We almost got stuck with our 2wd class b. A long-term « resident » told us where to park, away from the beach. Walking first and asking is not a bad idea.

It could be a really nice place without the lot of waste. Today the sea had hundreds of jellyfish. Very quiet during the week. Also during daytime.

We were stopped for a police check and while a police man was shaking my hand (to interrupt my attention) he probably touched our car with some device and made an electric short circuit (We don't know how he made it) then he showed me than my front light doesn't work and said than the fine is 996 soles. After few min of convention he asked for propina so we gave him 20 soles & 5USD and he was happy. The other day we went to an electric mechanic and our lights were totaly fine with no issue. The mechanic said that local police do kind of these tricks very often. Maybe try to shut down your car and turn it on again to reset the electric in your car, it might help amd everything could work again properly. Take care.

Beautiful view of the Flatirons.
There’s two entrances, the one on the east did have a large wash out and with a wide angle turn the van did fine in avoiding it. The entrance on the west looks flatter and easier to use. Google maps directed us to the east entrance.

Great hotel literally around the corner from the Costa Rica - Panama border crossing. Fenced, secure parking lot. Clean, big room with aircon. Very comfortable beds & pillows (we had room 1). Good wifi. Cost C21,500 in March 2019.

Nice place. They ask 120 Kwacha pppn now for camping. We still paid 72 Kwacha pppn but it took some negotiation.

I wouldn't recommend this place, at least not for cyclists or people with tents. There were lots of people coming and going late into the night as well as a few big trucks, and there's nowhere to hide from them. I didn't have a problem but a few people woke me up to satisfy their curiosities. Hidden from the main road but the dirt road is actively used so its not a great spot.

Tent camping under a palapa (possibility for parking your campervan), showers (cold), toilets, water for drinking, can use the kitchen - wood stove. Beautiful place!! 15 000 COP/pp. Restaurant by the road but we didn't eat there.

nice pull away from the main road, not too many cars. I have been alone here for 2 days so it must just be busy for the holidays. plenty of picnic tables and fire pits.

it is really not clean here so do the right thing and take a few bits of rubbish with you when you leave.

Gas station offering propane fills. Drove by but thought we would add it to the map - it’s on the west side of the highway a bit south of my pin

They fill tanks and more important they fill RV tanks. They have a green tent with a bell, just ring and they come. Pretty fast !

The first 70 kms fron Ndendé are muddy but easy. Fore sure You'll walk in the mud but nothing really difficult with our 250kgs motorcycles.
The last 200 kms to Diolosie are just nice and easy with no difficulties.
We didn't see any custom out of Gabon, so no stamp on our CPD. There is one on Congo side.
We paid nothing out of Gabon nor In Congo

Stayed here in a 40ft bus, with two other large Buses, and two Toyota dolphins with no issues. There is a pull through at the bottom which is relatively level, spots around it can be level fairly easily. During the day there is a lot of road noise, at night it’s one of the most peaceful places we’ve stayed at.

There is no cell service with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobile, but a hike up the OHV path will take you to a hill top with power lines and poles, you can get relatively good 3G service for notifications, socials, and email.

Be aware of rain if you stay in the middle of the pull through, it is prone to puddling.

As said before still: 50/pP

Lots of rental tent options and +/- 5 good parking options for campers, I can see difficulties for really big rigs .. maybe one possible since it‘s more of a hotel than a campground.

Facilities okay, but power went off after 8 in the showers, so bring your torch just in case.

Easiest start to the ruins (we went at 6 in the morning and were almost alone). Recommended!

Campsites are really nice and secluded, very big sites surrounded by trees with braai and water. Ablutions bit run down, usable but need better cleaning and some maintenance. We came here for the rhinos obviously but got so much more! Lots of rhinos, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, oryx, hartebeest, springbok, impala, ostrich, eland, waterbuck and a pregnant leopard a few meters from the campsite! Price (camp 2 pers and car + park entrance) = 515 pula.

city park that allows camping , large parking lot with plenty of space for a rig of any size .. one covered picnic table with several others along with plenty of trash cans . campfires are allowed but make sure you are 20 feet from the retaining wall at the lake shore .. 2 islands a little ways out to paddle around . spotted a eagle , and had some really nice sunrises ..
be aware it is a kind of local hangout for the younger crowd so there is some traffic overnight . currently there are no services at this location but they do bring portapotties in for the spring/summer season .

spent a night here. honestly found the owner very unfriendly. you pay 50 pesos per person to park on the beach (which is free). the shower is cold, the wifi very slow and the owner superunfriendly with overlanders.

Nice and quiet place, but a little tricky to get there because the „main road“ is know blocked with a big pile of dirt. Just drive right of the dirt to the road, after 200m there is a dry riverbed, maybe you can drive over it with high clearance. But 25m before you can drive of the „main road“, bypassing the riverbed and drive back to the road. After that just follow the road to the Lone Tree Camp. Wouldn‘t go here if it rained, because the road could be really muddy.

Lovely campsites right on the beautiful beach. Nice swell, sometimes windy, but not bad. The people who maintain the ranch and campsites are very nice. They keep a water tank filled for showers and it's not salty. You can surf, fish or collect oysters on the beach. There is a small fish camp just north of the lighthouse where you can buy oysters, fish and lobster from the friendly fishermen. The road in is mostly nice, but there are a few challenging spots. 2 wheel drive okay.

steep steps to go all the way down. I had to carry my bags and bicycle separately. at the entrance there is a place for camping. full day 4.000 pesos half day the owner can make a discount. cabañas el mirador. his name is Julio. thermal pools are OK not very hot but 10 min walking distance thete are natural saunas. 3 wooden cabins and natural volcanic hot rocks where hot air comes out. that worths to carry the bicycle down. camping area there are public bathrooms and cold water shower. ower the picnic table there is light but no sockets. all this place works on generator no electric lines. there is a construction to get thermal water from the ground and connect it to the hotwater lines of all the cabañas and public shower.
