Really sweet family with a flatish spot, cold shower and bathroom near Las gachas. Paid 20 mil, we are two. We hiked on foot the next morning paid another mil per person to enter private land (surely there are free entrances) the gachas were uniquely spectacular. The next night we spent at the other site with the river crossing for free, parked next to a cascada and your own personal gachas. We wished we stayed there both nights.

Joep & Juul have created a really amazing environment every overlander should see. They truly have everything you could want except beer. We came for a night and stayed 5. The camp is very basic with a fire ring, but you're free to use their communal sink and bathroom with a hot waterfall shower (it's better under the sun). They have redesigned their tobacco finca using traditional techniques and earth structures while maintaining an open nature vibe with a very chic artistic aesthetic. With fruit trees, fossils, hammocks, and really sweet dogs. Ask either of them about their designs as they love to share, it's truly a masterpiece. They also sell fresh baked breads, yogurt, guided tours, and the chance to wash your own laundry. Joep also has an AMAZING dvd collection that we shared one night for movie night. Oh yeah and Barichara is walking distance, but I need no intro to barichara other than go to the paper factory.

Free, quiet, huge panoramic views of the canyon. Couldn't ask for more on our way through. steep road in, but very doable with 2 wheel drive.

Free grassy area near the basketball building, hospital said no. flat spots were difficult to find, none near the church. We camped here before our hike of the Paramo. If we had a4x4 the site next to the trail head looked great for camping, too steep for our little sprinter... Mongui was magic, stayed two days, although the soccer ball factory really doesn't fit the vibe, but truly lovely town.

Ended our day in San Gil and struggled to find camp. wound up here and had to beg management to allow us to spend the night. They asked us to consume in one of the shops, so we bought some basic groceries and showed the receipt to the morning guard. They also asked we didn't leave the vehicle at all. This was a place to sleep as a last resort and nothing more. Try your luck at one of the hotel/ camp sites down the road although they felt expensive for what they offered, all had different prices ranging from 20 pp-40pp. Eat some Culonas near the puente, you won't regret it.

Truly sweet family running a balneario/ restaurant. Camped ($5,000 pp)near the river, bathed in the river, and had gigantic dinner in the restaurant ($10,000). Truck noise was loud pretty much all night, as it's a very important truck route. Could be difficult for tent campers. Best Patacones ever en serio.

Pulled in on our drive to San Gil, payed $5000 to car camp, but the truck noise and heat pushed us into a hotel room $30,000 with hot showers and ac. Felt worth it after driving for 8 hours in that stifling heat. dinner next door was very cheap.

s35 for double room with shared bathroom. Excellent shower. Able to keep our bicycles securely downstairs. Quite noisy at night from other guests and the bathroom light shone straight into our room but otherwise fine.

Very nice place. Still possible to camp for free on the parking. they encourage you to have dinner and/or breakfast. it is 3$ for the dinner and same price for breakfast. Very tasty. The owner are very nice and take care of food allergies. only 3 spots for ioverlander (and one of it is not very flat).

It is a 35 kilometre drive into Kimberley from here but we could not find any good or suitable places in Kimberley so chose here. It was a quiet clean place with a friendly owner. Sites are a good size and grassed. Electricity and water was available at the site. Ablution block was reasonably clean but could have been better. Showers were hot but poor pressure. Cost was R150 per person so quite expensive considering it was a quiet time of year.

They managed to wash and dry our clothes within about an hour.
They charge per machine (our bag was maybe about 4 kg) and it was 4.25$.
I think depending of the size of the machine they have different prices.

Very nice spot. We arrived at night and were welcomed by a zorro. Plenty of space in the dry river. Quite sandy but no 4x4 necessary. Quiet night and beautiful stars.

Super helpful and friendly. Had Coleman tanks in stock for S35 each or x2 for S65. Lots of fittings and connections as well but unfortunately no acme to local Peruvian. Could provide hose and connector from Colman stove to Peruvian tank for S90. Good dudes!

A super friendly family run restaurant on the playa who were very accommodating of two tired cyclists.
Cheap cervezas and reasonably priced food for the area. It’s at a slightly quieter end of the beach and near to some interesting mangroves.

We found this wonderful hilltop with an amazing view over the Nationalpark Gantrisch. Just soft grass between two trees with a bench next to it. Guess there are plenty of places like that in the area. Camped there for one night with a small tent.

Single 100bols a night. Secure Parking for three cars. 10bols a night. Tall ceiling so a SUV with roof top tent will fit.

Rooms are clean and nice. They gave me a double for the same price. Dog friendly. HBO in English and CNN. WiFi is okay. Hot showers and breakfast, which is good, not great.

Quiet neighborhood. Pleasant area. Not a long walk to Central area.
