ascended121 | Not much more than a slightly wider part of the road near the very top of forest road 63 in Pisgah National Forest, but has great views and is outside of the Blue Ridge Parkway lands, so legal camping. Quiet night, just 2 cars passed right before dark but otherwise had the area all to myself. Fit my van perfectly and is probably only good for self-contained vehicles. I drove up from the bottom of FR 63 without problems and the road should be good for any vehicle. Barely functional verizon service at this spot. |

ascended121 | Didn't stay here but only because I found in the morning, otherwise I would've. Huge spot right next to the river right at the start of forest road 63. The spot itself looks big enough for a big rig, but the entrance is narrow so probably only for skilled drivers. Road getting up here is passable for all vehicles. No Verizon service. |

meg.hartley | Clean bathroom facilities and covered picnic tables. Right on train tracks so it’s kind of loud but it’s safe. |

instagram.com/lenomadevan | Very nice and quiet park on the Wabash River. I didn’t see any signs restricting overnight parking or camping. No signs whatsoever. There are plenty of parking spaces. I have a 23’ van and easily backed up in a spot overlooking the river.
In the morning a few people came to drink their coffee by the river and walk their dogs.

mel_j_gaunt | Can confirm that this is a good place to stay. We have stayed here in our camper van several times since August (It’s Nov) for varying amounts of time and have not had a single problem. This is where we come when we need a place for a break where we know we won’t be bothered. There is a lady here who stays here year round in her motorhome and she’s been here each time we’ve stayed here. She seems nice and keeps to herself. It can be a little noisy here, but nothing I can’t sleep through. It’s a decent view of the water and smells like lumber and there’s lots of crickets which makes it super peaceful. There’s a public bathroom and a drinking water fountain a short walk away at the Visitor center and always lots of room to park. There is a park near the beach a short drive away and this parking spot is located near the ferry port. Chemainus is a quiet, safe, cute, quaint, friendly town and we aren’t really sure why more people don’t stay here! |

ainsleemoorehead | This is a fine spot for the night. The gps brings you to a picnic area which I’m not quite sure is really intended/allowed to be used for camping. Nobody bothered me but I imagine rangers come to check the bathroom (which was open, yay!) so I wouldn’t push it for more than a night or maybe two |

cminor03 | Been here three days. Surfed each dawn patrol, walking just north of the lot. Camping is primarily to the left when you enter. Follow the hedge line, or can roll into the mangroves for more privacy. Middle and right are for locales parking. Place gets most busy at sunset, then clears out. Huge party of kids that rolled from 8pm to 2am in middle. Garbage sucked this AM, but we all pitched in and cleared the lot. Parties are common in these locales, so bring earplugs, get off grid or pay for a spot, but you already know that. Green Room restaurant was takeout only. Laundry, Markets and what nots close by. TS is pretty amazing. Go slow and enjoy. Oh, and there will be sand... Lots of sand. |

maevemac8488 | Spent one night here in our Sprinter van, anything bigger wouldn’t fit in the spots, of which there are around 8. No signage about overnight parking but since there are houses right there we kept a low profile and no one bothered us. Gorgeous views and great star gazing. Lovely to fall asleep to the sound of the waves! |

Rick Laroux | On Lake Mojave, super quiet, but today is Wednesday, clean pit toilet, very expansive north and south along the lake front. Very washboard road here so air down a bit. It’s November 19th and probably 80 degrees, I drove in last night in the dark and it was 75, perfect! |

waggonerbrooke | Great deal for $10. Easy self registration. Overall great place to stop over for cheap. A bit dirty but just because of the environment being geared towards motorsports. We arrived at about 9pm in November, the property is very dark and not east to find your way around giving it’s a motorsports facility with dozens and dozens of dirt roads. The map to find camp grounds in the facility can be confusing. |
