People: according with the bolivian law you are allowed to carrying 120 littes of fuel out off the main tank, that means jerrycans! The only forbidden thing is cross an international border with that fuel.
Policemen in Bolivia always ask money, specially if you’re a gringo, try with a smile avoiding arguments.

Clean, quiet, nice place. Can fit rigs up to at least 2.3 meters. They have wifi, hot showers, and a clean kitchen.

All in all a good and relaxing place to spend the night.

excellent place to park a van and sleep.
On a Tuesday night it was very quiet. fishermen came around 4:30 but luckily I didn't park too close to the shore and they could do their business with the boat. expect 3 to 4 cars in the morning. people started to come in the morning around 8:30.
a bit of trash everywhere and 0 amenity.

Another checkpoint going south labeled for meat I believe. Detour of the main highway, stop sign and blinking red/amber light.

Actual location slightly North as I drove on when nobody was there.

City park just south of Marathon. Bathrooms very clean and open all night with power. Caretaker helped us get water (he happened to be there). Plenty of space to park. Caretaker said no problem staying overnight here.

We did see a police officer in town who said “technically” there is a curfew.... We took as, no one will bother us.

There is potable water faucet about 10meters before the first building that is available all the time. The others don’t stay on...

so there is a bit of confusion between three different spots where you can pay for parking with kind of these coordinates, so I just post here.

we first went to the one with the painted wall (which should be 50 per night, 100 for 24 hours). nobody was there and the new toilets were closed, so we left to the grassy one just adjacent to it. the friendly guy asked for 150 pesos for parking until the next day 3 pm (clean toilets with running water all night, fence is closed and locked in evening, 100% safe). I asked if 120 are OK and he aggreed. later that day we also saw an overlander family in an RV parking for free on the parking lot with the painted wall. The whole area feels very safe. also, you can use the toilets from the adjacent grassy one for 5 pesos if you are not parking there.

Parkingspot leftside when driving from Oatman to Kingman, just about 1 mile/km. after the fifty's old gasstation. No gasoline anymore there! Very calm, almost no cars passing on the road 100m/300ft. away. 66-road panel on the spot with all the 66- track designed from LA to Chicago.

Big dormitory, 80k/pax. Very friendly owners. Best dinner in Vietnam, 70k/pax.
Only for treckers or bikers as the access is a very strong and narrow bridge.

Wonderfull historical place well restored by Jose and his familly. Very interesting tour of the mission. Really good place to sleep under milkyway. We payed 200 pesos for the night and gave a little more as donation.
It is always a pleasure to support this kind of people who spend their entire life to restore this World héritage site

ATTENTION

Couldn't find the road first. Parked at the end of one of the roads there.
Around 930 PM we were approached by armed men with weapons pointed at us. One of them was wearing a police uniform.
They told us that we are on private property and let us go after we were friendly and able to communicate that we are tourists and mean no harm.
We left the place immediately and stopped at the next gas station.

Went there to get tourist visas. Be there early, it's a very busy place. We paid about 4 700 000 rials visa's fees, plus 300 000 rials to pay ladies filling your form on the computer (even if you come with your web form printed out), possible to get pictures there 250 000 rials.
Came back 8 days later to pick it up, 6 months-multiple entries, they keep your passeport while this time.

Off the road there are these planted woods or small forest. I drove back and parked in a opening at the corners of two of these woods. Very quiet and fresh.

I didn’t cross any gates to get back here, so I’m assuming it’s ok. There is nothing around.

I guess in the distance you can slightly here the road. But barely.

It’s a great place to sleep in because you have lots of shade and quiet.

Totally correct here below, the only difference I waited only 4 days for my visa. If I well understood, they have a meeting every Wednesday to approve visa requests. Anyway, very easy to got it. Miss Alice, at the desk was very nice.
