Such a lovely little spot. Def a popular spot during the day (and at night...had a group of folks show up at 3am).
Only one other car camped here last night tho.
Level ground, good signal (att & tmobile), and soothing sounds of the beach.

Secure parking for small vehicles and motorcycles. I stopped here on my way to Santa Marta from Bucaramanga. Good half way rest point.

45 L of gasolina directly into our tank. First they said it‘s only possible for the international price, but then we got it for 6 BOL per liter.

Really nice spot for the night! We thought about stopping at the junction before, but glad we didn’t this was a very peaceful stop.

Site 16 is Starlink compatible but is a bit uneven, so that’s the tradeoff. Every other site is extremely level and large! Comes with a fire pit, free wood, and pit toilets. Water you have to boil.

Primitive and beautiful camping! Enjoy
Cheers,

Great Views. High above clouds, probably the most ‘private’ of the pull outs. Could fit 2 maybe 3 cars here. Fire ring, however there are no fire signs when you enter. Burn responsibly.

One of the better spots tucked in the trees. Could fit 2 maybe 3 small vehicles. Fire ring, permit required as these trees are protected and they have had issues with people not properly extinguishing fires. Burn responsibly. One of the few spots for a hammock. Walk back to the left of this spot and there’s a trail with some surprises and great views of the sunset.

This is a free and potable water tap, it is part of a small monuments that Acueductos y Alcantarillados (national water supply company) locates in rural towns to be used no charge

Would have been a great night at a very nice WM, but this young white dude in a black pickup truck apparently had nothing better to do than harass the 2 campers. First he pulled up really close to this skoolie and put his lights on bright shining his lights in the side windows. Skoolie left so he pulled over by my class c like 5' away in this HUGE empty parking lot. He messed around in his truck for 5 minutes then he pulled over closer to the building and sat with engine running for 20 min before finally leaving. How sad that this was the best thing he could figure out to do with his time.

Still selling at 6bop. We got 100 liters. It’s the house with two wooden doors (not blue anymore!) right before the military zone begins (20 meters before the stop sign). Boy even filled into the tank for us. Perfect service!

I'm really impressed with this spot, not too much noise coming from the main road but also not 30min drive up a road to the middle of nowhere. Nice creek to take a dip in if you don't mind freezing water. But a nice space for your group

Now called "Shepherd's Dawg Wash & Laundromat", we thought we found somewhere to do our laundry as we have been on the road for 3 weeks. Only one dryer working, place is dirty and run down, lots of Out of Service signs on machines, and machines are used by coal miners. Elected to wait and do our laundry somewhere else.

EN-We visited the site, finally we did not sleep here. We asked about showers and they told us there were none.

Great Spot to sleep. Super quiet road, huge lot, picnic tables and a lovely soccer field. Some work trucks that were there started making noise in the morning but the lot is big enough we just parked further away and it was fine. I would definitely stay again felt very safe and quiet.

Stayed here 3 nights. Today we noticed No Overnight Parking signs. It looked like someone was currently installing them.

Quedamos una noche sola, calle estrecha, con mucha gente yendo y viniendo, bueno para hacer un paseo en la playa e los morros pero demasiado movimiento si quieres quedarte tranquilo.

Gaby is THE person to leave your dog with if you need to leave Quito for a while or are going to climb Cotopaxi. She is absolutely amazing. Best dog hotel we have ever been too. Her WhatsApp is +593990339086. Tell her Alex with Paquito sent you. Find her reviews on Google Maps by searching the title above. $12/day. She can pick up and deliver. You’ll find only 5-star reviews on Google. She even gave our dog eye drops multiple times daily without charging extra. I definitely recommend her!

*Note: this address is the address she has on Google but is NOT her real address for security purposes. Please message her for the exact coordinates.

This place is amazing. Very professional. After a botched urine test at MediPet Clinica Veterinaria (AVOID THIS AWFUL PLACE) that left our dog in physical pain and traumatized, Doctor Patricio and his team took care of him. They did various ultrasounds to see what was wrong with our dog and determined it was a blood clot that eventually went away. He was very patient and explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. The prices were reasonable. You can get detailed urine and blood tests done here. We did a basic blood test and a parasite blood test to determine that our dog had Ehrlichia and anemia. Fast, professional, and with various specialists like eye doctors that were great too.

the Hostel is still running. Aurora has space for up to 12 persons. Premises are clean. Costs is 8-10 $. She prepares excellent meals for 3 $. She can also arrange taxi to the Imbabura Trailhead for those interested.

Better is to contact Aurora in advance via WhatsApp under +593 93 902 3874 (as she works often in the city in parallel).

There are a couple of established campsites that have a picnic table and fire ring in each site. When I arrived there was no signage or info so you have to get the hipcamp app to reserve. We stayed one night with no problems. There are electric and water hookups but we didn't use them. The place was clean and quiet and let's all keep it that way. There's also a walkway to go down onto the beach. There are no toilets or amenities of any kind. Also no trash cans so take it all with you when you leave. Enjoy!
