We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. We paid 5,000 CLP per person per night. The surroundings are quiet and it is only 2km from the beginning of the Laguna Cerro Castillo trailhead (about a 30min walk). There is an excellent “refuge” with plenty of plugs, a sink and cooking area and vending machines as well as pinboards with lots of information about the national park. There is a shower and toilet block, with 2 showers and 2 toilets per gender. The hot water is only on at certain times but the hot water is reliable and the showers are very hot with good pressure. The toilets and showers are also very clean. You can also get a good view of Cerro Castillo from this campsite. No WiFi or signal at this campsite. Would recommend.

incredible side of the road restaurant owned by a husband / wife duo and their kiddo. just next to the market. Very fresh food , and so inexpensive !!! The fish was amazing , and they also totally understood and accommodated our food allergies and a beautiful vegan meal for our friend.

Really nice. Just beneath the bridge on Hwy 399. It worth to go for a rest. We cooked our meal there with the free electricity available.

Nice spot as described. One other other camper around on Saturday.
Anyway, the way further down isn't that difficult - when you have decent clearance and a small vehicle you should be able to make it. 4wd not necessary - at least when it's dry.

Nice tropical hostel outside of coroico center and also cheaper. Very nice view!

Natural swimming pool and small cascada. Possible to camp also (few places to park).
Breakfast available and mainly a restaurant. Andreas is Italian and cooks amazing pasta and we had also caiman and a lot of incredible jungle food. We highly recommend this authentic place.

Stayed 10days and mostly just with one or two others on the huge and beautiful area; sometimes there is loud music from the nearby restaurant and the karaoke bar but mostly the music stops around 10p.m; the restrooms are very good and well maintained; lots of seabirds to see from the shoreline

Love this spot - great place for a hot shower, a wifi connection and some quiet down time.

We have always paid 150 pesos but they increased the price to 250 in the last week or so, two people in a campervan.

Just a clarification. there is an entrance fee of 15quetzals per person (no matter adult or kid, everyone pays). If you want to park and sleep in your camper/van another 15per person. And to visit the caves 30per person.
Open from 8-5pm
We arrived late, it was raining and all muddy, still we managed to enter (use your horn and security will come eventually)
And after paying, (120qz for the night, (2 adults + 2 kids) he let us in and showed us where to park, near a large dinning room.
There is WC and a nice trail to some
Small cave, a possibility to pay extra and do zip line / canoe.
the cave tour costs 30pp and they provide boots, helmet and lamp, be aware: one must climb through the river upstream, in our case, it had been raining a week, and a lot of water was flowing, but we managed to take the kids too.
Luckily we used our wetsuits, so no matter water covered them to their chest. It was 45 min tour, but the guide was very patient and showed us a little further than the sanctuary.
There is a longer tour that goes even further (3hours) one can do only when there is good weather, in Easter usually.

yep. same advice for cyclists. We took that road for having the strong wind in the back, so it was ok, but in normal conditions, really consider to take the asphalt road , even if much longer. it took us more than 6 hours to go the 60km (beak not included )

we asked for wind protection and the road guy offered us to sleep in the chicken house, wich is a very good wind and rain shelter, for free.
we didn't ask for water or bathroom, cause we just wanted to sleep, we they would probably have given us.
many people said that guys ask for money but I think it really depends on which team is in the place. probably depends also on what you ask (just to sleep in the tent or sleeping inside and use bathroom)
