Still a great spot for tenting along the stream and a bit further from the road. Short dirt track down has a bit of a gully, but no problem getting down and back up with our 2wd car. Would be fine with a van too I guess, just check it out on foot if in doubt. Stream is fastflowing and cloudy at the moment, so not the best for swimming or drinking.

beautiful spot with no restrictive signage. enough room for large rig to turn around in the loop. no amenities, 4 bars. some shade, lots of wildflowers. didn't camp here this time, but will stop back going east again.

It’s there, but undesirable. Would only recommend in an emergency.

The dump and water are as pictured. Very friendly employees. Got our Safeway discount at the pump for diesel.

Sign at entrance says closed to through traffic. I think they may be fixing up the part. Didn’t want to stay to be safe, but I’m sure I could have.

This is not free! I had to buy a parking ticket and an admission ticket. Parking was like 22. Could be because of the time of year not sure. But it’s fairly quiet except for the busy busy flights of all kinds of aircraft over us including lots of helicopters. It is very nice though. Will go through the museum tomorrow.

Gravel road off 425th Street.
Sign for the Rice Lake Wildlife Area.
Nice quiet spot at the boat access on Rice Lake.
Not a lot of level spots so we parked in the center grassy area. 1 other van here.
You can hear and see the train across the lake which was cool! (Not very noisy).
LOTS of ankle biter flies so I definitely recommend screening!

Free place with pit toilets right on the river. 3 picknick tables each with a fire ring. But plenty of space to park and camp without one.

Overall good. It is a parking lot but since it's paid, there's less need for "stealth" & slides can be out, etc. It was not obvious where the check-in/pay station is: near the small green & white hut.
The potable water is not obvious and others have indicated they didn't find. It is close to the street not far from the entrance nearest the RV space, a thin yellow pipe with a small sign.

Oh, and not specifically related to this place, there are showers & laundry at VIP Laundry near Costco & Walmart.

It looked to be a great free campground that was well kept. We, however, needed to do dinner and set up tent. In less than 30 seconds we were entirely covered in mosquitoes, they were everywhere. So a great place if you are in a camper or just doing a quick pull in and straight into the tent. However, if you are wanting to enjoy any amount of time outdoors the mosquitoes are too much

Camped there for two nights and it was really nice.
Great view and calm at the night.
There is a open Wi-Fi from the gas station also with the possibility to use the restroom there.
Worth it.

Nice place.

I came on the winter time and nobody was there at the entrance. However, after a while, the owner came by (with not a happy face) and I manage to pay 5000 Chilean pesos per person.

It’s better to contact them before arriving:

Exxon that is big and maybe new. Many pumps for gas and separate diesel island. Dump drain is currently unlocked, located away from the main building by the side street and near the diesel island. Love it

very limited for campsites in cannon beach area. this dead end is a beach trail entrance and the only road that doesn't have a no parking sign. only slept in truck camper and set nothing up to not disturb houses. parked later at 9pm and left by 7am out of courtesy. beautiful way to wake up

Lots of roadside parking. No signs prohibiting it. 3 other rvs on the road as we pulled in tonight at 9:30pm. plenty of space to not be on top of eachother. keep it open! leave no trace, keep your slides in and don't overstay, they already have no overnight signs up at the trailheads and parking lots. This is one of the last free spaces near town.
