Upscale Italian bistro a bit above the typical Overlander budget, but sublime dishes for a treat or special occasion? We loved the pasta siciliana and pasta with baby octopus. Pet friendly....nice lawn setting and open air shade under umbrellas and roof.

VEGETABLES!!!

Great spot, chill atmosphere/music on the roof of an apartment complex. Ring the bell that says “thai food”...you will also see a sign “thai food” on the top of the building. Excellent sunset view, but water is obstructed by the buildings in front.

Note, this is Thai food....in Peru. Don’t expect it to be the same.

We met Rolando at the JSM station while getting LP Gas at Punta Arenas and he invited us to his Finca. What a place!! Middle of the mountains, full of monkeys and every other animals on their environment. They need some help getting the space more capable for camping so you can stay for free and give them a hand with it. The last KM from the road is dirt as you can imagine here in Costa Rica but we made it with no issues with our 29ft long class C. At the entrance there is space for 2 or 3 van and if you are in a 4*4 you can access inside.
They have tons of fruit trees and also cultivate fish inside the Finca. We were able to help him gather the dinner there ;)
Around here you have a river with incredible Pozas and views from the top where you can see the Pacific.
They don't speak English but welcome everyone here.

I was there during the week out of school holidays. But we were more than 100. Ok for the talk and video but soo long to have a glimpse on the telescope ! And lots of lights coming from the parking just in front of the observatory's roof. Worst touristic experience in a long time...

We were here last November and found this spot taken, but today it was vacant. Of the many spots on this plateau, this one offers the best view. It's the most frequented and it shows: many tracks leading here, the improvised table, fire ring and tons of garbage.

We enjoyed the sunset, took an (outdoors) shower-with-a-view, had a drink watching the lights of the village below, listened to the sealions roaring and spent another quiet, undisturbed night. Lovely humid sea climate after weeks of high Andes dryness.

All the other hotels and guest houses were full so this was a last resort!
10000Tsh a night reflects the sort of level you can expect.
Parking at rear is gated, rooms have mosquito nets and tvs.
Shower doesn’t seem to work but we were offered hot water in a bucket.

We cannot for a night here, the little town is very nice. There are clean toilets near the church and water also. We were able to plug in our van at the port side. There is also communal WiFi available. Very nice and very quiet.

Very basic local accommodation. 60 Kwatcha for a bedroom. Squat toilets and bucket shower outside. In any case, much better option than the overpriced Bridge Camp. Be aware of the loud music coming from the bar across the street.
Food and souvenirs stalls few netter away in the village market.

Because of the rain, the path is not good at this time. We couldn't go to the end. (We took the right path, maybe it's better on the left, but didn't try). But we slept near the ruins 1km before the point, which was as well a quiet solution.

Spent two nights here before and after our visit to Iguazu. It is very quiet around the back and plenty of spots to choose from between the truckers and trees. Hot showers are great, the womens is in the toilet block at the YPF (only one) and the mens is around the back (about 5). They are free as far as we know. Food in the Full is not bad we tried some burgers and they have a salad bar to load your burger with veggies.

Back country parking lot for the tamiami trail. Tamiami Trail has six service stations constructed along the most remote stretch of the road through Collier County, much of which is within Big Cypress National Preserve, today. The stations provided a welcome rest to the road-weary traveler, whose ultimate goal was the sun and sand of tropical Florida. Monroe Station is one of only two of the stations that remain today, and is located in the heart of the national preserve.

Lady at Information Center sent us to this street when we asked where we could park for free. Near the port where ships leave for river trips and Mercado Frutas. Overnight o.k. Very narrow and short spaces for small cars but if you can find a pull through spot and are under 22 meters long you can fit in.

Good for a night. The beach is not pretty, but reasonably clean. Busy with cars 24/7, even during weekdays, but not too noisy so no problems sleeping.

At night you can see the waves turn bright green, which was fun to watch.

Radisson wifi now works with sms-code, worked fine for us.
