Quite an amazing place. All build and maintained by Mr Adam. We spent a while there with him and he turned out to be the main attraction of this home museum.
Very interesting experience even though we had to rely on Google translate to communicate with him!
If the gate is closed, there is a phone number on the door. If you don't speak Russian, you can call Mme Zarema, she speaks really good english and helps him to communicate with foreign visitors. Her number is: +7 928 290 54 90

We fist parked down the village near the beach next to the bar and the bungalows. But it was quite noisy and we were just scared to be waken up by the muezzin calls at night (as in Grozny).
So I drove up the village as far as I could and found this spot. It looks like a sport complex, not sure it is already open.
Anyway, the night was quiet and great views in the morning.

This place is no good. Sign says no overnight camping although one other person in a van was parked just fine, you are literally feet from the train that goes all night AND if you’re lucky like us-you’ll get egged from the apartments above haha! Glad they didn’t hit the solar!

Nice and remote camping with benches and fire pits... seems to be free to use. It was incredibly foggy when we were here so didn’t see much. Road coming in from the south is a dirt road in pretty bad condition, we made it in our sprinter style van but not sure it was worth the stress for just the one night. No information here about local hikes either

Union and Confederate forces clashed here in multiple battles during the US Civil War. A nice place for any history buff.

Kitesurfing spot. I e camped here a couple times. I go down right next to the water.

Restaurants were closed because there are in a slow season for fishing. There are stores with some snacks there. We asked around and a lady made us some fish. So we didn't strike out completely

Entrance is by the beginning/end of the rail guard -depends on which direction you are heading. took a few u-turns to figure it out. Original poster's coordinate entrance is gated.

Really lovely spot right next to the lake. Very clean toilets and showers. Decent WiFi. There is a restaurant (though we didn’t try it.) We paid 150 (2 people for 2 nights). We parked along the little fence line in front of the Reception (close to the WiFi router).

Due to reparaions the road is cut from 6.00 am till 16.00 every day till the end of December

TIP (Temporary Import Permit) for Honduras - check the receipt before handing over ANY money. Our receipt said 636.79 Lempira but the employee charged us 950 Lempira. We didn't even look at the receipt until after we left. So we went back and successfully demanded the extra money back. The guy reluctantly pulled it out of his pocket after insisting the difference was due to a fabricated extra phantom charge
called COHEP.
Lessons learned: 1. Never pay for anything without receiving a receipt 2. Check the receipt before handing over money. 3. Understand that they can sound very convincing and be ultra friendly while they're ripping you off.

Very quiet overnight place, free wifi from the park

It’s a small really nice balneario. The family welcomed us very warmly with coffee and bread. They say they have Wifi but it didn’t work when were here. 25 R pp including breakfast. Don’t come on a weekend because it’s full of people. Before entering the village take the way to the right and before the yellow church turn right again (there’s a sign).

Really useful spot! As the first comment, is not a camping yet but the owner is working on that!! He and the staff were highly kind and assisted us in everything we need to make us feel comfy and safe. They let us to use the toilets (super clean), and the wifi in his wife office, as there is not service yet. We set our tent under a shade and made a fire in the brai!! Stunning sky!! :) cold night!! You got a shop if u want to eat something. Staff looking after all night long. Thanks very much for the hospitality!! Good luck with the project!!

Like the rest of the comments! Super nice place! We think best option for the price and better than the rest of the guest house in the town (no hostels apparently). Toilets ok! Hot shower perfect!! 120ppn!! Brais, ducks and quit night!! Orange River next to u!! Enjooy before crossing to Namibia!!

Great place to stay in front of the surf break . This place is Run by the hole family and they are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They are pet friendly and they always keep the place and bathrooms clean. The ranch is not gated but there is a sense of security all around

Sorry to say but it’s nothing like French crepes. Not enough filling. I’d say it’s not worth it if you compare with what you can have here for 30bs.
The taste was not bad though.

Best campground I’ve stayed after 4 months camping in the States and Canada. 15 usd per site with clean bathrooms, hot shower, free firewood, grassy sites with picnic tables and shade. Great to stop before/after doing the Mcgruder Corridor. Very nice nice owners too.

They also have have washing machines and free beer!

In the brick building with yellow paint and the name "Agencia Oficial" is a little tienda which sells cake, ice cream and potable water. 20L for 15 Bob. 2L bottle for 5 Bob. Also some locals exchanged their bidones/garafones here.

We spent almost 2 weeks on this camping altogether (with a few trips around) and really enjoyed it. It is THE place to meet other overlanders, the hot shower has a good pressure, the toilets are cleaned every morning, the owners are very nice and there is a book exchange! 📚 It does cost more than other campings, but it also offers more!

Fantastique. pour un prix dérisoire (70 bs pour l'extérieur et le dessous avec huile) , ils ont fait un travail incroyable d 1h30. le meilleur car wash d Amérique du Sud

we didn't quite make it to the campground but stayed at the parking lot a little before the lot. when we arrived there was a ranger parked there and we asked him of we could spend the night here. He told us: "where ever you want". so we parked our RV at the parking. there was a sign no camping but no one bothered us. there where toilet's, benches, bins and bbq's. very quiet and dark. 100% free.

Loved our stay here. 50 bs pppn, 5 year old free even though he still gets his own breakfast. Great hosts, lots of space, quiet nights. Pool table, ping pong, volleyball area, pool, good bathrooms. Need long extension to reach the outlets depending where you park. Might need to ring the bell for a while, sometimes they are not within hearing distance of the bell. Good market within walking distance.
