Spectacular views of the sunset and sunrise. It’s extremely windy so be aware of that. Surrounded by families and everyone is quiet after 8pm. Woke up one morning to snow slowly billowing across the lot! Magical but it was hella windy. Dog poop scattered everywhere.

Nice big level parking for campers and big rigs. Pulled pork and sweet potatoes are great.

Free over night stay. super friendly staff, offered us to plug in to the bathroom sockets. patchy WI-FI but usable. 24h toilets. fab little spot if you're stuck.

Convenient camping in a parking area adjacent to restaurant and whale watching tours. 4g on Verizon, weak wifi , restrooms with flush toilets and showers.

This place is the garden of an overlanding couple, who are taking a travel break in Uganda.

The garden is nice and has a leveled grassy area with some trees. Toilets are basic African style and the outdoor shower is cold. But the stay is for free and the Chats nice.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Good hot shower. Lovely staff. Safe parking for our 4x4. With a good adjacent restaurant . We paid 2,400 for a double room.
Recommended place on Nanyuki

Tasty local food with fresh greens from their little garden. We had delicious pilau rice and chicken stew, freshly cooked when we ordered (total 1,000 for 2). Friendly chef and staff.
Good hotel is just next door.

They moved to a new location which I just reported to iOverlander. Pizza still delicious!

Just outside the Dorob NP. Far enough away from the main road Henties Bay to Usakos. At the entrance sign to Dorob NP ( dead tree trunk) take the track north. Nice dessert scenery, no traffic.

Beautiful rock formation that looks like a cathedral. Worth the hike

Awesome spot to camp on the sand beach of the river in the town. Safe quiet town. Bathrooms in the daytime. Trucks go by at night so earplugs help. Maybe boaters early in the morning,.

Nice quite safe place to stay for the night! Just don’t be the guy that parks across and takes up 5 spots! Be courteous people!

excellent spot. felt safe and the dog had a great time exploring. restrooms are currently closed due to loss of water and (busted pipes) after the recent snow storm, so we did not use facilities.

Great free dump station with potable water. Bring your own hose. Right as your exiting to the rest area on the right hand side. The water foundations and spigots near the restrooms were still covered but I filled up on the potable water.

Nice free spot on the beach just before the Bayou. Pretty packed on the weekend, but still nice. There was one night where trucks came at 3 in the morning and did donuts in the sand by us, otherwise no other problems. Good Verizon reception (with a booster).

There is a no overnight parking sign as you enter the rest area but there seemed to be many cars and trucks planning to spend the night. We left around 11pm because it was so loud, too many trucks left running.

PERMANENTLY CLOSED - initial location was a Go Station train parking lot that does not allow overnight camping. Now the address is a residential house so the GPS location is incorrect. There is no campsite at this address.

Stopped in for a second time. Visited by police at 3am and questioned. No problem, just be aware your presence will get noticed here.

Super quite night, came on a weekend , music into the night and a few cars leaving , no one bothered us. Park in back of lot on dirt area. Cool stores in both directions, check out the music hall!
