Such an amazing place. Was meant to stay in xela but didn't like it when we got there and was so glad we left when we pulled in here. Can park in carpark which is well off the road for 200q per car and get to use hot showers, toilets and beautiful pools. Would definitely recommend over Las cumbres up the road.

A small collection of clothes and food stalls, including a small pool, shower, clean toilets, vegan poke bowl and juice, vegan tacos, coffee shop, artisan clothing and trinkets.

Parking is easy, a block down the road towards the ocean/athletics pitch.

Delicious food and very friendly staff. We went here numerous times while staying in Playa del Carmen.

Free entry.

we stayed in the front of the cultural parque la garza roja. it's free in the nature near the river very quiet. we just ask the guardian if it's alowed to stay. the only problems here seems to be the mosquitos.. in the day if you pay the entrance in the parque you will have toilet, restaurant, shower, swimmingpool, museum very nice and many more... it's the perfect place whith childrens.

See descriptions above. Joep en Juul are lovely people, the kind with whom you feel comfortable from the very first moment. Amazing views. We met other really nice overlanders here, which is also a plus. ;-) We tried everything they offered and it was all superb (bread for 5000, jam for 6000, yoghurt for 2000, beer for 2500, wine for 17000 a bottle, the washing machine for 7000). Advisable to bring food for dinner when you're planning to arrive in the late afternoon/evening since there is no shop nearby, Barichara is a 10 minutes drive but it tends to rain in the area in the evening. That's what overcame us, but Joep and Juul were so kind to offer us some of there vegetables! Defenitely worth to go there!

It was calm and nice.
Many people (some king and some not) asked for money of food.

We swam on the river, it was go great for the last stop of Belize ! Great to close a month here this way !

Really nice place run by a dutch couple. Seems to be turning into an overlander hotspot. They offer homemade bread, joghurt and are absolutely nice. Immaculate bathroom - outdoor shower which will give you the feeling of being in Bali. Nice walk into the town. Moreover, you can do the Camino Real. You can also use their kitchen, etc. Drinks can also be bought on site.Try their marmelade!

There are multiple shelters in the area, but no electricity here, so I think oscarsometro was at one of the other ones. You'll encounter a gate, but you can open it and drive all the way up to the shelter. Wood for the fire place is provided. After thelongwaytoindia was here, a huge wooden "Bog Hotel" was added, so you have a dry place out of the wind to sit and sleep. They added even more this year, but I don't want to spoil the surprise. Just come to this place.

Great historical place in centre of town and lots of other places within walking distance. We parked two large expedition vehicles behind the Cathedral for several nights (free). Make sure you park on the grass/dirt area on the right hand side up against the wall. Don't drive through the gate as the gate will be locked at night. Fast internet if you have your own Sim card.

Probably the only place on the island almost always have food ready. Lunch starts around 12:30pm. Waiting time will be much less if you tell the lady beforehand. Overall, very good price, delicious food and good portion!

Plenty of places off the lakeside sandy road to pull off and park. Maybe part of National Park as the southern entrance to the lake has an official sign in English and a gateway. The road/tracks down from the bitumen are not too bad with a bit of corrugation and dips so it’s slow going. The lake itself is hard to access as it turns into soggy grass/marsh full of animal dung, but there are swans and ducks and an uninterrupted view to snow covered mtns way off. Yurts in the distance, may have a visit!

Small parking lot close to the lake. There is a basketball field and other stuff very close, too.
It belongs to a place called "The Lakeview" but there are no signs saying overnight parking is forbidden. We stayed two nights without a problem.
