kitfield.vernon | After taking the “beach access” road from the parking lot, there are a number of gravelly paths leading down to the water or to overlooks, all suitable for camping. We have a 2WD van that was fine on the roads, but some looked more daunting and we chose our path wisely. Bathrooms in the parking lot, so if you want that you should stick closer to the lot. We went down almost to the water, and saw upwards of 30 RVs on our way out. Lots of others, but plenty of space to share! We didn’t feel crowded or bothered at all, and the sunset / sunrise were KILLER! We heard waterfowl and coyotes intermittently throughout the evening and morning, nothing that annoyed us or made us feel nervous. The one downside was the bugs at dusk. They swarmed us at first, but once we put our lights a few yards away from the van and our cooking setup, the bugs barely touched us. I’m sure a campfire would work well as a repellant! Our site and most others had fire rings. We thought we’d have to pay the $25 single vehicle fee at the park entrance on north shore rd, but we were able to use our national parks pass to get in for free. We felt so lucky to find lake mead on our way from Death Valley to Zion! |

mary ellen | Camped here 1 night in tent. Surprised by the reviews as not impressed with this place at 200 pesos/night for a mediocre spot in a dusty environment with no water. Area infiltrated with flies. Traffic on dirt road thruout the day/night. Evident little maintenance has been done. |

lewis.fiskars | I think this place is great. Easy to find and while there is some noise from the main road, it dies off after 10/11pm or so. Loads of room. Path is hard dirt and flat, some small bumps but nothing major. Big rigs might have trouble as not much room to turn around if needed. The 'sites' closer to 210th St are more dense with trees if you want lots of privacy. If you follow the paths further West they reduce in numbers and guy can find spots that are more open and offer good views of the sky / surrounding hills and mountains. 1/2 bars of AT&T. There is a portapotty near the entrance - not sure if to accommodate campers or for the industrial site near the entrance. |

busbusbus | Hot springs seem nice, but there were three big groups camped right next to the tub and essentially monopolizing the springs. Seems to be popular with OHV people and those who run generators non-stop all day. Might be quieter mid-week. |

transhumances.eu | This isn't the right location. Their office is now on the main street down from here, the big yellow house at the crossroad between "Santos Mardones" and "Manuel Señoret". It's open only in the morning 8:30 to 12:30. You can pay by card. We paid 43500 for our van (driver included) and 6800 for the other passenger. The ferry to Punta Arenas leaves at 2PM from the harbour 5km away from here. |

Sometimes the place is booked out by one group or a conference, in which case people turning up at the door might be turned away. A great campsite with wonderful views and facilities. |
