After driving many 4x4 km through Kenia we found this jewel on the Beach don’t use the gps data from Casanova ,
the road though the dunes is under deep sand,coming from Malindi continue on the main road 5oo m and go right
follow the signs „Che Shale Hotel “ and later „barefoot“.
You will find a beautiful Restaurant and Bar with 5 Tented Cabanas direct on the beach,we were warmly welcomed to park our Cruiser nearby and use all facilities for 800 ksh/pers.

Nice cheap stop over (800kes). Small rooms with clean en-suite and hot shower. The single room we got had a small bed for two. Decent restaurant on site. The entrance port: our car is about 2,50m high and we guess that we had about 30cm left.

Great location for a first night in Thailand

We arrived in the dark and did not find the toilet block which is just next to the large empty beautiful carpark, slightly above it. It was sooooo peaceful and clean. Lots of bins, tables and fab sea views.

really nice campground in a pretty setting. 1 bars of 4G TMOBILE. we were the only ones here and it got down to 12 F overnight. Quiet place this time of year. still well stocked and clean toilets.

We came in December when there was 4 inches of snow. The dirt road was pretty clear and easy to get to. There was about 4 other campers there with us. Very beautiful views.

Exiting Cameroon with Carnets—duane refused to sign. Instead of us returning, he offered to send bike guy to Duane in Banyo —10,000cfa!

Needed place to sleep for one night.

4x4 + roof tent = 17 EUR (hot showers and toilet included (and clean)

Owner and a barmaid speak a little in English, enough to communicate about place and food.

aaaaand I almost forgot to mention - sink at every single camping place is a great convenience.

Right on the beach. Mature trees and shady parking for small number of vehicles and camping. Off the main drag, small numbers of people. Friendly with facilities, toilet and cold shower all free. Cafe has food and drinks so perfect set up on the white sandy beach with free loungers.

Showers closed at this time. Possible that this will be a fee area in the future.

Lovely spot, lake views, showers has great pressure and hot, wifi was better than average and accessible from sites close to the main building

Reasonably quick. A 1-hour crossing.
We weren’t asked for a health check.
Walked to immigration. Paid USD50 each for a single-entry visa into Zambia. Had to fill in our names and passport details into a registration book that was lying around. Got our passports stamped and then in the window to the left, we had to pay ZMW275 for carbon tax (highest category has over 3L engine). Upon receipt of payment you’ll be given a Gate Pass.

Next, we had to pay for Road Toll Tax which cost us USD20 which exempts you from having to pay at tolls. Finally, we had to pay ZMW40 for a Border Crossing Fee to Chipata City Council.

it's a nice quiet place, with farm animals next door. Easy access which let's you skirt driving thru town if you are bigger or towing. Kids are great and leave you to yourself while you are parked. Close enough to bigger towns, and a Toyota dealer (45 mins away).
Still need to get the water turned on, since I am the only one here.
For a nice little spot to chillax for a few days, I can recommend them.

The place is stil there, but there’s a large “for sale” at The front. I’ve tried to ring at The gate, but nobody was there. When I tried to call them i had straight away voice mail.

Free campground at the monument. Only 10 spots, but no worries this time of year. only one other person here. no cell signal (TMO) but quiet and great stars at night.

Nice guy, price is 250$ for one load.
We gave it end afternoon and it was ready for next morning.

Josh is a very kind and good mechanic! He changed the shock absorbers of our VW synchro and helped us with searching parts down in David. He has good connections to all kind of part stores! His shop is small but he has a lot of tools and stuff!
He also made us a very fair price because he knows that most Overlanders are traveling on a low budget! Thank you Josh

Nice spot actually on the dam, Nyala and Kudu came drinking, you hear the lions from the reserve next door and it’s peaceful here as I am the only one camping. Some chalets and tented camp for R350 pppn. Toilets and showers are clean and very friendly owners! Restaurant is not operational yet but you can buy drinks. Camping R120 pppn

Nice place with very friendly people. No problem to stay overnight. The bathroom are not in the best condition.
