Amazing place to camp and FREE. We were here in sept, quite a few level spots next to river. not great for swimming but perfect to bathe & fill up tanks etc. It was hot here in the canyon during the day, but mega cooled off at night. AMAZING stars. Camp spots next to a thermal baths which cost 4sol. Varying temp pools from really hot to warm. Perfect in the cooler evening. Thermal baths are clean and well maintained. v nice, welcoming owners. There is a restauraunt and some falcons, guinea pigs, chickens etc. and good 4G. Its really beautiful! Highly recommend! Thermal baths are closed jan - apr... May - july must be amazing here! Only locals come here and we only hope it maintains its magic.

Heading towards Durango, hang a left just before a hairpin up a rocky climb into the trees. Follow it round until a road forks off to the left. Reverse down this road and there's a small clearing with no litter! I had to move a couple of rocks to clear the sump. Conquered in a 2wd Westfalia, cars might struggle.

Parked at sea front in camper truck, next to a good bar/café, Mini-Market with basics and SIM cards opposite Hotel called 'Little House'. Stayed two nights on my way to Nukus, Uzbek.

This is probably the best place for overlanders to stay in Medellín! Batistina is the best host anyone can ask for. She is super attentive and extremely helpful, she will do everything to make you feel as welcomed and accommodated as possible! She loves to receive overlanders! You will have the opportunity to have the rare pleasure of a very hot shower in really nice bathrooms, (each shower has a separate and individual water heater, so really hot water). But the main feature of this place, which you will have the opportunity to easily check out as soon as you enter, is that it is extremely clean and organized! It has nice places to hang out (TV with Netflix, outside area), and a nice equipped Kitchen. And all the staff is super friendly. It is at a great location (popular El Poblado), the street is very quiet so perfect to sleep in the car, and it is close to metro, supermarkets, restaurants. We had a wonderful time here! We were even allowed to bring our dog inside..

Excellent camping with beautiful views of The Nile. Each spot has a table and cooking areas and food preparation are provided. As overlanders we paid 7.50 usd pppn. Toilets and showers very clean. Toilets flush on first try. Showers provide warm water and much more than a trickle of water. Meals were very good. The 12 usd breakfast is a huge meal with a variety of goodies - french toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs prepared to your wishes, maple syrup, nutella, lots of fresh fruit etc. Real coffee prepared in a french press. You can ask for more of any of the items. Staff very friendly, attentive and helpful. We arrived after dark and relied on google maps. We were sent down a terrible road that does not lead to The Haven. Wasted an hour trying to locate the place. Had we arrived in daylight, we would have seen the signs for The Haven which are clearly posted indicating the way on a fairly good murram road. Pool with sun chairs and towels provided. wifi good.

1 hour drive from Almaty, you will find this beautiful lake in the mountains. The lake is used for the fresh water supply of the city. We arrived at 8:30 and had the lake for ourselves. At 10 it became quite crowded. Spectacukar views though!

Spur off of FR41 near Mt. Pilchuck. Heavily trafficked in the weekends and holidays. There is a stream about 2 miles back towards main highway.

We loved snake farm. They have very clean flush toilettes and hot shower (electric ones). The owners are an South African couple, lovely lady and her husband. So the campsite has this South African atmosphere especially at the bar. We had great time there also meeting other travelers.

We came a cross this place while exploring the coast region and looking for cheaper options to sleep than Dar or Bagamayo. It is a hotel, but they have quite some flat space to park your car or pitch your tent. The hotel is situated close to the sea (50 mtrs) and has a restaurant and bar. This place is secured with a fence and guards patrolling the area. Staff is very friendly and if you want to see the village you are more than welcome to come along.

For camping don’t expect anything to fancy as this was there first time having overlanders over. No braai, but you can make a fire on the sandy surface. There is a toilet, but outdated. No hot shower, but only a cold one close to the beach. No wifi, but this is work in progress.

But for $5,- pppn this is the cheapest option in this area and good for a night.

Great place in a beautiful area in the mountains surrounded by lush green Forrest.
The location has a small grassy campsite with hot shower and 2 toilets which are cleaned every day. No power, fire pit or braai facilities. Price 15.000 pppn.
There is a restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch and diner all reasonably priced and freshly made with ingredients from the farm. 3 course diner is 25.000 pp.
Wifi available, but very slow. Airtel signal with 3g.
Tours can be organised at the reception and hike tours with guide can be arranged from 50.000 pp. You can also buy fresh produced such as jam, cheese, bread, muesli, etc which are very tasty.

Such a welcoming and helpful family. We camped in the very secure family compound and they helped us get some parts we needed. We stayed 2 nights, used their bathroom occasionally, shared coffees and conversation. Highly recommend.

At the feet of the beautiful mountain of Sherkala. Coming from Shetpe, take the little track on the right in front of the little oasis. Then you arrive at the feet of this kind of mountain and you find your way to camp depending on your way of transportation (some places can be reached only by bike/foot). There is nothing around appart you... Lovely
