Highly recommended. Clean (composting) toilet; hot shower; decent wifi; clean communal kitchen; peaceful, scenic setting. 15-minute walk to Vilcabamba center. We enjoyed our brief stay here, found owners Nathan and Beatrice to be very friendly and accommodating. Vehicles over 7 mtrs in length may have difficulty, however, especially if other rigs are there already.

We stayed in Mildred avenue for about 10 nights while we were converting our van. Sometimes a bit noisy, but only 5 minute walking to the beach restrooms. @flores.ontheroad

Safe spot in main square. Very hot. We arrived at 4pm to town and it was like a ghost town. At 6pm a lot of people came out to the streets til 12pm! We think because of the hot, at night was a little colder. No police bother us.

Another spot. Close to the 21 byway, but still pretty quiet. Not that beautiful or special, but spacious and comfortable with a good and leveled surface

Free parking just off the road, facing the ocean. Public toilets, bins available. In a residential area, so good for one night.

This is a must-do in the Coffee area. Javier and Ana used to be coffee Farmers for 50 years. They recently switched to organic and are planting trees instead of coffee - Javier will tell you why in the ecological walk he offers over the finca.
We camped there and were awaked by a wonderful concert of the birds that come in the morning. We saw the cows getting milked by hand. Ana made us so much coffee as we wanted. We felt incredibly welcome. No problems with our two dogs. The organic coffee they produce is delicious, they show you the whole process and you can buy it also. Hot shower and good WiFi.

3$ pp for camping. Unfortunately the campspot (space for 1 tent) is not very cosy and felt quite dirty. We ended up getting a room instead

Nice scenic road from Rendón to Olon. Only first km's is asphalt. Mainly gravel, some parts hard sand and sometimes muddy. You pass dozens of little creeks.
High clearance recommended, 4x4 depending on the weather.

Rustic hot springs resort. Well maintained. One main constructed hot springs pool in original "barn". Cabins/rooms available for rent and reasonably well equipped. RV camping with hookups also available. Place is a real labor of love for the owner, and it shows.

First thing first: Lovely and heart warming owner who helped us in a bad situation.

Long story: Stuff was stolen from our 4WD trunk during shopping of food in Tsumeb. Daylight, 1am. Went to police, filed report. My pregnant wife got really bad with her stomach and bladder in the police station and we drove to the private clinic in Tsumeb. They kept her in the hospital for one day. In the evening we met parents of a girl in that hospital. Talked to them an told them the whole story. I planned to stay on the hospital ground with the car. After few minutes the father offered me a room in the restcamp. Told me that I can park there and stay for the night. No charges. He was the owner.

Thank you! I hope that will get to you one day! We often talk about that situation even after years. You are a great Man.
