Great spot. There were two other vehicles parked in one spot and we used the other. lots of room for more than a couple of rigs. The road is sandy so not bad in the rain, however it is small so I wouldn't want to take a trailer in here. |

beautiful campground with literally sparkling clean bathrooms. we were able to have a fire and hang a hammock. Owen creek trailhead is not as nice but much closer to the parks entry if you're just stopping for the night. if you're staying a while it's worth it to come out here. |

Pretty and clean park with a lake and a few picnic areas with roofs (great in the rainy season!). It's not the quitest place, as the park is next to the big road and you can hear a few mosques nearby. But for one night it's okay. I couldn't find any toilets. Across the street, there are two local and cheap restaurants that are open in the evening. |

Quiet place (even on Saturday) and beautiful view on the lake. Restaurant in front is ok to eat and staff are nice. They accepted to fill the water tank but there was no electricity so we couldn’t. |

Various beautiful places in front of the beach. There were many local peoples around because of national holiday. However, we spent three quit nights. The land is cultivated by farmers, but it is okay to stay there (a farmer confirmed this). Do not miss visiting the monastery nearby on the hill. You can reach it on foot or by 4x4 drive. |

Wonderful little campground. $25 for power. Potable water and dump for an extra fee. Quiet and pretty well maintained. Some Trees could use a trimming around the campsites for easier access. |

Plenty room for everyone. There was 1 big RV parked near the entrance of the pull off and a smaller one further in. A couple vehicles came by (not sure if they stayed). Slept well and did not hear any traffic. |

Stayed in Pa-Co-Chu-Puk Campground the first night then moved to Dakota Terraces. Both were nice, bathrooms were better at the first one but both were clean. Verizon signal better at Dakota. |

Second stay here (last time was 2021) and we enjoyed it at least as much as last time. Stayed four nights. 20 degrees cooler than the city of Gilroy and surrounding area. Some nights were nippy, but nice. We like site #207 and that back loop. It’s a bit of a walk to the shower house, but I saw a mule deer and chipmunk on the way. Bathroom and spigot for dishes is right there. 207 backs onto one of the trails. Caspian set a personal best and hiked 6.38 miles during our stay. Highly recommend this campground. It is a bit of a climb getting up there and I wouldn’t want to do it in a big rig (though people do all the time). There is open WiFi at the ranger station if you really need it. We had some cell service at our site (Mint Mobile). |

I had only a 3m stretch of mud on the whole route. Nothing really to mention.
But it seems reviews from the last years sound different. I would recommend to head into the Tourist info in Murgab. They even called the local ranger to give me the status of the road.

Wild camp next to the road but perfectly hidden. Old sidetrack to existing road only accessible from the eastern side. Flat area with jungle on both sides. Even saw Monkeys and elephant tracks. Only few cars passing, very few mosquitoes and nobody around - just jungle sounds. |

Laundry was done in less than 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon! Great service 10/10 Edit: We didn’t realize until the next day we were missing a very important expensive sports bra. When we went back to ask for it, the lady was the most unhelpful person I’ve ever encountered and after asking multiple times, she never even got up off her lazy a$$ to take a look around for it. She just told us to come back tomorrow at 7. Just make sure you check that all of your stuff is accounted for when picking up. A lesson we’ve learned the hard way. |

Not many places left like this where you can spend the night in such a historically rich location. We arrived around 7pm and the “guard” or whoever was at the parking area didn’t even take a second look as we drove right past and down into the area near the amphitheater. I would say a 4x4 is needed to get down to the flat ground or at least some good ground clearance. No disturbances all night and evening. In the morning the shepherd walked his goats through. Otherwise it was magical and is a beautiful place. The tombs nearby are accessed best from the parking lot and there are so many. It’s a great walk in the morning. After we went back to the car park the “guard” or whoever this person is at the parking area offered us tea and gave us a bag of fresh vegetables! He also let us fill our water from a hose connected to the fresh spring. Clearly there is little regulation or care here. The people are nice and site is stunning. Be respectful and enjoy it while it’s still like this 😁 |
