Big parking lot very close to the center of Xalapa. It's open on weekdays from 8am to 9pm, on saturday from 8am to 2pm. You can stay overnight, the gate is closed at night. Costs 14 Peso per hour.
To get there, drive on Calle Francisco Javier Clavijero and turn right after the restaurant Pollo Feliz.

Great dog park... free!

Most dog parks in the area require a pass to get in involving a fee and providing vaccination records. This is a normal dog park without all that... beautiful park

Hello
Good place to park your motorhome during the day to visit the town or going to the river.
But at night the young people come here ( it's normal)and this place can be noisy...
The problem is when a drunk man is arriving first time around 10pm and insult us..., he come back around midnight he make so much noise around our truck and was very agressive with us (may be he was drunk since the first of the year...!)
We decided to go away because the situation seems dangerous and without no issue!

Quiet, atmospheric Zapotec ruins with great views across the valley. You could probably camp for free in the lot. Bonus: lots of small mezcal distilleries near by.

An excellent restaurant down the street from Copper Canyon Trailhead Inn. This was the third place we ate in the area and by far the best. The restaurant is cozy and the food probably the best we’ve had thus far. They serve all of the basic Mexican dishes and have a few specials of the night. We ordered chicken enchiladas and were very impressed. A main dish costs around 100 pesos. Highly recommended!!

Highly recommended! Erik came to our RV and fixed an electrical issue we were having and he also fixed our awning. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Don’t waste your time with anyone else. He only lives in Mazatlan for six months a year (returns to Manitoba, Canada for the summer months).

Two companies which do the car ferries have their offices in this street opposite the small harbour. We paid 655tl for driver & 1pax and our 6mtr womo to go to Girne on the overnight ferry. Parked and slept here while waiting for 10pm next evening to go thru customs and immigration hoping for no delays or cancellation.

As previously described. Excellent private ablutions and facilities next to flat sheltered camp spots. But it is in the village so not the most inspiring setting, and do not expect quiet!

Sounded like 50 local dogs howling & barking at 02:30, air compressor at the garage next door at 03:00, traffic noise from around 04:30 - closely followed by drilling on a nearby construction site. And then of course you have the cockerels from first light. Also, security lights around camp are, as seems to be the case so often in African campsites, bright and not sensitively positioned. So you need to be able to sleep in near daylight conditions.
So overall, not a bad stopover, but bring earplugs and blackout eye mask if you want to get some sleep!

We left Isfahan and no way to got diesel on the two previous station...they were so unfriendly and helpless people. Here we finally could have some diesel, we had to use the card from a truck driver. Normally as tourist we pay 6000 rials per liter but here they charge you the local price 3000 rials per liter. Very fair and friendly staff.

Don't try to go further in this way, we get stuck with our 2WD. And a little bit further, 4WD get stuck too. It took us many hours too go out even with their help...
Just try to go as far as possible from the dunes and it's totally ok with 2WD.

Parked in a nice shady grassy spot for $10 a night for 2 people. We did not require electricity. Owners Carla and Alex were very friendly. The use of the pool was included. Decent Bathrooms with showers. Night watchman and gate. Cabañas look nice too. Short walk to the beach and to restaurants but there is also a restaurant on site.

We wanted to stay here another night, we parked on the other street, more in front of houses and around 9pm, 2 police officers came to tell use they got a complaint about ya smoking marijuana, which is not true... We told them we just arrived 5min before, it wasn’t us. Then they told us that this neighbourhood was “no”. So we moved to Walmart parking open 24h.

Amazing climbing spot in the middle of the mountains just 7km from Pitumarca. There is climbing for all leveles and rock is volcanic top quality. There are 60+ routes, ranging from superplom to overhanging. Topos can be found easily online, download them before coming as there is not much cellphone service up here.
Altitud is 4200 aprox.
Road that leaads here from pitumarca is not the best, but we made it on our 2WD peugeot Boxer.
They charge 3 sol p/p per day for camping and 2 sol p/p for climbing.

The signs are under construction. The coordinates for the trailhead are correct; the trial starts in easterly direction, where there is an arrow.

We were informed that the trail had 130 meters of altitude difference. Our GPS clocked 560 meters of total altitude gain, making this a moderately difficult hike.

We enjoyed this hike tremendously. Great views, nice passages in forest, big meadows, ridges to be climbed.

The best place to take a break is after the 6 kilometer mark, close to the water and well protected from the wind.
