Single 100bols a night. Secure Parking for three cars. 10bols a night. Tall ceiling so a SUV with roof top tent will fit.

Rooms are clean and nice. They gave me a double for the same price. Dog friendly. HBO in English and CNN. WiFi is okay. Hot showers and breakfast, which is good, not great.

Quiet neighborhood. Pleasant area. Not a long walk to Central area.

Stayed the night here after visiting ESO. We prefered sleeping below 1000 m as it is winter now. Very quite at night.

lot of space to camp with soft and even ground. Sanitaries are open with drinkable water but no shower. An overall great experience but beware of mosquitoes. There are tons of them between 8 pm and 22pm. tons. like a freaking cloud of bugs it was crazy.

We asked around town where we could replace a tire and everyone said that there is nothing here and we should go to Olgii or Bukhmurun.
In the end some guys at this garage accepted to help us. They seem to be all truck drivers fixing their own rig. They have some tools and definitively know the drill!

There is a small break between the boundaries of Dinosaur National Monument that seems to be used and legal for dispersed camping. Fire rings. No amenities. There are two places for cars that can be seen from the road (which is not busy) but there may be more spaces further back. Don't abuse it, keep it clean, because it's so close to the monument boundaries that there's no doubt they'll make it illegal to camp here if we're not careful!

Fantastic nature reserve, full of the beats from the bush. Campsites spacious and lots of shadow. Fire place with braai grid, wood available. Toilets, hot and cold water, dish washing basin. Things to do: 4x4 trail (in dry season), hike to vulture colony with guide, (self) game drive, bird watching, vulture restaurant (hide). For the one who wants to camp remote with a little bit of comfort.

We stayed at camp 3. Fire pit, bear box and picknick tables. Clean pit toilet. Beautiful peaceful views over the river and valley. Perfect if moving from or to Yellowstone. Incredible that it is free.

Enjoy a cool night up on 2690mts.
Coming from Kerman just before the tunnel, turn left onto the gravel parking lot and from here you can drive a small gravel road up the hill to an abandoned house. Here you‘re out of sight and the nights are super quiet.

Is a house with 2 floors. In the first floor there is a kitchen, bathroom and a room with a really big mattress (2m), and A/C and fridge. In the 2 floor there is a room and a bathroom with A/C and fridge. You can rent just one floor. Is a really honest and nice family, nice conversations with them. In 15 minutes walking you will be in the beach. Near the house you have a lot of restaurants ( la cocinita de yumi and super Mochis are delicious).
Ask for Arley, the color of the house is dark red and creamy.

Station down the road from El Questro. nice enough but very busy, little shade in the river camping area and run down facilities. Next time I'd either spend another night at El Questro or free camp given it's $42 per night for 2 people unpowered

We loved our stay at Finca La Playa Verde, Sandrine and Vincent are super nice hosts !! Originally planning to stay one night, we finally spent 4 days at their place. Sandrine and Vincent managed to create a very cool atmosphere, their place is peaceful surrounded by great nature. The town Filandia is accessible with a short drive (either with your own vehicle or with public transportation), can only recommend visiting this charming part of Columbia !!

We checked into the motel there. Rooms were clean, warm and quiet. It was nice to get out of the weather and not be in a tent during a really windy and wet time. The restaurant food was pretty good.

Wonderful place to stay. After 10 months on the road it feels a little bit like comming home. The owners, Cobus and Patricia, are really such sweet people. We could camp near a chalet and use bathroom and kitchen. We payed 200nd per night, but we didn't need elekticity. Everything very clean and nice. Cobus took us a day around his farm and showed us his beautiful sheep. We had a great time and will definitely come back if we are in the neighbourhood. Also very dogvriendly.

A bit crowdy during the sunset (it was summer so maybe it's not that much when there's no holydays) Otherwise nice spot for camping even tho you are near the trail. You camp above the river so you don't ear it to much, and there's less mosquitoes !

Really special camp site! Superb view of early morning balloons & Capadoccia area. Swimming pool is a dream. Lots of Overlanders pass through here, very sociable. Ice cold beers in the chiller next to reception. Kaya Camp have their own hot air balloons, ask at reception. Best value at approx. 130euro per head.

We arrived at 5.30pm and explained that we wanted to enter the park at 6am but had no options to camp close by. This is really true, absolutely no camp grounds or even suitable bush camps around. The ladies at the office said they had to get permission from their manager first. They called him and he said it was fine. They directed us to their fenced “garage area”. They even offered us water. Super friendly and helpful. Perfect place to camp before entering the park in the morning. They said people had done this before. No issues.

Advice: organise the permit for the park when you arrive in the evening, because the ladies probably won’t be at the office until about 7am otherwise. They wanted us to sign in in the morning and said “just wait for us until we get here!!!” From previous experience we know this means hours later than the actual opening time!!

So here we have a no frills little camp site RIGHT NEXT TO GARDA! It’s €15 for 24 hrs as a flat rate which is awesome because if you arrive late you don’t then have to leave at 11 the next day. You also don’t have to pay per adult or any of that crap.

The guy that runs it is super friendly and if you pull up to the barrier he will let you in and show you where to park.

The pitches aren’t huge but certainly enough to set up your awning etc.

There is a pizzeria right next door which I would totally recommend, it’s cheap and the pizza is molto bene!

The location is great because you’re right next to the lake but you will need to cycle about 10/15 minutes into town or get a quick bus/taxi (there are loads) down the road. This means it’s great to access the rest of the lake if you spend a day exploring.

Toilet and shower facilities were nothing incredible but totally acceptable (especially for the cheap price) and it has waste disposal + fresh water etc.

There is free WiFi available in a shelter by reception which is pretty decent but it likely won’t stretch to the rest of the site.

All in all I would definitely come again and totally recommend as a cheap way to stay and explore beautiful Garda!
