just a little update, also lacking information on this crossing so figured I would share. My experience is leaving Bissau to Conackry.
Customs and passport stamping out done in the same place. They weren't sure about what to do with the passavant. They stamped it and gave it back. I didn't really care because they let me leave the border so no problem. The Conackry side was also easy and friendly. I guess if you already have your visa sorted you won't have a problem. They will tell you to park at the douane and then walk up the road 30m to immigration. Go to immigration and get stamped in, friendly dude. Go back to duoane, he just records your details, says you don't need a passavant but I will be getting one tomorrow morning here in Koundara since I've had some unfriendly experiences with cops and customs a few times now and could not be bothered with the argument about the passavant.

The road...at least for motorbikes is totally fine in the dry on the Bissau side from Gabu. The usual potholes and broken road for a while, which bikes can just avoid off the side. last 20km or so is easy piste, averaged about 70km/h. The Conackry side is a bit of a laugh, would not enjoy it in a 4x4 due to the probable slow progress, but on a bike in the dry it's generally fine but a bit slow going just taking a bit of care. The road on the Conackry side maaaaay be possible in a 2wd but you would be needing a lot of spotting I think to get through without a problem. I guess the ferry may be the easier route for cars. Fine for 4x4 but slow progress in spots. There, all the information you were ever wondering about this crossing :)

Correct location I think...went to hotel De Ville and was full so the guys kindly showed me to this place on their bike. As above, basic place with bucket shower and western toilet. Ok for a night but hot at night.

We stayed here in a 22 foot camper for 3 nights and it was great! Has a dump station, water to fill up your tanks, bathrooms, HOT showers and tables/fire rings at some of the spots. Online registration is easy; stay here max of 8 nights in a row, 30 days in the year. T Mobile gets pretty good service.

I started at 11:00 from San pedro and arrived this point 16:30. I wish ı started after luch. Anyway, It is a good spot before 4640, left side on the road there is another road near the canyon. I went down and but my tent near the sand wall. it protects the tent and hide it . Nice view and nice weather March 2019

We came here for a full fluid change / service. They went above and beyond to look after us and search for parts that we needed. Good price, one of the guys speaks fluent English. Can’t recommend enough.
They will let you stay overnight if you are unable to drive while they work.
They’re got a big space, big rigs will fit here.

Hidden behind trees of forrest next to the field quite far from the road. I reached the place with normal personal car without any problems. Can be muddy while raining same as I had, but as I said no issue with 2wd. Very quite and silent place, not breaking of any rules or crossing any forbiding signs. Its on the boarder of field so it can be agricultural land, but wild camping generaly tolerated in France. I stayded two nights and was good! Enjoy!

Dry camping still $20. No WiFi!! My reason to come here was the Fast WiFi Sign. I changed it to "No WiFi" because I was told that it will probably take more than a year to have the new system installed that would then give coverage for the whole area. To top my disappointment, it was extremely windy; several tents were blown away.

This is a restaurant and hotel with a big parking lot where you can stay without paying. Next to the river. Kind of crowded at dinner time. They let you use bathroom facilities . Good place for one Night.

Awesome campsite in the middle of the canyon. Well maintained, lots of spots several close together and well maintained pit toilets. The drive in would definitely be more comfortable in a 4x4 though I’m sure crossovers and SUVs could handle it. Wouldn’t recommend doing the drive with full camper trailer. No Verizon service

Marlon is the owner and is super friendly, it's possible stay free and use the bathroom and shower for free. Nice and good quality on menu with local foods.
The parking it's literally on the beach and it's normally windy which is nice for sleep at night. Safety and quiet place but weekends the locals come to enjoy in this beach but everyone friendly.
They have private rooms and a six bed's dorm and if you want a good price go for talk with them.

Camp in the desert 150m away from the gravel road. Coming from Uyuni this was the first dry spot for a long time. (There where salt lakes with water in March). Visible from routa 5, but almost no traffic. Free camping spot big enough for big rigs.

It‘s only allowed to stay outside on the street. The parking lot is only available for students. It‘s controlled by security staff and he kindly asked us to leave the parking lot. Indeed the wifi worked well;-)

We stumbled upon this resort - Villaseca Resort - because there were no RV parks in Leon. It is 11.5 km north of Leon in the hills. They are in the process of building a RV park complete with a pool, concrete pads, and plenty of other amenities. They expect it to be finished by the summer 2019. The sites will have power and water and they are looking at other amenities. When we found the place they invited us to stay even though they didn’t have the park ready. We were able to park beside the restaurant close to the washrooms. They asked for our feedback as to what campers require so we gave them a long laundry list.

They currently have cabanas, restaurant, bar, 3 swimming pools, hotel, conference/event Centre, playground, outdoor climbing wall, hiking and biking trails, three lakes - 2 of which are stocked for fishing, basketball and tennis courts and a 18 hole golf course. The staff were friendly and accommodating- the kitchen was closed but the chef was in and made us breakfast and dinner and the food was excellent. The entire resort is surrounded by a fence and there is 24/7 security at the gate and inside the resort. The views are stunning.

The washrooms are amazing. They have rainhead showers, HOT water (which as you know is a novelty in Mexico), clean and separate bathrooms and showers. After being on the road these were a real treat.

After being on the road in Mexico for the past 4 1/2 months I can honestly say this was the best camping spot we have stayed at in terms of facilities. Here is their website http://villaseca.com.mx/tablet/index.html.

Great shop: very helpful people and very fair price!

Our car was towed from the border ferry to the nearest gas station with a serious issue in the distribution. Yiyo’s guys towed us to the workplace after we walked in to ask for help.

Needed to replace a rotational shock absorber on the distribution and adjust the engine synchronisation. They drove around the entire city for a spare part (and found one) but also could order from US/EU, much cheaper but longer wait. Took a while, but they managed to adjust the engine again properly.

We were allowed to sleep in the van in the garage and use the shower of the garage. Yiyo is making a B&B in his house as well.

Cool parking if you like to go to NGor island or make party at the bayekou! It is free parking so don’t listen to the boys who want make some money there! You can stay there overnight, no problem. It’s a little noisy, but no problems! We stay there about 6 times over night! NGor village is really beautiful! And you get the best brochette in Senegal at this spot. Just walk 2 minutes into the village!
