we come from caleta junin and drive north to pisaqua -drive this road only with real offroad knowledge! no big rig!
sometimes it is very small. two sections are extremely steep and sandy (4x4 only) and one curve is so narrow that you can only do it backwards to the next curve! a little further is the last point to return. don’t!!!! go on. the road is cut off 1 km bevor the paved road. we had to go backwards. no fun at all.

Wood Shelter, in small Plaza. Close mini-park. Nice, and ocean landscape.
Not a wildcamp, but just in case, for a tent one night, or to cook...

We shipped our car from india to chile.
Abraham was very helpful. He needs three working days to do everything
Day1: go to his office, hand in carnet and passport, they bring it to customs to get the approval to initiate the export process. Once granted you need to bring your car to customs warehouse leave it there
Day2 go to the warehouse to make customs inspection. They do net deep search in the car
Day3 got to the warehouse, they bring the container. You stuff it in. Wait again for customs and steamer approval to seal the container. Go to abrahams office again, make payment and collect your passport.
If you need the carnet back, maybe on day 4 depending on customs.

Was straightforward processing but it is still india and simple steps like waiting for the container to get out on the ground from truck can take 2 hours

Transit Visa Single Entry 15000 CFA for 8 Days. You need to give an exact entry date, but you can entry and exit DRC in this 8 days period. So you don't have to entry DRC on the exact day you have chosen for your Visa.
1 Picture, 1 form and they took a copy of my Benin and Angola Visa.

Embassy opens at 0930, so have been there at 0930 and Visa was ready at 1200 and the embassy closed at 1300.

This is a great BLM site.they have recently added additional campsites. It appears to now be fed camping and the “big open site” referenced by another reviewer now has a pit toilet!

As mentioned the views are gorgeous. It was snowy while we were there and that makes it that much prettier!

We wanted to camp there, first tried the restaurant. We didn’t like it. We didn’t felt welcome, dirty tables, no running water in the restrooms. We didn’t liked the food. Had Fish in garlic butter. Garlic was black, fish wasn’t well coked. Either they had a bad day or they don’t care (anymore)? So we decided to leave.

Beautiful campground under high trees in the South West Forest National Park. Three large bays that can share a number of vehicles if it is busy. Long drop toilet and fire places. Different walking tracks nearby. Water from rain water container. Park access and camping are free of charge. Although we visited in the peak season we had the site almost ourself. No mobile reception.

We asked the police and the locals both told us that it was ok to park here. Every one told us it was secure, but we know we are by our own risk.
Lovely view of the lake.

Mostly quiet except for the seals and the occasional person. Additionally it seems to be a popular meeting place for police officers. They didn't bother us, but depending on your opinion on cops, you may want to avoid this spot.
