Exactly as described, large level gravel parking lot. Nice walk up the ridge line from the trailhead, beautiful views. Also really great info about the trackways. Very nice quiet, dark spot for a night while passing through Las Cruces.

Great place to visit and spend some nights, specially off-season. On season it gets really crowded. Nice beaches around and walking distance places to visit in the national park. There are two entrances. The one by Fortaleza de Santa Teresa (North) get closed at night. So if you get there late, you should ride to the main entrance of the park at ruta 9 (South). They normally charge 180 pp, but off season there is no control. There is water and electricity at sites.

lots of overlanding tour groups, which isn't great and the 'campsite' is actually just pre erected tents in a paved area.
only really worth staying in one of the chalets.

It’s a good place to camp in La Paz, easy to reach if you know La Paz, but surely you don’t know this city and you will have problems driving in this hell of steep streets and crazy traffic. The first time driving there from El Alto city was complicated, that’s why we’re posting this comment with tips to reach La Lomas camp ground.
If you select this place as a first destination on maps.me you will get lost and after hours you will pray for a helicopter rescue, so this is better:
For Maps.me: 1. if you are in El Alto city select as your first destination “Mercado de Achumani”, the navigator will guide you through an asphalted road “Carretera El Alto-Mallasa”, just follow the asphalt to the city, don’t take any intersection to gravel roads, ignore maps.me and follow the asphalt. 2. Once you finally reach Mercado de Achumani find the camping Las Lomas and follow the suggested rod…..patience and good mood in La Paz.

Easy and fasts. The woman's staff of customs was very friendly. The only "problem" is that they had the car registration with the old owner, but they solved it quickly (we are from Chile and apparently they have the information not updated in the system)

Awesome place. We got a private double room for $25 due to low season and a longer stay. Shared showers/bathroom/kitchen. Laundry is now $10 for wash and dry...we went down the street and it was $8...so maybe worth doing it here anyway.

Parking for three cars, but gate only for two so may need to move your car for the other person. Limited to 3.1m tall...ours just fit.

Charlie was the host and very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

We stayed here one night. Security overnight. We asked the guard if we could spend the night, he said ok (was friendly). Safe but noisy(is a gas station)

Bar/restaurant with guesthouse in the middle of the city. Rooms are small with shared toilet and shower. Abolution block is outdated and not well maintained. Price per person is 200 birr pn. Camping is also possible on the small grassy courtyard which is also being used as storage. Around 2 cars and a few tents can fit in, but no privacy then. Price camping 150 birr.

The restaurant/bar is a nice spot to have dinner or have a beer. Food is good and manager friendly. Wifi is available, but they do have a lot of power shortcuts, which is commen in Ethiopia.

With its central location you can do a lot by foot (during day time). Mercato market is 3km and the National museum around 5 km. You can also take a cab, but they will overcharge you. Here are two taxi drivers which didn’t overcharge us, speak English and were friendly:

Wow. What a gem. We decided to get away from the coast as we heard it get sketchy after Tecoman right now. So we checked this spot out!! Excellente craft brewery. so glad we ended up here!! if you ask for Pedro at the Cervaseria he is the manager he was very friendly and helpful. His parents own a air bnb near here. Please make this on your must stop lost if your craving some good beer and are interested in what they do. Very good people. 👍

This was a gem. We really enjoyed this place. We wanted off the beaten track as we heard the coast wasn't that great after Tecoman security wise . It was very lovely and nice to visit. The people were very friendly and the place was great. they are in the process of re dying their kitchen so they only serve cervasa. but if your missing craft beer!! You have found the place to be in Mexico!! situated in the mountains next to the volcano this place is amazing. Ask for Pedro. He is the manager and is super helpful he really knows the area! This place is worth the stop, Bring you and your dog and enjoy some beers on the patio!! ☺👍 Salute!!!

Here you can take a good and warm shower. Of course you have the lake but in April it’s frozen. So we came here. 5000 T per person. In April open from 12 to 22. This is the point of the outside gate.

Could not recommend highly enough! Quiet, nestled in mountains with huge Saguaros, a cave to explore and animals to pet by the ranch. Plus loads of wildlife, including a family of Coatis. $12 for dry camping in an RV but there is a place to fill up in the ranch parking lot. Totalyy worth in, especially if you have kids.

There are two camping, when you are arriving around the lake, there is first one called Mapuche, this wanted to charge us 200 pp plus car. So we continued and at the end of the road (there is one way sign at the end) there is another camp. They charged us 200 for 2 persons and 30 for one shower. The other time we came there were another people at the reception and they wanted to chargus 200 pp, so we said that one week ago the lady charged us less. They agree. Showers and toilets are not nice at all but warm water!! They need to switch of the heating, ask for it!

Didn't feel safe, the guard made me clear signs of what he wanted. Touching his parts, making sounds with his mouth, asking where my boyfriend was and what time he will be back, if I want a massage, "let me call my friends" etc. I was alone and he scared the sh*t out of me. Chow bye.

5 dogs roaming about but they were friendly. The swimming pool was closed but showers were open with hot water.

Busy at weekends with Boom Boom music but quiet in the week.

Friendly staff in the office.

Free WiFi accessible around the nearest half to the office as well as the Cafe/Store next to the swimming pool.

I lived here for a week and a half in my tent.

Firm sandy ground shaded by trees. Electric sockets under barbecue stands. Water faucets scattered around.

Free camping down near the lake.

As told before, José and Aníbal love to host travelers. I parked the car in their property and slept in the house on the other side of the river. I stayed 5 nights and helped them with some activities on the farm. They have so many fruits trees, many differents plantain trees, and they love to teach you about. Really recomended.

Arguably the best street burger spot in Ecuador! Tried normal hamburguesa con papas and slice of pizza with ham. Comes with drink :) Simply delicious!! And cheap. Absolutely worth the visit.

Amazing place directly at the beach, super friendly and helpful owner, nice beach bar with good beer, quite windy, we stayed 2 nights. On your way in make sure you take the road on the beach to your right hand side. We only made it by putting on 4x4 and saw some others getting stuck. But the place is worth it!!!

If you are there before 5 pm they leave the gate open so you can use the bathrooms and showers after hours. Free.
