Big campground, we were the only campers. Good for a safe overnight stay but nothing more.
To get there, you have a 3km dirtroad in good condition. Very easy to find with all the signs.
We paid 40R$ for 2 persons.
Had to pay extra for a shower and costs for wifi are $R5 per hour. We did not use it.
Pool was out of use, toilets were clean.
Arch is more then 3 meters.

Nice and quiet place indeed. To find the access, drive to the left at the crossing if you come from El Calafate. If you come from the glacier, drive to the right, not to Calafate. Shortly after the crossing you will see the tracks of the other overlanders on the left side. Follow them, cross the little creek and then make your choice for the night. Plenty of space for everybody.

As described, very helpful and friendly. He fitted the problems, a little bit unorthodox with ideas. Recommend, but ask for price before he start to work.

The best coffee shop in Uyuni by far. This small and cosy place offers great Bolivian coffee, very delicious cakes and fantastic meals with vegatarian options. Both Carlas running the coffee shop are really friendly and professional. In addition, the Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. Don't miss this place or you'll regret it! ☕

Entering Brazil from Argentina was easy as far as getting our passports stamped. BUT when we asked where to get the paperwork done for the camper, no one seemed to know. We were sent to several places (even to the second floor; all that was there was a room full of cardboard boxes). Finally some man in jeans and a ratty t-shirt (most people were dressed in uniforms or shirts with a legal label on them) called someone and was on the phone for some time. He then got on his computer and then called someone again who seemed to be talking him through what to do. At least the room was air conditioned! An hour and a half later he gave us the paperwork. We were dumbfounded that one of the highest vehicle traffic borders in the country didn’t know how to process a vehicle.

A wonderful place for people who like naked nature
you need to have lowgear if you ever want to come back to the road.
The place itself is good for big rigs but the way to the Campground is not because of low hanging trees and sandy steep narrow access
No network no WIFI at the campground.

Good spot provided there is no event at the "Salon Social". There was the anniversary of a local school yesterday night with hundreds of students and loud music til midnight and then noise from the guys dismantling the stage for 2 more hours banging stuff. Really hot by day at this time of the year (37°C) but really nice by night from 2/3am (23°C) and there is a nice breeze from the lake so you can sleep with your windows open. NB. this is a spot where people come to pee by night but the restaurant "Raices" let us use their restrooms multiple times at no cost. Police patrolling and never paid attention to us, locals said it is safe here and it felt like it. (1h20 from Tilkal with good road conditions except for few kms where they were reconstructing the road). ROAD INFO SOUTHBOUND: It took us 1h30 to reach balneario near raxruha and another 4h to reach Lanquin to visit Semuc Champey from here via Coban. It's all paved besides the last 12km which is a dirt road but doable by any 2WD rig provided you aren't too heavy as it gets real steep in some parts.

Safe and central place. Does'n have bathrooms or showers. When you arrive the police oficer asks you if you have your own toillet and water. You always say yes. Otherway you can't park here. Has a litlle kitchen if you need. Water available on site. Many Overlanders stop here. You find everything you need to by around the corner.

BLM land located behind Sky’s The Limit just outside of the north entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. There were multiple campsites with fire rings. We stayed here for three nights with our 30 ft Class C RV and had no issues. Can get windy at night, but the views are worth it!

We arrived after 5 PM. The day guard already left. Just before all the shops, go to the right. Continue to the end. There is the paved parking lot. For larger vehicles, stay on the grass field. It is very quiet an night. We only heard many birds.
Immediately after we arrived, a man came and asked 100 MXN. We said no, only 50. He said yes and asked again 100. We said no again, 50. We asked for his name, he said no name. He looked a little drunk. We refused again and he left.
Around 7.30 PM, the real night guard came. He asked 50 MXN. he could not show his identity, so we took his picture.
the day after, we visited the archeological site.
There was a show of Voleadores at 2.30 PM. But we were the only ones. They asked us 600 MXN to start the show. We refused and went away. Afterwards, they started the show around 3.30 PM, they were about 10 people for the show. So, we went there. Before the show started, they came to collect a tip. We gave 50 MXN, they asked 50 per person. We refused. The man asked us to leave. We refused. We stayed, it is on public property. Just before they started the show, he came back to collect the 50 MXN.
We haven’t seen a day guard. The second night, nobody came to ask for money.

We park the RV in front of a vacant field on E Lincoln St and N Dean St. I read that it is possible to park in Texas for 24 h. Quiet place but the sound of the train awakes us few times in the night. Free parking. No service.

There are ten free campsites along Proctor RD near Madera Canyon. The sites are very private and quiet. We are having such a relaxing and peaceful time here. There is a creek nearby and if you walk down the creek, you will find a small waterfall. We were told there are lots of wildlife including dear, rabbits, bears, jaguar, coatimoondis and all sorts of birds here. We saw wild turkeys and humming birds at the Santa Rita Lodge where you can sit down and watch the wildlife. We were also able to get portable water at the lodge for free. We towed a small 17 foot travel trailer with an SUV.

Nice enough spot, with adventure playground that’s great for kids and use of kayaks, but just way too expensive, food and drink twice the price of most other places and nothing special (breakfast 4000 CFA with omelette, lunch 4500, dinner 7000, beer 1800, water/ soft drinks 1500) WIFI non existent when we were there. Camping 5000 CFA pppn, dorms 7000pppn, bungalows 15,000 (double)

Stay at the Overlander Oasis, you won't regret it. Great amenities, great location, and Calvin and Leanne are super hosts. They were very helpful and friendly, and will have answers to anything you may need during your stay. We also met other wonderful travelers during our time here; we had group dinners, great conversations over snacks and beers, and explored the surrounding areas together, which made the experience even better for us. Highly recommend! PS, check out their website for discounts if you plan to stay longer than a week.
