beautiful point with multiple views of the lake, easy to park facing east for the sunrise. visited in november but seems like a great place to swim off the beaches in warmer weather. 4600’ elevation.

Free entrance and free camping.
Flat cement parking with space for two or three big rigs.
While here, visit the caves (not for fainthearted or oversized people), there are 4 of them. Bring a good lamp.

Nice campsite, you can choose between overland campsite with shared ablutions or a private campspot with own ablutions. We payed $N240 p.p.p.n. for a private campspot.
Very friendly owners, who were interested in our travel stories and like to help thinking about nice places to go to. There is electricity until 8 pm but light at sites is always working.
Very nice bar/chill area around the swimming pool. The pool looked a bit dirty though.
We can definitely recommend this place.

Out of season only as officially there's no entry. Unofficially, it's locals car park and used by fishermen. Small stone and brick pier next to sandy beach and close to the restaurants. Probably noisy in summer, but a very quiet night spent here in November. Poor Internet reception.

Smaller Walmart than usual. I called to make sure it was ok & the manager said just for one night. A few other vans here doing the same.

Maybe we got here with too high expectations due to the nice comments but it wasn't our favorite place for sure. The staff was very friendly but food and accommodation was just okay. In fact the room including the bed was quite dirty. We even had to see the dogs peeing in the restaurant... Maybe it's due to Corona and tourism being down for month now that it's challenging to maintain the whole place well. However, compared to other places the food is definitely overpriced.

Nice large campground with adjacent hiking trails. Just 2 miles off the highway. Showers closed in the winter. Campground has pit toilets that are open . I may be the only person here tonight.

Noisy because of the road right below. We weren’t bothered all night, arrived around 6:30pm and left around 7:30am. Two other vans ~20-24ft vans here. It’s a big patch of dirt and we’re all pretty spread out.

Street parking in an industrial district a few blocks from the Capitol building. Local guy told me rigs sleep over all along Main Street. Super quiet except for jackrabbits in the street. Parking structure nearby. No hassle.

Potable water was available, there was a hose (maybe 10 ft) but we unscrewed it and put on our own and then replaced the original. Good threads on spigot.

Dump station was locked, we didn’t need it so didn’t ask about it.

Dump station and spigot are by the propane it’s the entrance across from the round-about.

Water still available November 20, there's 2 stations, one for dumping & non potable water and the second one it's written potable, the water color is yellowish so i wouldn't recommend that but ok for RV purposes.

From the forest service website:
Hone Quarry Campground is within one mile of Hone Quarry Reservoir. Nearby trailheads lead to popular rock climbing areas. Highlights of the campground include a picturesque stream, a hike to a nearby 15-foot waterfall and an adjacent group picnic shelter that is non-fee and is available first-come first-served.

If you are looking for vehicle storage, this guy was unbelievable. I kept my van with him for a month and a half. He was wayyyy more than accommodating. He has a garage door that is at least 10ft, storage that is heat/cooled. Extremely clean unit, also allows you to wash your vehicle there. I booked my stay with him through stowit.com. I think it’s the easiest process for him. Don’t waste your time calling someone else, this is the way to go. I could not have better things to say about this stay. Coordinates are not perfect as I don’t wanna share other people’s vans in there. It’s in Lakewood CO though.

Amazing spot. There are tons of spots off the main gravel road. We saw quite a bit of wildlife - wild horses, red fox, and heard coyotes, so be careful if you have pets!

There’s a trail that leads off the I believe fourth campsite on your left side while traveling up the road. If you follow that trail it leads to a nice, shaded river! Water is a bit chilly but it’s beautiful. There’s lots of trails to walk that take you to nice views.

I was told there are rangers that come through. Only saw them on the weekends though. The trails with red signs do not allow motorized vehicles and the guy that told me received a $130 fine! So be careful.

I was also told fires are not allowed? There are rings are a lot of the spots. Just be smart and keep fire very small.

Beautiful place!
