With our 3,20m high rig and 2 dogs, this was our only option in El Paredon & we were turned down by 5 different places.

Luckily, the place is lovely! Parking is a very basic gravel lot (would fit 3-4 rigs with leaving enough space for guests). Price is 30Q per night which is by far the cheapest in town we could find. Dogs are very welcome, they have 3 of their own. Bathrooms, cold (but nice!) shower, awesome pool and chill out area can be used. It also has a restaurant, El Tiburon, that does really good but slightly expensive food. We did eat here a lot though as we saved so much on camping and it was very convenient. There is free coffee in the morning, the beach is a stone throw away and everybody is lovely! We really enjoyed our experience and only left after 4 days as the surf was too big for me. For us definitely the best place in town. Quiet at night if dogs are not barking!

We didnt need electricity but there seem to be a possibility to plug in with an extension
cord. Not sure if they would charge.

Great location is snow wasn’t in the forecast. Altitude is actually 6800 not 2600. Also do t know what OP means by “several” spots on the way up. Maybe just pull outs on the cliffs. No place to actually camp.

Camping is no longer allowed on this beach. The entire town is not camping friendly. There are signs everywhere that stipulate no camping, and it seems to be quite enforced.

Camping is not allowed here anymore. We parked here in the afternoon and cooked some lunch; security guards stopped by and said cooking was not allowed and asked us to clean up. They hovered over us until we were done. (The day before many locals were cooking so not sure the deal). Weekends seem to be more enforced.

Quiet spot. A police car came over the parking lot and said nothing. I'm on the private spot and the guy told me it was OK. 20 min from downtown of Savannah. 👍 Good alternative of the Convention Center if you have to pay (sometimes).

Decided to stay here rather than drive into Dakar at night. There is a secure garage where we parked our motorbike, it would fit a couple of 4X4’s. We paid 14,000 CFA for double room, with bathroom and fan, 16,400 CFA for double with air con. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and there is quick WIFI. The water was cold but had just finished a long and very hot drive so not an issue. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good, 1,000 CFA for a Flag beer, 1,500 for Riz au poison, 2,500 steak and chips.

Cool observatory. We were only the three of us and paid 5000 pesos each for a private 2h tour. It was really great and worth the money! They have one English speaking guide! tours are at 21:00 and 23:00 each day...

We recommend it! :)

We parked in this street of the Cherokee Park, which was close to downtown and dark/quiet enough at night. There was activity on the morning (Saturday) but it remains a good spot. No restriction board seen. Other cars were parked on street.

Toilets and trash cans in the park.

Very small streets getting there. Anything bigger than a Sprinter might not make it.

Great prices.

2 miles from I5, this is a BLM recreation area that provides for a free, serene overnight stop. The first mile is paved, the second is a good dirt road, suitable for any rig (unless there have been heavy rains). The area is open during the non-fire hazard months, closing from mid-April to the end of November, typically. Check for details here: https://www.blm.gov/visit/tumey-hills. Shooting is allowed so if you arrive before sundown, expect folks to be target shooting throughout the area. There is room in the first parking lot after the sign on the left side of the road to park overnight. One can also drive in further and park/camp pretty much anywhere, provided your vehicle is no more than 15 ft from a road and you're easily visible so you don't inadvertently get fired at. There is a pit toilet at a day use parking lot up from the entry parking lot about 500 yards. 2 bars of Verizon 4G, 10.5 down/4.3 up.

For us, this spot is great as an alternative to Harris Ranch on our way back north from the desert/eastern Sierra. Harris is perfect for pulling in & sleeping in a safe, albeit bright, place. Tumey Hills is more fun to arrive late afternoon, shoot some stuff (or not, not a requirement), & enjoy the solitude once darkness falls & the shooters are gone for the night.

Exceptional view! Enter by crossing over cattle guard on opposite side of highway from microwave relay station. Very good sandy roads, no ruts, if you can make it over the cattle guard the rest of the drive is a breeze.
The road weaves between the pinion pine and juniper trees and therefore would be on suitable for large RV's for trailer combinations.

Cheapest hotel we could find in Livingstone. Starts at 80 Kwacha, up to 180 Kwacha. We got the room for 150 Kwacha. Now, this isn't the sort of place you want to have your honeymoon at, it's a dive. But it'll do the trick. Double bed, mosquito net, shower, sheets seemed clean, working TV and fan in room. Room was full of mosquitos though because the window was wide open and it was raining. Lots of weird water stains on the ceiling. Bathroom was not very nice. So there are tradeoffs. Lodge next door asked for 350 Kwacha for what looks to he identical rooms, it's an expensive town.

I think they dug out some stones here to make a base for a new road. There's still a big pile left over that is big enough to shelter behind. it's just 200m from the road but out of sight. Nobody came here but in the morning we did get the company of some camels passing by...very quiet and dark at night. we just stayed for one night. only with 4x4 accessible.
