waltbx | Going north out of Blanding, the second road to the left just past the reservoir. Open, reasonably flat, some fire rings, next to water. Unreliable Verizon. It's okay, nice to have water nearby. There is some traffic noise but quiet at night. Across the reservoir are several big rigs. On this side, big rigs may have trouble. The access road is the old highway and is higher than the surrounding. Free. We saw one picnic table and one portable toilet. |

waltbx | 17 sites in a beautiful valley on the Dolores River near Cortez, CO. Flat sites spaced far apart, cottonwoods, juniper and pinyon forest but lots of open space. Quiet and "out of the way" . You cross farm fields before dropping into the Dolores Canyon where this lovely valley is. This is a real gem. Big rig friendly. No or occasional cell service. Cell tower is 5 miles away. Water "at the hand pump." Boat ramp. Clean pit toilets. $8/night; $4 with Senior Pass. |

dushkuginny | We decided not to sleep here, the whole place is surrounded by oil fields. It really ruins the scenery |
Fantasy Canyon near Vernal | 40.11031, -109.43214
efetch | not bad. easy access. road noise and train noise, but it's a great quick in and out spot. the one further back would be nicer and more quit but I didn't have time to disconnect the car and drive back there, our rig is 32 feet long and doesn't like washboard so this spot is better |

kitfield.vernon | Tons of boondocking spots off of 150, flat at first and better for big rigs before the road gets a bit rougher. We have a 2WD high clearance van and we continued up the slope a ways until we found a level spot. Fire rings, occasional vegetation (for privacy) on the mountainside. Relatively crowded on a Monday night in early May but there were plenty of spots and additional roads veering off. Nice place for an overnight en route to southern CO destinations! |

kitfield.vernon | Nice flat spots with fire rings and solid privacy from neighbors along the river! We arrived around 6pm on a Tuesday in early May and were lucky to get a spot...numerous vehicles drove past us later on and ended up turning around to leave. Right off of 160, but still feels remote. The river sounds and starry sky were spectacular. Great spot in the way to or from Durango area. |

sarahewallace1 | Took a shower for $5. Super nice and very clean. I was the only one in there in the morning. Wanted to do laundry but it’s coin operated and they only give you change for $10 or more. You can also fill up with water at the rv park (also pay at the 7-11) for $5 |
Blanding RV Park | 37.61228, -109.47847
Thriving Nomadic | About primitive 15 campsites with fire rings. Many sites have direct beach access to their own little private beach. Signs displaying to camp at fire rings only. Big rig friendly. Super quiet. Park Size: 22 campsites, 11 horse campsites. There is electric hookups at the official campground at the entrance. If you make a right and drive 2.6miles, you will see all the primitive camping. There is a horse camp at the end of the road. Full Verizon and four AT&T bars. |

r8yQqy6zELKsPFAdabwv | This is a free place to camp with a 14 day limit that is a sloped gravel area next to the lake. There was no one here and according to the book Free and Low Cost Camping the site is free to use. Limited Verizon signal. Access is by a gravel road (about 2.2. miles) that was a bit soft due to all the recent rain but did not required 4x4. A larger rig might have trouble turning around here...

evan.caldon | not gonna lie, the 2 hour dirt road in (42 kms) was rough. the dirt road itself is just fine, no big rocks or anything, just steep in a few areas... it's just incredibly white-washed so you cannot go more than 15mph and it's gonna be bumpy no matter what! once you get in though... absolutely surreal. you will most likely have the place to yourselves! be safe with the Grand Canyon obviously, but you will love the views. totally worth the drive in! keep her clean and enjoy what mother nature has to offer :) |

rappchris | This is a nice place for a one night stop. Nice views of the open range and distant mountains. I would not drive back in here if it had rained. One note of warning don’t take a walk down that old Iona highway there is an illegal BLM dumping ground about 3 miles down that dirt road. |
