thomas.ngo | stayed here for a couple of house at night. Super cool spot, starry sky. Besides very occassional vehicle passing by, no other noise. Majority of traffic going toward Twisp, so park opposite direction, you won't be bothered by headlights as often. |

maxpower100 | Apparently things have changed drastically. In this village no one speaks any English, so the campsite warden does all the explaining and translating. He explains about the basic build up of a Himba village, then you enter and see a man and woman with their son sitting around and you can ask questions about their clothing and appearance. The boy was lacking his four front teeth as this is Himba tradition (still!). The man was said to be a blacksmith but his tools and fire pit etc couldn't be seen. Then we continued to a couple sitting around and four women with their small children in the shade. In the chief's hut an older woman showed us how they apply the red colour and how they 'clean' themselves. In the end the women gathered and shouted and jumped a little uninspiredly. This was probably supposed to be the dance, but it stopped every 20 seconds apparently for lack of a plan...

tommywooten4 | Nice peaceful camp site. Open 24 hours and office staff and RV residents are super friendly. Camped in the tent area in our van along with one other group but had the place to ourselves. Bathroom and shower available along with a place to dump your trash. Nice large covered common area next to tent sites and one common fire pit in the middle. Highly recommend for a short stay! |

fungifriend | Didn’t feel completely safe here, there was a lot of trash and was kind too close to a neighborhood for comfort. There was enough flat ground for a large two person tent but that’s it. |

6666666666666666666666666six | super cool place, pretty secluded, did not see anyone! I have a 2wd cargo van and made it to the OP's destination easily. you'll pass 2 or 3 gates, after the last one, you make a right into the dunes, you'll be ok as long as u stay on trail, hard packed sand, I prob drove less than a quarter mile after the GPS coordinates, and parked on a mostly flat spot on the left, easy to see at night. plenty of room for multiple vehicles and to turnaround, see pic. I'd like to continue on the trail to the salt flats and may turn back of it gets soft or sketchy. don't worry high clearence really isn't necessary to get to the destination, but my van is lifted 4 inches with m/t tires |

sixwheelseast.com | Great place to stock up on whatever nuts and seeds you prefer in your breakfast. They even sold peanut butter without sugar (a rarity in Chile) and coffee beans per kilo. Lunch break from 14:00–16:00. |

gourdparent | Very lovely little turnout spot on this forest service road! The road was easily conquerable by my very little car and some chains, and the spot was large, clear, and had a good firepit. |

marinakliewer | We made a reservation for our trailer for the weekend. The campground is super small. Our training didn’t even fit in there. It’s near to a fishing village so it very busy. Not recommend for family with kids. There is an open sewage next to it. Very disappointing. We had to leave right away. It was terrible. Only a place for tents and young people. |

Doug McGrew | Very nice State campground with water and electric at site, dump station at entry to park. Very quiet and pretty. Close to New Orleans by Ferry. Visited. Nearby Whitney Plantation while there. Only negative to park was the large hill at the entry gate and office. Back of fifth wheel was dragging due to incline. Some bugs but not bad. Would definitely stay again |
