Nice place along the scenic route to La Carolina. Theres an abondonned building nearby and a small parking space for hikes to the Salto Escondido down in the valley.

Amazing view over the valley, horses and cows roaming around and no one cares about you. Stunning sunsets and sunrises.
Almost no Traffic during night. The free and open WiFi (no password needed) from the town reaches this place. Around 15mbit/s in the morning and 1 mbit/s in the evening.

We stayed here for 5 days.
Drinking water can be found at the San Francisco Gas Station in town. There is also a guy in town that refilled our Gas Bottle. We asked at the Ferreteria next to the Correo Argentino.

Incredible wild camp spot, great view and also very clean. I spent 3 nights without problems. Met some fishermen and locals who brought crayfish. Lots of rocks at the beach that you can use to level your car. Braai area and chairs, no Vodacom signal.

This petrol station looks like it doesn't work any longer. We passed by, it's an abandoned place, no more shops inside and noone around.

Stayed 2 quiet nights here without an issue.
The spot at this location is not exactly level but not terrible.

Sites were completely empty when I arrived so I decided to stay in the group camp because it has 2 bars of T Mobile. No problem getting in with my 2wd conversion van. The road has a pretty steep downward grade so I’d recommend trailers to scout on foot before coming in. The neighbor across the road from me pulled in with a Casita pulled by an Audi awd. He didn’t have any problems by the looks of it. Overall, wonderful stay and you can’t beat an Alabama Sunset.

This road IS very rough in places and probably should be avoided by large trailers and rigs, especially at night. I do have to add though that we have a van and while it was slow going in places, it was not much of an issue and is similar to other poorly maintained county roads we've taken. There were lots of regular cars and trucks driving the route. Unfortunately Google and Apple Maps route folks here with no warning at all.

Closest free camp to Tubac. Your welcome birders. State land, common to see hunters in season. No fire rings or anything. Good for one night. Some highway noise. Likely more spots down the road.

Spent a quiet, restful night here. The area is well used by fishermen, but they all left by evening. There is a 5th wheel all set up and I thought it was maybe a security guard. But the couple left around 5pm and, when I asked if I would park overnight they told me they had no jurisdiction and they don't care. They said they doubted that anyone would bother us, and no one did. There are restrooms here, but closed at the moment for winter.

Big parking lot with a nice view of Lake Mead. Trail head with one trail that goes to the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, although you can drive there. Check in at the front desk. You can stay up to 2 nights. Free. Road noise in the distance, but is relatively quiet. 4 restaurants next to the casino floor that are all open. Restrooms also next to the casino.

No more wifi and the toilets are not accessible anymore (staff only), but we asked the guy at the pump, he was very nice and opened the toilets for us. He didn't ask for money, we left him a small tip anyway.
