Eastbound by motorcycle. rainy season and lots of rain, including the night before. However, I had a nice sunny day.
First 100kn out of Bafoussam was tar, much glass smooth. 100km at end mix of old tar and dirt gravel. Middle 80km all dirt gravel.

Took me close to 9 hours at modest speed. A few spots for that blog photo ops and to embellish the story, but not too challenging. I'd leave closer to dawn in a car, unless you drive like the locals. Some lifted Corollas on the road, and they were making it.

With light rain, it would be a little slippery in spots for a motorcycle but doable if you're a v strong rider? Likely fine in the land cruiser. heavy rain in the rainy season send pictures....

No gasoline in Banyo when I was there. Last gasoline is in Bankim I'm told.

we arrived at night in los organos. there was noone there at tiki surf hostel s we asked if we could camp here. they let us stay for free and let us use the comunal kitchen
the restroom they let us use was the one that is ensuite with one of the dorms, so a bit tricky cause we wouldn't have the key and had to arrange with the other guests. like that it was a good place for the night.

Great place to stay - very quiet and beautiful views!!! We even managed to get up there with our big rig (MB1017 - after a recommendation in the village) but it is a struggle, you need 4WD and the street is narrow - but when you‘re up there it‘s a perfect place...

Ok spot for one night, between HWY 1 and railways. There is a old sign at the end of the lot, possibly saying private property, no camping. Slept here with another camper and car. The walkway on the bluffs has beautiful views. There is a “real” bakery the Whale City Bakery, amazing!! The pastries sell out quickly.

On this place were the police and some soldiers. They controlled our passports (The driver needs the original), driver license (copy) and the TIP (copy). They were friendly.

The one near here on the highway we couldn't find. This place was friendly and quick, 20mxn per garrafon but filled our 23l container 3 times for us to the brim. Open 8am till 3pm.

Arrived around 4pm and no one was there. You can see the lines from the parking lot. Not very big, only four images. We had tea time here, nice and quiet spot for that.

A fancy place to stop if you’re looking to splurge OR... if you call ahead they have space for motor homes and campers.

They have pools, a laundry, hot showers, quinchos (outdoor kitchens), lots of places to rest in the shade if you don’t want to be cooped up in your cabin or RV and they accept pets. They’re also kid friendly and have a trampoline, play equipment and a slide into the pool... and a restaurant on site with a full bar.

They get really busy during the on season so you need to call or book on their website.

Nice place at entrance of the Muelle ex-Island Alacran. Parking área. Without facilities. Quiet at night, near downtown, near marítim port, in front of "Morro de Arica". All iluminated and the police pass frequentely. Restaurant and food trucks available.

Main Plaza of Aiquile. We spent 2 nights here, no problem. No much noise at night. The market is crossing the plaza. You have bathrooms there for $1 (no showers).
You have power plug 220v in the plaza lights.

Right next to the beach, maybe a 5 minute walk to the shore. Just regular street parking. Check the signs, there are meters but after 6pm you are fine to park for free, have to pay for parking again in the morning if you stay later. Right next to nicer beach homes. Can be noisy because of people walking around beach area. Good for a night if you can’t find anywhere else.
