very very nice place, big with a lot of space, it's like a mini national park, with waterfalls cave, even a trail route off 500mts, clean bathrooms, hot showers, very nice owners, they sell cold beers 😍, and have wifi next to the reception, you can swim In the river, the 10 kms before don't have pavement, but it's ok, don't need 4x4, the entrance it's for big rigs (4 mts I think)

Dirt parking lot net to the road under trees just a few meters from the trailhead to Inselberg Savane-Roche Virginie national reserve.

We're on bikes and didn't feel like going all the way down the gravel road. We put up the tent in between the two houses, but it looks like you could put one up in one of the houses too. Visible from the road if you set up in daylight, but not at night. A very friendly older guy parks his bike in one of the houses before taking the colectivo into Challapata in the morning.

Easy and quick, because I had all the necessary adapters. Filled our fixed gas tank using a brasilien bottle. 13kg for 105 Rs

After running around many motorcycle dealerships I was guided here.

They did not have my battery in stock but they had it delivered in 45 minutes.

Paid 275Soles for a YTX12-BS for my Suzuki Vstrom - charged and ready to go.

Other dealer wanted 420 for the same battery and an extra fee to charge it.

A really great place to spend some days and to visit cuenca. Pablo is the owner of this place and a nice host. He is from spain and speaks english. There is a place for around tree vans or motorhomes. We could use the kitchen an the bathroom with hot showers in the house. Electricity and Water at sites. Quiet at night. 10 Minutes by Taxi to Cuenca Downtown for 5 Dollars.

We spent some days here to relaxe and visit Alausi. A really nice place. The owner is a friendly old lady and she speaks english very well. The two dogs are also friendly and harmless to us. We could not understand the negativ comments here. We had a very good kitchen and hot shower, good internet connection and electricity at site. There is place for about 3 rigs, also bigger ones. Quiet at night. 15 Minutes to walk in the centre or to train station. Highly recommended.

Did not go to the beach, got there at sunset looking to camp... There was a creepy trailer there (seasonal) and no one mentioned it was next to a graveyard... No thanks

A park with place for medium size campers. Well lite at night. On the outside of the town. Very quiet (beside some early roosters).

Fantastic so far...so quiet and a couple of others pulled in...I stayed two nights at the beginning of October. Lots of camp sites, road is a bit rough but manageable at a slower speed. Free and 10 miles to the entrance of the Grand Canyon.

Small restaurant and hostel. Rooms are in the backyard of the restaurant. Everything looks pretty new.
Paid 15000 CLP p.p. for a matrimonial with private bathroom, breakfast included. Dinner for 5000 CLP is possible too.
The owner is really lovely and gave me a lot of tips.

Private room is 40s. matrimonial is 50s I think. With bathroom and cable as usual. Spotless clean room and toilet with seat. Something rare you can find in Peru and you find it here in this remote canyon. Real shower not suicidal type electric shower. WiFi is fast but 3rd floor router not working. secured parking is at nearby location, so unload your things before to parking.

Hard dirt road enroute from Pauza to Vilcar. No problem with a bike. Quite sure no problem for bigger rigs

Update as in October 2018. Road from Vilcar to Colta to Oyolo to Corculla to Charcana enroute to Cotahuasi is passable. Good ripio but with steep cornering. Expect delay as there's a lot of road works in progress.

No ‘no overnight parking’ signs, but city has city wide prohibition on sleeping in vehicle on streets. Take your chances. We stayed, but some kids came to play loud music. They approached another car with some spray paint, so we left...

This is a large gravel turn out along the highway. It has 2 entrances so great for large rigs. Nice views of the bay across the highway. We stayed here for 2 nights and nobody bothered us.

Excellent and huge tortas very friendly guy ! If you love meat have the cubanatiorian it’s so big and full of verdura and different kind of meat ;) 70p for the torta but totally worth it

Great kebab for 70 pesos. The meat is really tasty which makes the difference. Just opened, other branch in chetumal we haven’t tried. Try it you won’t be disappointed opener is a very friendly woman
