Going from Tanzania to Kenya.
A few update from haveaniceway's detailed information:
1. Don't give anything to anyone at the entry gate. A guy tried to ask for some fictitious document and when I didn't understand what it was that he wanted, he offered to show me in my paperwork. You do not have to stop here! We just drove by and went straight to the building.
2. Have a printed copy of your PCR results. We had it on our phones, but the health department will want a copy. (Even though all they want is the number to look up in their system.) FYI: it is possible to print at the gate, but the man in charge of the printer was charging an excessive rate. (If you do need to print, price is 10 kenyan shilling for 1 page. He wanted us to pay him 100x that much. We paid him the going rate and when we needed something else printed later he refused. Avoid this man at all costs.)
3. You can no longer get a visa at the border. Applications need to be done online. We did not know this, as it is a very recent change. We were able to apply and pay on our phones but it took nearly an hour to process. You need to give a color copy to immigration. Our friend with the printer refused to print anything else for us. Thankfully a different worker realized what was happening and agreed to print for us but he said he was not supposed to do this. Best to bring in advance or have a hotel print for you beforehand.
4. It is also possible to pay for road tax online through same website that you do eVisa. it is $21 for one month. Pay online and print the receipt to bring along. Otherwise you will have to do it when you are there.

Everything else is the same. If we had our evisa ahead of time it would have been a super easy process. Very tame border.

This was an amazing spot! A free BLM campground with 15 sites, all with level ground and fire rings. We stayed at site #10 and had trees for our hammock, a very tall fire ring which helped when windy, and views of the mesas. The neighboring spots had other folks but we felt relatively secluded. Barely 10 min from the Mesa Verde park entrance!

Extremely pretty camp sites. lake views with snow covered peaks in distance.

Extremely busy. Fisherman all day will come into your camp to fish. and almost every campsite is full on a Wednesday in april...

it's pretty but , idk if it's worth the people problems

I was trying to go from Kenya to Ethiopia. I arrived with a valid eVisa, valid negative Covid-Test and yellow fever vacc. However, they explained me that the border is (still) only open for people that do not need a visa and they would not let me enter and sent me back to Nairobi to take a flight to Addis. Because I really needed to pass there I stayed there for 3 hours negotiating and begging to let me through, they made me call my embassy in Addis (which was closed due to a bank holiday) and still sent me back to Kenya and come the next day. After begging again 30min before the border closed for the day they got a message from the immigration office in Addis that I can pass. I do not recommend to go and try. It seems like I was super lucky and I have been the only one passing (with a visa) for months.

entrance to the playa at Frog Creek was a bit rutted, but our 25’ RV made it fine. Amazing stargazing. We saw a string of bright, fast satellites, maybe 50 of them, arcing across the sky in a tight single file line. We’ve been told they were probably Starlink.

This is the visitor center of Great Fish River Nature Reserve, a remote and seldom visited park. You can drive vom the south to the north on a rocky and steep road (ok for cars but not for normal campers) by crossing the Great Fish River what is no problem at low water level. Don´t miss Adams Kantz Viewpoint. You have a good chance to see black rhino in the park. The game drives are very narrow and nothing for big rigs. You have to pay 26 ZAR Conservation Fee und 129 ZAR Game Drive Fee p. P.

The entrance is at the left, just in front of Café & Bakery Malú. With our motorhome, we (2 people) stayed for 14 nights, 18$/night. Payment at arrival, credit cards accepted. Unfortunately, the hot shower worked intermittently only. Mondays, the café and the gate to the camping are closed.

well lit parking lot, very busy. I felt safe there but not super big rig friendly. we squeezed into a spot with a 25 ft skoolie. it was very busy in the morning, lots of cal fire and prisoner work crews meeting here before work for the day. I would stay again but only for one night at a time.

Nice pull-in off road under olive trees.
coming down the hill pull in to right and go up 100 m and around to a flat spot, you'll see a couple of lovely flat spots under olive trees. Some nice views too.
Hidden from main road. The main road is.desd quiet at night.
Can't guarantee it will suit you but definitely worth a look if it's late and you're tired and need a spot for the night.I had a nice night.I also had a nice subset!

Awesome campsite that also has rooms, a pool, bar and restaurant. They offer river cruises and game drives into Chobe at really good rates.

The campsites are geared toward large overlanding groups and thus most of the campsites are very big with lots of large well kept ablution blocks. However due to the lack of overlanders due to covid it was very peaceful and restful.

Only campsite 1 has a good river view.

Paid P95 pppn. Had pizzas and beers at the restaurant and took a rover cruise. Very well priced and an awesome place to stay if in Kasane

Still out, he said it will likely never be repaired bc the leak is underground and they can’t locate it. He also said he’s not sure of nearby ones, so I would mark this off your stops.

Nice little spot along the river. Was able to back into the spot by driving past and turning around, waiting for car behind to pass, then back 20 foot ford transit van mid roof with max air fan and solar panel up top perfectly into spot. Some branches scrape the edges of van but not bad. Obviously not the best for solar but a great spot no one bothered me at all and sound of the water was magical

It's a good place to stay the night, clean toilets, and quiet at night. However the staff is not that friendly, I was going to work for the third day and they said the internet wasn't working so I left. (then MI boyfriend entered and the internet worked perfect). So maybe not a good place to work?

The campground was full and the drive back would be too much for me (tired sore) so I stayed at the trailhead. I did not see "no camping" signs. Another rig also parked and stayed the night here. There are pit toilets, picnic tables, but no water (water can be gotten before at the campground where there are flush toilet and 2 showers). The road is easy to get out here from the campground (saw all types of cars here during the day), however, there are a couple small creeks that you need to drive through (no 4x4 or lift needed). The spot is just yards from the beach. Other than the frogs, and other nature sounds, it was peaceful. I lost cell service (Verizon) on the drive here from 101, however, once I got here I had service again. FYI; couldn't change the stars...I would have given it 4 stars!

Parked on right-side near the trees, as others had done before. There was a trailer that came as well not long after I got here. I am not sure if this happens every night, however, the workers were moving items with a loud forklift until midnight. had I read that on a review I would have picked another spot! I am not sure how to change rating...I would give it 2 star if I could.
