We were looking for a mechanic to check our braking system. We found this mechanic on iOverlander and we decided to check it out.
GREAT! really professional, he and his team helped us right away, replaced the frontal brake pads for a really reasonable price (240pesos + the cost of the parts) and let us use their toilet and Wifi. Friendly, fast and trustful!

Payed 20 Pesos for 20 liter of water.
But it's still only one Dollar.
All food basics available. Even automotive lubricants and wine+beer.

Nice spot in a quiet park beside a police office.
We didn’t spoke to an officer but locals advised the place.
There are some shops, restaurant and bar close by.
In the morning we could use the toilets in the police office.

While our car was parked here (for ca. 1 hour) somebody broke into it and has stolen our backpacks. Be careful!

Nice campground run by the bomberos. Unfortunately quite some trash around. But places have light & electricity, and the toilets and showers are very clean! They also told us they have surveillance camera's around working 24hrs. 150pppn, kids (2&4yrs old) didn't pay.

Large grassy to spend a night. Very quiet. A but windy. The view is amasing and away enough from the road. Big Rigs ok!

Fairly basic cabins but each is self contained, with parking. Good hot shower, fast WiFi, TV, cooker. $80 a night but the weather was freezing and we were stuck so we were happy to pay.

Awesome spot! We stayed only one night. We had two Skoolie’s and a Jeep with us and made it down the dirt road just fine. Some spots are bumpy but you just have to take it slow. Lots of other vans and Rvs there. Ocean is very calm and it is really clear water. I also found so many seashells and and starfish on the beach! Felt very safe.

it is worth a visit but go the by your OWN. if there are guys who want to show you around, watch your car or whatever make them clear you don't need help or ask them how much they want.
we had two young guys who walked with us to the hole (didn't ask them to) they were nice though and one of them told some stuff about the place etc. and there was another young guy who watched our car. at the end they wanted 300 rand (100 for each) for this!! we gave them 20 each and told them we are campers. they were unfriendly after that. so make sure you ask them AHEAD or tell them you don't need help.

Probably the most memorable stop on the Carretera Austral. A cosy hostel with camping outside , dorms downstairs and private rooms upstairs for some extra comfort. Hot tub out the back. due to its location has a great atmosphere with people finishing or starting the CA and has excellent staff

Tight corner to park on. The guy was stressed out.
5 pesos for 1 gallon. Even if I had 5 of them. Went elsewhere.

Nice place. Friends went back a few times in their trip because they liked it so much. We stayed three nights, which is special since we boondock 98%. Water and sewage (3inch pipe only) at each site. Good enough wifi at the common palapa. Trails to walk around.
Note : A man (not the boss because she goes to La Paz every weekend) tried to charge us 250mxp for 2 adults and a big van... good thing we knew it was 150 (our friend had stayed there 10 nights).

A wonderful place to stay in a tent bungalow or van. Surrounded by impressive limestone mountains. free entry into the site so it's also possible to camp for free outside and still use the facilities.

We had a problem with our alternator. Even though the owner was flying to Santiago because his son was very sick, he made sure his mechanic was able to fix our E450 bus. The mechanic managed to fit a second hand alternator and changed the oil for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended, especially if you have a Ford f350/450 as Rolling Patagonia uses them for their motor homes.

Beautiful views. Thin unmaintained road leading to this spot. It’s a gravel road, so made it easy to get to. I wouldn’t recommend trailers, the turn around spot at top does not seem big enough. Built in breakfast table though. About 8 suvs went to the Athena Launch Pad in the morning.
