Beautiful place with stunning views of the mountains to the north. The lake leaves something to be desired.

Couldn’t figure out how to get the hot water to actually come on. Water pressure fluctuates with toilet flushes. If someone figures out the best way to get the hot water to work in the women’s bathroom, please share!

Stunning Mountain views. If you are coming from great basin the right hand turn is about 1/10 of a mile before Google Maps says to turn.

I reserved a space in the no service tent camping section. I was the only one there. it looked like no one had camped there for awhile. there were metal campfire containers that were rusty rather than with ashes. there was one small washroom with a toilet and sink. no one greeted me when I arrived. there were some kayaks by the water... a small pond. I left because I did not feel safe. I spoke to another couple who had also checked out the campground. they also left for similar reasons. I would not recommend this campground.

Great spot - you drive through what looks to be a neighborhood but you’ll eventually hit national forest. Drove it in a 2wd suv all the way down to the river and it was fine. It’s further than this pin suggests, I just kept going down roads until I found a spot I liked, which happened to be next to the river.

Large area with spaces for at least a dozen rigs/tents, along a ledge overlooking Frenchman Coulee. Note that the ledge has no guard rails and drops at least a hundred feet straight down, but there are spots both along and away from the edge. The surface is part gravel and part hard basalt and can be sharp in places, so tents and tires beware. There are two entrances, both difficult for very low clearance vehicles, but the west entrance is navigable for almost anything if care is taken. We've been here several times in the past with a fairly low-clearance Promaster van, and most recently with a medium clearance Transit, and never had issues getting in or out or finding a beautiful level spot. No services, but there are pit toilets about half a mile further down the road (and more a couple miles further at the boat launch). Several fire pits scattered around the area. Cell service is variable but generally usable for basic streaming across the major carriers. (Starlink will generally work better here if you have it.) This area has zero shade and can get very hot in the summer, so best used during shoulder seasons. Also note that when it is windy (as it often can be—note the wind turbines lining the far side of the river), the wind funnels up the coulee and straight past this area, so wind gusts can be significantly enhanced. All that said, this place is one of our favorite boondocking areas, with great views down the coulee and across to a waterfall (a short hike away), unbeatable sunsets, and excellent access to rock climbing and boating. On good weekends, this place can get understandably packed. It was not hot but very windy this weekend, so we were one of only three rigs and two tents. Better weekends will see a good 3-4 times that number.

definitely want at least 8 inches of ground clearance, lots of mosquitoes and biting flies during the day.

Spent two nights in here, a bit noisy during the weekend but safe. We didn’t find the water nor the electricity.
Easy to get a SIM card in the minimarkets around. We withdrawed money without any comission in Banco Loja.

Was going to stay here but it was closed. Now that I have Internet the website says "Tentatively opens on July 1, 2023 depending on snow conditions." Not sure why so late. Stayed at Eagle Creek instead.

I slept two night and it was really nice.

A lit bit noisy from 7h30 AM to rest of the day due the traffic on the road and the movement of cars and truck on the gas station.

There is Wi-Fi, water and hot showers (for 1500 pesos).

The view from here is great!

The termal pools are awesome, but the hotel was the DIRTIEST I have seen in my entire trip (6 months). We were given a room and were told all rooms are 50S. At first glance room looked ok but the bathroom was dirty : poop in the toilet, used toilet paper in the bin,
toothpaste and hair in the bathroom sink… I politely asked if they could come and clean, and instead they gave us another room, which was ok. The boy asked me if the bathroom was good, I checked the sink and it was covered with brownish spots of dirt water that dried. Also brownish spots on the toilet, and very weird brown traces all on the walls… I said that the sink didn’t look very clean, and asked if they had sponge and cleaning product and he said no… there were one sheet on the mattress, but none under the blankets… we slept in our sleeping bags.
then next morning between 7 and 8am, ladies opened our door and asked what time we arrived last night, what time we were leaving, asking to see the ticket… we stayed 2 nights and same next day, 7:30 the lady knocked at the door… weird, not nice and dirty.

You can camp for free if you pay the entrance to the bath (7S).

Went in and asked if we could park for the night and they said "absolutely not a problem." Show up late and leave early as to not spoil this incredibly convenient spot.

An excellent garage. Specialising in landrovers and landrover restoration.
We had a fuel pump failure and we were in and out in 24 hours fully repaired.
Very friendly owner and good enough English to be extremely helpful, translate can be helpful.
Very professional work and keen to help. Could not reccomend Umut and his team more.
They are a wonderful and very passionate team.

Easy to find and very quiet. Hardly visible from the road and no one came and bothered us. Very good spot for a tent.

We had a nice meal here, whilst watching a football game and there was a DJ playing, all at the same time. Quite hectic, but somehow it works. Friendly owner too. They have a generator as well, which I believe not too many places in town have. So even during power outages, you can still order everything on their menu.

Wanted laundry and showers, so good for that. People nice. When we called, they said we could park our 17’ van on tent site normally ($40+tax) but not last night due to rain—would damage grass and gravel. So reserved what we were told was 15 amp site, listed at $50+tax. Realized when we arrived had been charged $55+tax. They said because site was 15/30. We said we were told 15. They finally gave us CAA discount. We were parked on somewhat grassy gravel. Could see no difference in terrain between serviced and unserviced sites. Sites very narrow. But today was beautiful sunny day for more time in Halifax and tonight we’re boondocking on Grand Desert Beach.

Cheap stay for 1 night, we paid 120 somoni pp. for a double room with breakfast. Bathroom and toilet were shared. Place is not really clean but the owners were helpful. We were able to leave our car there for another day while we did the Jizev trek. They got us a contact of a taxi driver who took us to the bridge and picked us up next day for 400 somoni.

We left Kalaikhum at 5:00 and the first roadwork sites were open. We only had to wait once for 40 mins at 9:00 at 38.2616,71.3703 but we were let through after 40 mins of waiting.
There didn't seem to be much activity on the construction sites, perhaps because it was Saturday.
