Mucho cuidado ⚠️.
Buen viaje.

great campsite inside big bend national park. we booked spot 58 however upon arriving discovered it was up a steep trail with no shade. the camp hosts, Kim and Jeff were so kind, and Kim had even read our vehicle notes (we have a van) and set aside spot 59 for us, which was right next to the parking spot, rather than a walk. it was so considerate and really made the trip great. overall this is a fairly standard campsite. flush toilets, a dishwashing sink (it had a ton of ants so we didn't use it). bear box, picnic table and grill at each site. some sites have shade but not all. really beautiful view of the mountains. would stay here again, and cooler than the rest of the park.

Small pull out on forest road ideal for tent camping. The road in isn't too bad until the last mile or so. I bottomed out my Honda Accord a few times. There are a few deep ruts. I was able to back my car in and set up a tent behind it. There's a downed tree behind the spot. The parking area is not level, but there is room behind the parking spot for a level tent.

An older but nice quiet campground. Only 3 other campers in the campground. Some sites are short, mainly designed for tent camping but still room to get a small camper in them. Restrooms were clean and neat. The concessionaire came through daily and checked on things. We were in site 15, close to the restroom. Water is available at the water pump. $22 per night.

It isn't the driveway to the fire station.... go to the next one west. LOL
OK.. we pulled around the building and on the backside you see a 2in high speed water outlet. That isn't the right one. Continue around the building and you will find the typical "garden hose" connection and a coin machine. Make your connection to the spigot and have your hose ready to fill your containers/RVs. As soon as you put in the first quarter water will start to flow. There is a faded sign that says for $1 you get about 20 gallons. If you put in $1, it will shut off automatically after 20 gals, which was perfect for us. Add additional quarters for additional water.

Kirsten and Jose offer you a beautiful place on their 40 hectare property. Both are still busy with the construction. If you are looking for absolute peace and nature, this is the place for you. There are many animals that live here. Access is via a dirt road. Easily doable. Everyone from motorcycles to large trucks are welcome. There are toilets and showers. There is also the possibility to spend the night in a beautiful log cabin. Both have traveled with their Landrover for many years and are happy to welcome guests. They speak Spanish, English, French and German.
We were warmly welcomed and would highly recommend the stay.
Kirsten is looking forward to your call and questions

Very nice spacious site that feels pretty private because of how far up you have to drive. Could fit several cars or small rigs up here and the road up is suitable for all vehicles. Great views overlooking the land below and nice to have some shade. There were a lot of flies and mosquitos though.

Quiet area, & walking distance to town. $30 for electric spot & only 2 RVs on a Wednesday night. Asked for pigtail since the 220 hookup was old school. Great option if you’d like to camp close to town. I have 24ft RV & backed in easily. No fire pit & they have no “rules” or check out time.

6am: easy and smooth boarder crossing that took us in total 2 hours. friendly officials on both side.

We have been caught and interviewed by the Russian police the day before. During the interview they told us it is better to return to Georgia. They said a Swedish tourist has been rejected at this boarder two months ago. I do not know if this is true, we could easily pass.

This is a cargo terminal.

Our travel book said that there are ferries for passengers and vehicles running to Turkmenistan from this harbour. When asking at the harbour we got suspicious. The police came and we got interviewed for 3-4 hours. Whatever cargo goes through this harbour, stay away to avoid troubles.

Very lovely spot, close to the creek. You can hear the highway, but you are hidden from view. Access a little narrow, but doable with any kind of car (or small camper, but nothing bigger). First stop is not flat at all, I wouldn't sleep there. Middle one is leveled, and bigger, and cant say for the last one as someone was already there, but I suppose it was fine if he chosed it. Lots of mosquitoes. Clean when we were here. I really recommend !

Looking for a place to camp in this climb, we found a flat space in this switchback. You’re only visible from one side but because it is so close to the road, you have a lot of noise even at night. Otherwise a good spot for one night. No Claro signal.

Here it is possible to go explore the park and (non officially) to go see gorillas.

For us all was booked and we were ready to go but we had kind of an argue with our drunked guide who wanted lots of extra gifts so eventually we decided not to go. This experience is ours and if you come there maybe you can have an awesome time.

Xavier is in charge here (WhatsApp: +237 97 21 40 70). Prices are :
5k/pp/day park entrance
5k/day guide
6k/day ecoguard
60k boat transport (same day return)
90k boat transport (different day return)
40k non official gorillas tracker pygmy group
5k/night tent rental

As far as we understood you need two days to go see the gorillas.

We're upset not to had the chance of having relying people on the spot to come with. The experience they propose seems like an awesome adventure.

Wide spot in front of the gates. Many fire pits in the trees. I parked on the side with out blocking the gates. Saw elks and possibly a couple wolves. Hiked past the gates and the road opened in to a nice open area that looks like an old camp or ranch.

Hidden spot between the rocks, protected from wind. Nice view to the ocean and great sunset. This is on the way to Playa La Virgen, so you will pass Las Agatas camping (white domos) and turn right like going to the mirador where’s a sign saying “Prohibido bucear” (forbidden to dive) just before this point to the left.
At sunset there was a few guys picking seaweed, after they left there was no one around. Very quiet. We made it with our 4x2 Mitsubishi L300. Enjoy the place & leave it clean.

Very nice cluster of sites spaced apart fairly decently. Only one other site occupied by a couple with a large camper. There’s sites on the side shoot, I missed the turnoff but was able to come back where it dumped out back to the main track. Good Verizon cell service. Woke up to very loud logging operations but that didn’t really affect our opinion of this place.

Quiet, clean, but long list of rules. They may not like a self modified rig, but call to ask. I think a lot of campgrounds here have closed down. 905.308.9120

Still an awesome spot, right on the creek. Track down is fine with 2wd. Several spots at this site, but you can basically camp everywhere around Sisters in the forests so you're spoiled for choice. When you ask at the ranger station they're happy to provide directions to some more nice spots.

I loved this spot. Stayed here a week. I would recommend going right at the split and coming down that way - lots of space for both vehicles and tents. Going left will give you side pull offs which are fine too. Full Verizon and t mobile coverage. Do not need 4x4. Beautiful spot!
