Just south of Arsus on the high mountain pass route by the road. Great wild camping overlooking the ocean

I simply called ahead and asked the manager if I could park overnight, was no problem. Only a half hour to G.Smokey Mtn N.P.
You are literally camped out in the middle of a big shopping plaza but its quiet enough...and FREE.
Im surprised this location was not already on this app being so close to the N.P.
Gotta love Cracker Barrel!

Super busy Walmart right on the highway. it was pretty loud and there were train whistles all night long. Because of COVID-19 the lines to get into the Walmart were super long. I'd probably pass on this and try the Cracker Barrel next time, at least there would be less trucks passing through.

Decent place to camp for a few nights, I just don't like seeing the freeway in the distance... but I'll be back for sure! Cell service is better here in the South than North Joshua tree area.

I'm bike touring.
I came here to see if it was possible to camp. Yes you can camp. It's the ruins of a 1930's 5* hotel.
The manager and his wife were friendly and reasonable.
Charged me 100 pesos. I could have bucket shower too and somewhere to charge my phone. They have sockets on the main tree in front of their house.I camped below in one of the arches.Nobody bothered me .Felt safe.He has a night light on down below too.You can camp in many spots. Some noise at night but normal as it's in the town.During the day I packed my bags on my bike and parked it under their house locked. It's not really for cyclist/camping but it's alright for a night or 2.Most people sleep in there cans or cars etc. Some nice views from their too.

Army Corps of Engineer - High View Park is on a long peninsula on the western shore of Bardwell Lake, less than an hour south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area in north-central Texas. The lake has favorable fish and wildlife habitats, providing plenty of opportunities for fishing and hunting, and great locations for camping, boating and hiking. Deer, armadillo, rabbit, squirrel and a variety of bird species inhabit the area.

The road is pretty bumpy, but fairly easily traversable, just take it slow. There are multiple little pull off spots on the way back to the trailhead. It was very quiet in November, and the stars were definitely out in full. I got a little bit of cell signal on ATT.

Couple of parking spots in a pull off of 203 right next to the 395 ramp. Great view of mammoth and plenty of room for a big rig!

Pulled in at dusk. Very little traffic. First spot on road past ranch. Another camper across the road and more down the road. Quiet and dark. Nice big turnaround. Plenty of room for several large rigs.

Large, flat parking lot between “The Beach” pier and the Long Beach Marina and Steve’s Marina Restaurant. No signs and didn’t get bothered at all. Looks like a van stayed as well. It is November and definitely the off-season do not sure if it’d be allowed in summer. Beach is beautiful.

It's a convenient stop in a pinch. the lot was pretty packed rolling in after dark at 7:30 pm. I got a decent Verizon signal, and was able to work withmy hotspot. However, a freight train passes by just about ever hour through the night and there is a bit of road noise. If it wasn't dark then I would have opted to search out a BLM spot near Sunset Crater.

This places RULES for people on the road. Hot clean and huge (untimed) showers, delicious home cooked meals at the restaurant (thanksgiving sandwich and pot roast are 👍) oh and the tollhouse pie is killer! Free RV dump, there is electric hook ups but we didn’t use them. Friendly people working there too! Best shower and some of the best food we’ve ever had on the road, hands down!

We had the Catalyzer clog and they change it! They let us spend the night on the parking lot because the new Cat was delivered next day! Bernie is very helpful and don’t care to stay under your RV fixing it!

Nice enough for an overnight. Just a flat gravel lot. Plenty of room for big rigs. 15 people there when we were, still plenty of space.

Stopped here on our way back east just for a quick pull off. It’s fine, but holy cow is it loud. I don’t usually care about that kind of thing but I’m amazed at the volume of this place.

Edit: after waking up here I can confirm I actually slept totally fine. It IS loud af, but kinda felt like a white noise machine.

Also the whole parking lot is at an angle except the last couple of spots at the back!
