I parked at the right location and walked around a bit. I didnt find the facilities as described. no wifi, no hot showers, no drinking water or running water toilets. I dont know, maybe I missed something... maybe facilities are in the church or some shop? didnt like the vibe of the place anyways. left to the El Arbolito spot nearby.

Easy to spot. Right in the middle of downtown. Safe gated parking and clean rooms for $10. WiFi is almost unusable though. Good place to stay if your crossing from Ecuador or Columbia. About an hour from the border.

According to the locals the best VW classic mechanic in Santiago!

We had some major engine failure (2.0 aircooled) and got the advise of some local T3 owners to go here. It turned out that one of our heads was completely worn. Luis and his team took out the engine, took it all apart and rebuilded it with new parts (bought at Velizwagen, see other iOverlander place). The workshop is tidy and clean and they work concentrated and precisely. They seem to have a lot of experience with technical work like engine rebuilds of beetles, kombi’s and T3. While we were there two beetles and a kombi were in de workshop too. Good place to go if you have some serious work to be done. However, they are always very busy and it is best to contact them in advance and to make an appointment. You can’t just go there and expect that they have time immidiately/the same day..

This is the place to find parts for your Volkswagen kombi T3 / T2. The owner speaks a little bit english and is very kind. We needed a complete new head for our T3 2.0 aircooled engine including new valves and a gasket/sealing package. Also bought a new oil filter.

Spent 2 nights here. We parked next to a huge palapa, where we could plug our fridge. Not much sun to charge our solar panels but besides that it was a lovely stay. We had the entire place for ourselves, Las Pozas is 5 minutes walking distance, hot showers, toilets and the owner is super friendly. Wifi doesn’t work very well, expect very low signal and slow connection. But besides that all great. 50p per person and dogs allowed. The owner has 4 adorable dogs. And there is so much space for our puppy to run around. Excellent camping site.

on of the best sceneries on south America so far. the western part of the drive and the glacier is not very exciting but this road is stunning. I recommend to start on this side so you can be sure to go in good weather. when it's dry its pretty easy on a motorbike

Nice spot treated badly.
Trees providing the shade. At this time of the year, relatively slow moving and shallow river, perhaps good for swimming.

Some 25m down the river the gas powered pump goes full blast. Considarable amount of garbage.
We did not stay for those two reasons.

Well..... I am sure this is the cheapest garafon fill in whole Mexico - 4 (four) pesos per garafon. With garafon wash.

Seriously.......

It is community owned and operated, that answers the questions about such low pricing.

Hours of operation:
Summer / 9-13 and 17-19
Winter / 9-13 and 16-18
Saturday / 9-14
Sunday /closed
..... See attached photo

The water comes from the well and the purification process includes 3 stage filtration, ozonation and UV.

Limited access to vehicles <20Ft...... They do not have a hose to fill holding tanks of RVs anyway.

Stayed two nights at this interesting place. Just to see.
Generator country.
Street lights are strong, so lots of light in your RV if your curtains aren't pitch black. Worse than a walmart.
Enjoy.

On the border between Northern Territories and South Australia is on the west side of the road a large rest area with toilet, picnic benches and water. 24 hour overnight camping is allowed. Across the road a short path leads to a large field with trees that give some shadow and patches of grass. The field is fenced and apparently intended as overflow area, but it is much nicer than the rest area itself.

Great place. Large, well established semi permanent holiday home with space for camping. We'll groomed land, share, clean toilets, lovely pool overlooking the lagoon and mountains. Barbecue places. Blissful. R$30 pppn but it is at that level for sure.

They said we could stay overnight if we ate in the restaurant, meal, beef or fish, cost B$10.50 for 2 including a beer. Don’t expect too much! Restaurant open 7 to 10pm when we were here. We parked up near the house with lovely view over the pond. A number of vehicles stopped for dinner, then no one all night. For this part of Brazil the traffic is light (very good road), therefore relatively little road noise. No external facilities therefore you need to be self sufficient. Great overnight stop.
