Argon Park. At 90° Longitude West, the time zone boundary. No signs prohibiting overnight parking. A few historical and geographic signs.

This is a lovely blend of rocky/concrete pools with warm springs flowing in. The facilities are rustic and accessed by a short hike uphill. (See parking pin). Bathrooms, dressing area, shower, benches. It says no dogs, but the nice man just laughed when I asked. It cost $1,000cop per person. Caution it is NOT a hot springs.

This is the wide spot in the road to park for the walk to the pools. Even our wide rig could scoot over enough to allow passage of others. Could spend the night here. Possible to level.

Definitely not allowed to camp in the national park here. A ranger came by in the morning and wrote us a ticket.

They want you to pay for each day you enter the park, and to camp in a designated campground. So, stay here at your own risk :)

Indeed very food food. fair prices. We had a generous and tasty chaufalan quinua veggies and fish ($6.5) and a heart of palm ceviche. As started a yuca locro. recommended!

Comida sana y tambien de todo un poco. Muy rico y abundante. pedimos quinoa con vegetales y pescado($6,5) y ceviche de palmito ($6). locro de yuca de entrada. Recomendado!

Not good products. frozen cappuccino and "espresso " were average. But if you need a place to have internet and electricity...

They wanted 1,100 pesos a night. No dorms but they have the word hostal in the name? I do not understand.

They wanted 700p for a dorm. Also the name is different on the front door than Ioverlander. Didn’t stay.

Unique hostel with adobe cabañas and large garden. Ample equipped kitchen. Numerous outdoor spaces. Dorms (approx $100/night) and private rooms ($200pesos/night) available. camping avaible too in garden. Super sweet new owners that live in the house. also some private and dorms rooms available in the house. discounts for extended stays. 5 min walk to artesania market and walking streets in center. plenty of room for bicyles and motorcycles. street parking nearby for overlanders in van or car. pet friendly. in a quiet neighborhood outside main tourist district but within walking distance.

Filled USA tank. 5.5 gallon for 15,477cop. Fast and friendly. Don’t block the gate when you park.

Nice family run hotel hotel with a really good breakfast place included. On iOverlander it’s few hotels in Ambato but there are many. We was in town for the flowers festival and stayed at this place. We payed 66 $ a night. The hotel has a big secure parking lot and a small garage you can park your motorcycles in. The service was great and the staff was very friendly to us. A bit upscale maybe but better then the hostel far out. Stayed in a two bed room with hot shower and breakfast

Quoted 28USD for a double room but able to negotiate to 20USD. Depends who’s on front desk. Room comes with fridge, lamp, wifi (slow to average), good aircon, and cold suicide shower. Ample parking for larger vehicles and secure. Staff are lovely and very helpful. After looking at Hotel Oasis, we decided Amazónias was a better deal. If you go any time soon, you might find the cutest two-month old black puppy playing at reception. Likes to nip, but absolutely adorable!

It is a lot. Even though the tour was good and try samples. But hey! coffee here is 3 dollars so....you can image the rest. Good Wifi

Arrived 5:30pm. This is a dead end, and narrow street, and no turn arounds, so no big rigs. It’s popular with the locals and there are only about 10 spots to park, so arrive early or late. There are signs that say parking only for playa publico and playa Adventuras. We asked the security guard at hotel next door and he said this parking was open to the public. We also asked if we could camp here for the night and he said no problem, and offered the showers (rinse only, no soap) and bathrooms at the resort, from 9am to 5pm. My wife needed the bathroom for an emergency (this is Mexico) around 9pm and they said they’d have to call their supervisor. She declined as to not cause any problems as we do have a unit in our van.

Please don’t abuse the kindness of the hotel by using the palapas, chairs or sneaking other resort benefits...they will complain to the police which will only close this for overnights ...try to keep this parking open for overlanders!

We stayed two nights.

Not the prettiest or cleanest (no trash, just washed up seaweed), but free. Beware the sand flies...

Super helpful staff! They fixed our friends breaks (truck camper) and checked other parts to make sure they were ready to keep their trip across America.

Gasstation with guard and leveled parking. They charged us 5000 cop for staying the night. For us the much nicer option than the Ecoasis place nearby!
Toilets available and watertabs.
There us some grass for a tent, but i don't know if they let you.

having driven around the area & been extremely disappointed with the options we asked about this place. Behind the school over an acre of flat parking with double gate at the entrance. The guy in charge is Arturo, who also works at the museum, the museum is closed Mondays & Tuesday & the entrance has a chain across. fees are supposed to be for the school, paid $100 /night/day for large truck camper with 2 people. Close to beach, restaurants with pay showers & bathrooms & some shade.

Nobody here.. no people, no control.

Let’s start the ripio if you are going to the North!

8000cop per vehicle per night. No charge per persons. Dirty toilet, no shower. The place is like a car junk place. Not nice but acceptable if you consider the price. Location is just behind the main church, so very close to main square.

just go to the entrance road to the Park and when you reach de 30km/h sign, turn left. There is a path and in 20 meters you'll start finding some spots.

Make sure you cant be seen from the road and try to avoid camping there during the day time.

I didn't stay here as they refused to allow me to keep my bicycle inside. The hotel said there is no place where I can keep my bicycle. This is in contrast to a previous guest who was allowed to keep his bicycle in the corridor.

Nice decent food and wines, beers.
kid got his food earlier. The have kids menus. Nice staff.

Sand lot was rough and showed where people had gotten stuck so we parked on the street. got the knock from the police shortly thereafter. just wanted to make sure we didn't have warrants out. slept peacefully.
