Just stayed another week here and it is one of our favorite spots we’ve boondocked. Due to Covid there was 1/4 the number of people as last year, but the whales and surf are still raging. No amenities, but free and dreamy. Do everyone a favor and clean up after your dog (or don’t go barefoot because there is dog poop everywhere)!!! In-and-out cell service on ATT.

Really cool spot, lots of wide open space for camping. Super quiet at night. Some folks do indeed seem to live out here full time but they stay to themselves as does everyone out here. Motocross and OHV enthusiasts swarm out here during weekends but are largely respectful of campsites. Roads and trails go on for miles out here, so finding a secluded spot is not by any means difficult. Pretty solid ATT service (2-3 LTE bars) and Really good Verizon service (3-4 LTE bars) without using a weboost. Came in March and the high temps hovered around 75-78. Definitely will be back. The sunsets here are unbelievable.

Decent spot. There are orange ‘NO TRESPASSING’ signs tied to several trees as of March 5, 2021. I assume this is for the land around the road but I didn’t stay to find out. :-)

Nice small campsite located in the middle of a horse stud farm. We had a bit of an issue with flies but was not a big problem since we were out most days. Noise from helshoogte pass and road was a bit disturbing at night. Bathroom is awesome but will be problematic if the site is full. R400 is maybe a bit steep but it is in Stellenbosch which is a pricey area.

No signs that disallow overnight parking. Only signs for no loitering. Have bathrooms and a pavilion. Good cell signal on att and T-Mobile. There were a lot of no parking signs posted at the kings land marina spot next door so we stayed here in our truck camper.

Food great! Hotel overpriced for baja. 550 pesos for a mediocre room. No working heat and shower head came flying off, door let in noise. Water was hot at least in the shower. Forget about the hotel and just crash on the beach (la playa la bocana) for free it’s actually quieter and more beautiful.

Great location right off freeway with pretty level gravel roads getting in. Seems you can go quite far back.
Probably about 8 others dispersed in the areas off to the right snd left of the road leading in.
Gorgeous sunset off the mountains.
Other reviews said ignore the No Camping sign so I did as did others.

We stopped and took a look at the campsite but it looked run down so decided not to stay.

Very good wifi at the lodge. We had lunch at the restaurant and found it to be very expensive.

Nice little camp area. The sites are small and close together. New vault toilets. Great star viewing. Handy for the area. The road is noisy during the day. Not for large RVs.

Two bush campsites, great location in the bush, hot and cold showers, washing up place, social fire pit braai, electricity available. Friendly staff with ice, wood and bread on request. Also arranged drives to view Buffalo . Highly recommend for a break from city life or just a stop over.

Stayed just after the cattle gate on right hand side... good for overnight but gets dusty during the day from vehicles driving by fast. We spent the day up in Madera Canyon and another day at the information parking area. There is a vault toilet, trash, and water there:)

Great place. We left our Land Rover here the entire year due to COVID. Arne took great care of it. Coming back to see the car totally fine was so nice. Chris and Arne are very helpful. Great amenities, kitchen, bar, good WiFi and clean pool.

Von außen ungewöhnlicher Platz, aber der Service ist super. corona Öffnungszeiten. aktuell 9-15h. 10€ waschen, trocknen, legen. 5€ nur waschen und nass mitnehmen. In 2h erledigt. Wir sind einkaufen gefahren 4km weiter. wäsche ist sehr sauber und riecht nur leicht nach waschmittel. Sehr zu empfehlen.
