National Park Service campground with 50 spots, no hookups but nice views of Blue Mesa Reservoir. $20/day and all spots have a table, fire pit and asphalt parking area. Not many trees so my Starlink works perfectly thanks to my solar panels and inverter. I’m one of 3 campers here on a Saturday. Clean pit toilets, a fish cleaning station and almost no road noise. Gets very windy in the afternoon.

The street where parking is prohibited is the main street near Rio, we parked in the square very close by and it was super quiet. Two more Motorhomes arrived later and we were all parked here without any problems. We are very close to the center and the city is very beautiful. In the center there is a public bathroom where we pay R$1.00 to use the bathroom and R$5.00 to take a shower with hot water, very good!

A big free unpaved parking lot. Not perfect flat but lots of possibilities to find a spot that fits to stay. Also lot of space for big rigs. At daytime of weekends much used by locals who come here for hiking and running in the beautiful near forest.

Drinking fountain (water) with 3 different levels. One is low to the ground, and pet accessible. A small jug could be filled up, but nothing too big will fit. A larger container could be used if you have some sort of collection device, like a funnel with a tube, to catch the water. Street parking available along Lee Street for the length of the park.

This place is very beautiful with a lot of huge puddles to get through to get here however I did not stay long because the black biting flies were intense. I couldn't let my dog out and I didn't even want to be out. I don't know if there's a time of year that these flies are not here but I would go at that time if there is.

Dump station is still working and accessible but it’s not clear if the water is potable or not so I’m treating it as if it’s not.

Lovely surprise. Several parking lots. Free. Green. River.

There’s lots of people and noises. Train. Planes. Animals.

No one bothered us at night. Noticed other cars as well.
No signs.

Crossed at 4pm on a Saturday (15Jun24) and it was really easy. Straight through US exit and stopped by border patrol officer at Canada entry. We’re in a van so went to checkpoint 4 as no height restriction. Some other cars going through but no wait. Showed passports which were scanned but not stamped (US Passports). Was asked if dog rabies vaccine current - had the certificate but didn’t need to show it. Usual questions on what we did for work, where were we going, how long will we be in Canada, are we carrying any weapons, pepper spray, cannabis, tobacco, alcohol. We didn’t get an inspection. All super polite. The question that took a moment for us was on where we were going, saying that we plan to visit all Canada was not a good answer, they need a specific place. Suggestion is if you are touring to pick a place e.g Banff. We had cleared out all meat, fruit and veg prior to crossing but didn’t get checked- though they could have. Luck of the draw perhaps and being confident in the answers to the questions.

Part of the national grasslands so legal route to camp at. move the gate open at 7146 and close it after you. road is easily done with 2WD. we saw lots of pronghorns and prairie dogs. if you want more info in person talk to the national grasslands visitor center in Wall.
there will be easy spots to turn.

Pulled in on a Friday (yes, I know). Campground was more like a fishing camp with weekend boaters, also some car and van campers. Overflow was pretty low-key, not very level but good enough for a night or two while doing the hikes. Views were amazing and pit toilets were usable given the number of campers on site.

Cute place, but really small !
It’s ONE spot for a group or a single car/RV . Only One table/bench and one pit fire. A pit toilet pretty clean! Several easy access to the river. The road on gravel is not really pleasant but ok !
The panel is lightly hidden so turn on left just after the bridge.
No garbage, pack it up what you bring!
NO CELL SERVICE.

Sat beside the road, outside eating area partly under a big tree, soup and fried chicken for lunch, we just had the chicken, it was hot! and really tasty, 12bols each and a further 10 bols for a bottle of fizzy orange. Staff not particularly friendly, no interaction with us, but fab to have shade. we're on bicycles, just ridden from Australia, the waterholes that direction are teaming with Caymen and Capybarra. we must have seen 100s of both species. and the bird life! Take it slow and stop frequently, you'll be in for a treat. We rode mid June, as obviously will vary.
