ExplorerSouls.com | Nice place along the scenic route to La Carolina. Theres an abondonned building nearby and a small parking space for hikes to the Salto Escondido down in the valley. Amazing view over the valley, horses and cows roaming around and no one cares about you. Stunning sunsets and sunrises.
We stayed here for 5 days.

Landy-Peter | Incredible wild camp spot, great view and also very clean. I spent 3 nights without problems. Met some fishermen and locals who brought crayfish. Lots of rocks at the beach that you can use to level your car. Braai area and chairs, no Vodacom signal. |

clayclay | Sites were completely empty when I arrived so I decided to stay in the group camp because it has 2 bars of T Mobile. No problem getting in with my 2wd conversion van. The road has a pretty steep downward grade so I’d recommend trailers to scout on foot before coming in. The neighbor across the road from me pulled in with a Casita pulled by an Audi awd. He didn’t have any problems by the looks of it. Overall, wonderful stay and you can’t beat an Alabama Sunset. |

gerberding | This road IS very rough in places and probably should be avoided by large trailers and rigs, especially at night. I do have to add though that we have a van and while it was slow going in places, it was not much of an issue and is similar to other poorly maintained county roads we've taken. There were lots of regular cars and trucks driving the route. Unfortunately Google and Apple Maps route folks here with no warning at all. |

mkgbcatcher | Closest free camp to Tubac. Your welcome birders. State land, common to see hunters in season. No fire rings or anything. Good for one night. Some highway noise. Likely more spots down the road. |

birgitkwood | Spent a quiet, restful night here. The area is well used by fishermen, but they all left by evening. There is a 5th wheel all set up and I thought it was maybe a security guard. But the couple left around 5pm and, when I asked if I would park overnight they told me they had no jurisdiction and they don't care. They said they doubted that anyone would bother us, and no one did. There are restrooms here, but closed at the moment for winter. |
