Good to stay for 1-2 nights, close to the center. Yes, noise from the street, but for us okay.

Corretion* the 100kw in the previous post is only for the third party of Zambia. For the Comesa for two countries (no Zambia, cause third party) is for 30 days is 216kw.

Make sure you receive the yellow paper. Very friendly people.

Close at saturday at 1500.

Big gravel parking space with a nice view at the ocean. some trucks stayed overnight. locals come to watch the sunset. If you're lucky you might see some dolphins or even whales. No toilets, no hiding from the wind.

Grassy place in front of the river and the campsite.
Pretty quiet for a Saturday night - we heard a motocross multiple times and also a train !
Safe place, we went at the back of the place - dirty with papers and condoms..

Public showers at the beach : you have to cross the bridge, turn right just after and reach the public toilets. There were removed from there to be put on the sand behind.

The ruins are amazing and well worth a visit! I enjoyed the full hike and loved meandering through the jungle exploring the many structures and saw many monkeys, birds, butterflies, a snake and an opossum type creature. The museum is very worthwhile too. The road is great the 20 km to the museum. The road is good the next 40 km to the site but more narrow and curvy. No potholes and just the occasional low hanging branch. It’s a lot faster by car but doable by class b vans. They do not want you to park at the museum. And if you have a dog with you they will not let you pass through the second checkpoint to the ruins. They will not allow you to park and leave your dog in the car at the museum parking lot. You will save yourself a lot of trouble by leaving your dog outside the reserve either at the entrance or one of the cabana or restaurant locations. It’s not about money, it’s against the federal rules and they’ve had problems.

Great wild camping spot under the trees! Quiet and beautiful beach to watch a great sunset. You can stand there for free and If you wish you can ask the owner to open up the water for a shower and toilet. We were alone at the beach.in the morning some tourists.

No facilities. Lots of space and minor road noise. Great for jeeps as you can follow the off-road trails and get a long way away from the other groups of campers

Amelia, Victor and Tito were too kind. Perfect location just opposite the beach. Very private, we were on our own and surprisingly quiet. Nice outdoor kitchen and lounge area. Our Fiat Ducato fitted in nicely. Anything wider might be a challenge to get through the gate. Paid S 35 for 2 pax and motorhome

Update on border crossing, Land Cruiser followed us through with no major issues. Bets are off if it rains a lot more.

Update on road from Nyanga to Dolisie, bad gravel for most with very bad gravel from the Niari river (90km from Dolisie) until about 30km from Dolisie (gravel with continuous holes, ruts, corrugations that are not big rig friendly, very slow!). New road is growing from the Dolisie end and looks like it will include this bad section in the coming years. Expect route to be smoother after a lot of rain but not in a good way, lots of clay.

Beautiful campsite (sorry! Don’t remember the name!). 5,000 pp but AMAZING HOT showers with great water pressure and cleaned every day. Flushing toilets. BBQs (bring your own wood). Electricity and a light bulb provided at each site (not when you arrive but the man will bring it to you). He also has two row boats, paddles & life vests you can use (included in the price, just have to ask and he will bring them to your campsite). No one else during week day, 4 other families on weekend. Drive all the way to the end of the road where the river confluence is for the best spots.
No kitchen but there are sinks for washing dishes.

Just a few additional notes to add. The bugs are pretty bad. Noseeums in the late afternoon, and mosquitoes after dusk. We have a dog, and there are prickers in every direction off the grass(ish) fields. So if your dog likes to explore, you will be picking hundreds of burrs off. Spots are pretty big. Not sure the water is potable, but cold showers available. Water smells very metallic, which might be ok. but we did not drink it. AT&T service is pretty limited. Better at the beginning of the property. Road is pretty washboard when we came, so take your time if your rig is heavy. Overall nice spot, and the trees around are beautiful.

We booked a great one day rafting trip on the fantastic Jatunyacu (class III) River. We felt super safe with a professional company! And had a lot of fun with our 3! guides. Highly recommended (Irish) family run enterprise (therefore English speaking).
There are also very cozy cabañas with a really nice pool and bar!

Good location for access to wide variety of shops downtown. A$500 per night. Open wifi was fast with our booster. No Pool and it was HOT. Road noise at night. We stayed two nights. Bathrooms not in great shape (no TP of course) but hot water ok in shower. Staff struggled to get us a fillup for our water tank.

This is a gravel parking lot for a local climbing shop. $6/night. Right outside the Hueco Tanks State Park. We pulled in late and payed at the drop box. Super chill with a bunch of other dirtbags. Perfect for us.
