The fence across this area reported below has been torn down / knocked over.
Rough corrogated road in but still suitable for large rigs. Spent one night here. A few other campers around. Very safe and quiet.

Good grippy rock for climbers. Rough road for the last 1.5 miles. Small sedans made it in here so you don't need high clearance or 4x4, just a slow bumpy road and a fairly steep but short section of road about a mile away. Flat spots are hard to find. A few locals and their dogs come and go day and night but all very chill and peaceful. Great vistas here! 50ppp but that's a one time fee, not per night. Maybe you could talk down the goofy guy that's at the gate. Bring food and water as this place is slightly remote and the road not fun to drive down. Campfires an option here too.

Yesterday we crossed the border from Guatemala to Mexico Tecun Uman 2, be carful you have to drive thru the „city“ and in our opinion it wasn’t well described where to drive, Tecun Uman 1 it’s just for commercial vehicles.

When you arrive at the border there is a parking lot to park, then you go to the aduana to unsubscribe the vehicle and next to it is immigration for the passport.

When you leave Guatemala you have to pay 10 quetzal, for 2 peoples, and you get a receipt.

Before you get to the Mexican border you have fumigation for 95 peso.

Then you have the agriculture check point, and they really check if you have ANY FRESH PRODUCT!
It’s nothing new, here they really check!

Then you can park your vehicle go to ventana 7 for your immigration and on ventana 4 you pay at Banjercito 583 per person and go back to finish.
Which is also normal.
If you have to register your vehicle you do it at the same ventana 4, if you already have the TIP you are good to go!

Then you drive thru the cameras, they are also in Tijuana going to USA and back to Tijuana, and then the last check point for your vehicle.
We had 3 police officers the one who was talking to my husband wanted to know if the vehicle is ours checked the TIP papers and the VIN number.
The other 2 wanted to look in the Van, i opened the cabinets for them, checked refrigerator again and also in the back.
Asked questions like where we are from, what kind of work etc.

For Mexican standard they checked really good and always very friendly and professional!!!
We both speak Spanish which helps every time.
Overall a smooth Border crossing like all the others while traveling trouts Latin America!

They do not have much advertisement, from outside it looks weird, because of dark windows. But inside really nice people serve great food! Steaks with Homemade french fries, great salads. It was almost full of people. 2 meals with big coca-cola 520 pesos.

Very nice camping, big trees with shadows. Firewood. Hot showers were really epic, whole day and night. Activities in the park are: 2 observatories, we visited the closer one. Only espaňol. They showed us few stars in telescope, opened in the evening approx. From 20:30. 3 walking trails. We did the “Cerro Leoncito”, whis is 8 km. You climb the very beautiful hill with 360 degrees view. It took us 3,5 hours, take enough water. They will not let you start the trail after 3 p.m!! Other walking trails are shorter.

Friendly place that does delicious juices; mango, banana, avocado, amongst others. They also do a fantastic "fruit and bread" plate with loads of fruit and a mix of salad stuff too, great if you need a fix of fresh food! Really reasonable prices too.

Great spot for a stopover between Palenque and Campeche.
Huge garden, swimming pools, a nice lake at the end of the property, horses and peacocks.
The place is very fancy for where it is (but maybe we’ve seen too many Netflix series)...
150pesos per car and good food at the restaurant. Warm showers. Security at night. Decent WiFi.

Small leisure park with a big grassy campground.
Several sites are shaded, each with a wastebin, braai and tap.
Directly closed to the s campground is a enclosure (5000qm) with 5 lions.
Campers can use all amenities in the park (big clean pool with water slides, some carousels, lions,...)
Free wifi at the bar /restaurant.
The park during the week visited only in the morning by a few pupils with their teachers.
At weekend it might be different.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful, the owner, too.
120 pula pppn.
Washing machine 20 pula.
Everything is absolutely clean and well maintained.
We definitely recommend!

I’m an Argentinian women who is totally disappointed and sad about how we abuse this area. We just destroy the beautiful landscape and nature of the place. It Is full with different business that will try to sell you food, excursions and places to sleep. It’s just too much! I think there are more than 100differents places selling things, coming out to the rute waving papers for sell excursions.

There is no place for appreciate nature. Just sit down and enjoy it. :(
All is dirty and the walls of the mountains are full with graffiti.
So If you as a tourist love nature please don’t buy nothing from them.
I hope Some day this will become a protect area where humans and nature can meet again.

Sorry to write this here. But if you love nature how I do, you will understand me.

Nice place. The first impression is that is a house with a big park but it has a swimming pool, tennis court, quincho and bbq. A little bar and a cozy stemming.
Totally recommend! The owners will help you with what you need!
Bathrooms are simple and clean, there is not electricy at site but close to the bar. WiFi kind of slow.

We Recommend a tour in the small village. San Carlos is a beautiful and nice barrio!
We came just at the end of carnaval and was lucky at be part of a music festival for free! Awesome place and music!

Wild camping spot by the river on RP24 about 16 km north from Las Coloradas and 4 km south from the junction with RP46.
Wild camping south of here is difficult as the river is completely fenced off. This is the first nice spot going north where it is possible and even encouraged (there is a sign giving this spot the name 'Camping Los Viveros')
Unofficial fire pit, rubbish bin, trees to provide some shelter from sun and wind.
Not completely hidden from the road, depends where you pitch. A vehicle would probably be visible.
Warer from river, not sure whether it is drinkable, I only used it for cooking and showering.

Very nice hotel, calm, clean, with a nice garden where you can take a drink. Someone told us that it is the hippest place in town. There is plenty of other hotels in this town.
We paid 45000TS for a room.

It is a good place to park and work, there is trees with shadow.

At night it might be crowded, and it may be not allowed to park here.

Bom lugar para estacionar a sombra durante o dia e trabalhar na Kombi.

A noite pode ficar cheio de gente, e o estacionamento não é permitido.

Beautiful shaded sites with fire pits and table. The shower can be as hot or cool as you want it to be and drains nicely. The swimming pool, as best as I understood, is not available to campers, but my Spanish is not great so that could be incorrect. There is road noise, but for 150 pesos per person, was much better than the YPF in town. Good wifi, very friendly owners.

The owner works until 18h, only then he comes home. But you can open the gate and install yourself, or ask on the front house if it’s ok to get inside. That’s the owner’s brother house. There are cameras here, so the owner will know if anybody arrives.

Nice place. Simple, but it’s got everything you need. Good for tents and big rigs.
Good internet, electricity on the camping area, cooking shelter for rainy days, simple but good toilets. Hot showers.
The owner is very kind.
Still 4000 per person. Good price

Huge grass field to park in. Plenty of sites. Plenty of room. Can give same day notice. Can boondock for FREE for as long as you want (he’s had people for extended stays). There is water and electric hookups available for small additional price (not sure what). He is a Vietnam Veteran and lets veterans stay for free with hookups. Please don’t take advantage of this place because it is wonderful, but if you need a safe haven-this is it. Wonderful couple. They have donkeys, horses, goats, and chickens. Small ponds for fishing. Great place to escape and relax for a bit.

Great campsite! Super friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean pool area with shade, hammocks, and soft day beds. Option to have private campsite with own bathroom but you have to walk 300m+ to pool/bar/reception. We preferred the cheaper shared bathroom only 20m from pool. The “Rhino” campsite has beautiful shade under a huge tree. Recommend taking the 35km farm track thru to White Lady (easy 4x4).
