One of the coolest campgrounds I’ve stayed at. There is a campsite about 50ft from the gorge with a breathtaking view. I highly recommend this site. There are lots of hiking trails all around the area as well.

Took the advice below and went across the river to the campsite to view the source. Asked for a lower rate based on where we from, but to no avail. Well worth it at the other side though!

If wanting a brilliant view of the source of the Nile together with seeing the John Hanning Speke (the man who claimed to have discovered this source of the Nile) monument, this is a great spot! With the green grass, shady trees and drink at the bar, the amount paid for this is more than justified and reasonable relative to the check in on other side of the river. We did not make use of the camping facilities.

We stayed here for 2 months during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The place is absolutely fantastic. 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) bathroom with bath and shower, toilet, lounge & kitchen.

There is a garage available to park your vehicle (height dependant) but there is also access to the gated back garden where it is also possible to park. (Big rig friendly)

The view of the bay is incredible, with huge flocks of flamingos, many seals and sometimes dolphins.

The owners are really nice as well. They did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

Getting into town is a 5 minute drive where there are many supermarkets etc

Swakopmund is about 20 minutes away.

Water spigot with hose thread next to air machine, west end of front side of building. It's the lever handle type on its own post. No signage to say it's not potable. Clean restrooms, showers $12, good food and 12v accessories selection. Parking looks possible in spaces on the edges of the parking lot, a little bright and noisy though. Cleaners and nicer than the trunk stop across the street.

Clean, but the vending machines are not currently stocked.

Still a very nice place. View to the bridge is amazing. Does have signs that say maximum of 4 hours parking. We stayed for a night without problems.

Walmart security employee came by and made sure we knew they had. a 1 night a month policy. Anyone who stays more that one night will be asked to leave. Several of us were over our stay. no problem as there are hundreds of places just outside the city limits

Parking directly next to the nature reserve Kulia-Gunnarstorp. Great view over the bay/sea and denmark. Busy with local hikers/runners who are very friendly. No facilities apart from the toilets at the other nearby parking (to the south).

Best Mechanic ever. Super fast and super good. Changed motor oil, diesel, air and oil filter, some work at the doors. Total 160Usd.

We have stayed here in times of corona, when there was a stay-home from 10pm til 5am. Nice stay and great view over Talca

BUT!!!
Everyone we met in Talca told us that it is very dangerous, that people will threaten you, steal from you and even they kill people there. One night even the police passed by and told us that it is too dangerous to stay there. They wouldn‘t let us sleep there and even wanted to escort us to a safe place. But since we have got to know people who life there we could sleep im their garden.
Sleeping down at the river is even worse.

Huge private parking lot. Arrived at the petrol station at night and asked for a place to sleep. They opened up the gates next door and let us in. Private and secure

Dumping is also possible, $8. could dump and refill fresh water at an empty site.

Nice quiet place to stay, but road up the hill was pretty rough.

arrived late last night in the rain. we took the easiest spot we could find right on the water and woke up to a pristine view. only spotted one other rv. lots of trees down from recent storms.

Street parking all along this road with about 5 RVs also parked here. No “no overnight parking” signs on the stretch of the road that’s still 45mph.

Once it gets to 25mph (closer to the parking that has good views) there are signs that don’t allow parking 10p-6a. My plan is to wake up at 6a and then snag one of those great spots at the end of the road.

Street sweeping 1st & 3rd Thursdays 12:30p-4:30p.

Great views, quiet and peaceful. 4 bars T-Mobile 5g. Fair amount of nails around fire pit, and buggy in the afternoon but worth it.

Flat grassy square by the fjord. Good for 2 tents or just to enjoy the sunset. Parking place 50m up. You can't drive down by car, but still nice place just for dinner, and you sleep on the parking. Really quiet road.

I follow the the vibe of bare overland on this spot and it’s spectacular, I’m here now enjoying the view on my inflatable couch with a glass of wine by the fire. With google map the GPS it is spot on for one of the camp (the best one I think) but the road (trail) to get there is just a bit further south from the GPS mark, a little trail off firewood rd corner of westside rd, about 400 meter south off westside rd

We were trying to go to Angel Lake and Google didn't understand this wasn't the route. gave it a shot and it's a two track that leads to a nice flat spit right before a waterway that would be great for camping. 4x4 not necessary as long as the roads are dry but you'll want something high clearance. very remote and beautiful! good cell service at&t

A good camping area off the dirt road going to Webster Flat. Plenty of firewood.

Flat spot along gravel road with a lot of picnic tables and fire rings. View nice but better at the end of the road (lake).

Yes, a nice place. Popular. We stayed 4 nights, with a revolving cast of campers - always with neighbours but the sites, all with fire rings, are nicely spaced. The parking lot - busy during the day - is a trailhead for hikers / rock climbers. The trains are loud and frequent, as are the trucks turning into the landfill across the highway - not a problem. The trains give the place a Hobo Village vibe?

We heard from locals that at night it is very dangerous there. Drug dealers and bad people around and even sleep there
