Just Some Travel | Was not possible to extend here after 9 days in Tajikistan. They said it was too early. They directed me to Darwaz, I will see there. EDIT: Had to come back to Khorog 3 days before expiry due to car problem. It was on a Saturday, so they were not working. A friendly local called the guy and he arrived at the customs by car. I had to make up the story that I wasn't able to reach Dushanbe before actual expiry of the import document. It seems like they really don't like to make the extension, but they helped me out in the end and even came to the office for me. I had to buy a new document and pay the import tax again. No idea if it was a bribe or not. |

facebook.com/2MsOnTheRoad | Just park a car where indicated and go from desk to desk with your documents. There might be a porter to guide you for a tip. Everybody was quite nice, except the car registration lady which we couldn't hear through the glass, bring a pen she had only one and didn't seem happy about sharing. We had nothing to declare, we told the car registration lady we had pasta and canned food. Nobody checked, she said they might... Insurance was also straight forward, $29 for one week, $46 for two, $60 for a month. If you are not sure where to go or park just keep asking people around. |

thisbigroadtrip.com | This seems to be a common area for police bribes based in the Hoy No Circula traffic regulation that stops certain license plates on certain days being on the road around Mexico City. There seems little show where this restriction actually starts but the police seem hot at this point and have been asking for 7,000 to 14,000 pesos despite the fine being around 2,000. Some have got away with a 30 USD, some more. We feigned absolute (rather than partial) inability to speak spanish. we ended up not paying anything (long story, our dash cam helped) but if it happened again I would offer something like $30 as "all I have senior!". I wouldn't pay a bribe usually but in this case we were actually in the wrong so .. Definitely make sure you read up on the restriction rules prior to getting anywhere near Mexico City. |

g.pillonel | The little village was probably abandoned because of lack of water. There is a well with the bucket and a few dozens of litters. But the water is slightly salty. The houses can be used for wind and sun shadow. Good for cyclists. |

Wi-Fi ok but be sure you get the one on your floor, as it is the receptionist that puts the password just make sure she puts on the right router. They told me the water was good to drink and I did. |
