There is a campground at the park but a ranger told us it was o.k. to park along the wide area along the road outside the park gates but not where it says "No Parking." Park further along the road. Room for one or two small or one large RV. No services but we got pretty good Verizon signal at the park. Free (31.905417 -106.04845)

This is a truck parking spot behind Wahoo Seafood and Holiday Inn shared by 2-3 motels in the location. Only 2 trucks here on a Friday night, very quiet. 2 bars AT&T and 4 bars T-Mobile.

I checked with staff to confirm overnight parking was okay, despite there being fellow RVers already in the lot.

About $80/night for a small RV park at the Riverbend hot springs. A splurge but worth it as your RV parking charges gets you access to the beautiful hot springs along the bank of the Rio Grande. Water, electric and dump hook ups, although so easily-accessible spigots for vans like ours with small internal water jugs. During non-COVID times, they have showers available. Not the most scenic place to park but the hot springs are gorgeous.

This is a hit or miss area. we are in a converted ambulance and were here after dark. We even picked an area where the fence was high to park on the street and a guy came out and told us this wasn't a campground and that he doesn't want to see us here last 10pm. Very interesting area for sure. We moved just because we don't want trouble but we were respectful and quiet.

Great views. Adventure getting there. No water and ablution block about 50m away. Rocky terrain to get there. Don't attempt in the rainy season. No fence / security - open camp. Please carry your own firewood.

Indeed some very nice camping-sites between wonderful rock formation. We stayed at San Camp which is very secluded between two boulders. Very nice open air shower and toilet. The sites are very clean, all with water, sink, braai area and well maintained. N$ 130ppn, wood N$40 per bundle, Fritz and Barbara at the Omandumba Guest Farm are also the caretakers of the campsites.

smell of oil rigs is so strong here. my husband got a headache right right we arrived and wouldn't stop coughing all night until we decided to finally leave. he's not too sensitive to smells either but it was really making him sick.

pros: super empty area. free hookups.

didn't even stay the night. wouldn't recommend unless you want to smell oil all around you.

also if you check the map, this area is completely swamped with oil rigs all around. literally dozens and dozens.

Nice and quiet during night. Acces to water in banos. Possible to use toilets, cold showers (use some tools), tables with benches, trash bins.
A lot of sea lions jumping just in front of the beach. Most of locals left before and after sunset.
Street lamps works whole night. Accessible for all kinds of vehicles. Very good Entel and Movistar signal. No wind protection.

They ask 25000 per night including breakfast, but I mentioned that only need to stay and leave in 10000 without shower only bathroom (dirty) and I didn’t use it, no power... they have light at night from solar panel and a guard and dogs.
The beach is very nice and clean with clear and warm water soft waves.
I had been followed by a lot of kids and women selling handicrafts.
I need wifi and had to drive 5 min to downtown.

So this isn’t a campground with hookups or anything but Riverside calls this their dry camping campground. It’s in the casino parking lot at the back where it is designated for RVers. You can stay for up to 14 days for free.

When you arrive you will need to register with hotel registration. You are required to have a players card and provide your vehicle registration, insurance, ID, and your players card. Once you’ve checked in security will come out to inspect the outside of the RV to make sure there aren’t any leaks anywhere.

There were some vans camping here also. There is also free WiFi. Riverside does have a more established campground across the street for $28+/night but this is free and it worked for us.

Good for taking shelter from strong wind. Decent shades from trees. Hiking opportunities.

Bad for driving in with sparse campsites. In between ridges so it get cold, moist air at night. May not find a site in peak seasons. Muddy when wet. permit required between April to October. Cattle patties galore. No signal. Everything uphill from here on the highway was muddy from rain and snow. Road closeures into forest road. Lower Lake Mary was open but had snow and muddy conditions. Good luck in winter.

Would not recommend coming down this road for an overnighting.

After taking the “beach access” road from the parking lot, there are a number of gravelly paths leading down to the water or to overlooks, all suitable for camping. We have a 2WD van that was fine on the roads, but some looked more daunting and we chose our path wisely. Bathrooms in the parking lot, so if you want that you should stick closer to the lot. We went down almost to the water, and saw upwards of 30 RVs on our way out. Lots of others, but plenty of space to share! We didn’t feel crowded or bothered at all, and the sunset / sunrise were KILLER! We heard waterfowl and coyotes intermittently throughout the evening and morning, nothing that annoyed us or made us feel nervous.

The one downside was the bugs at dusk. They swarmed us at first, but once we put our lights a few yards away from the van and our cooking setup, the bugs barely touched us. I’m sure a campfire would work well as a repellant! Our site and most others had fire rings.

We thought we’d have to pay the $25 single vehicle fee at the park entrance on north shore rd, but we were able to use our national parks pass to get in for free. We felt so lucky to find lake mead on our way from Death Valley to Zion!
