smidovi.wordpress.com | This place is big. You can stay on the rocky beach or hide (like us) in small place on the right side just after you leave the road. You can find some wind protection (but not many). The main road is close by, but not too much traffic during night and it is paved so its not so loud.

Dumbask | Average walmart experience. I don't think it's a 24 hour walmart, but we weren't bothered for the night we stayed. |

David McIver | Indian Casino, just off the 10 freeway (220 highway). Well lighted, security and quite a lot of room. Sign says “24 hours maximum” but the word from security is that it is loosely enforced. In any case they say that one has to leave the property and immediately return to meet the rule. About as noisy as one would expect but free is the key. |

bellinghausen | We spend one night here with our 4x4 with rooftop tent. We found one spot between some trees that was leveled enough to sleep in, lots of shade. It was very quiet at night and in the morning we had breakfast with lots of macaws (Aras) right above us. We payed 8$ p/p/n without electricity. Could use the kitchen which was nice. The showers and restrooms had no lights still. Owner was very nice but only speaks spanish so we made it work with a translator app 😉 added some updated pictures. |

blindingedge720 | Calm. No wind. my lifted minivan made it just fine. a regular car can make it here, going slow. Gorgeous views of the river below, but so many bugs, I had to retreat back down 1/2 mile. empty all too myself 🚀🧑🚀 |

instagram.com/akvoyagers | Not bad- there was a host who greeted us at the check in gate. The campground was pretty much full with empty campers saving spots for hunting season. They are allowed to park there all season long (which is basically September through May) A few people staying long term with one guy running a generator all day and all night long. 3 different pit toilets all very full, one was decently clean. The road in is wonderful and definitely big rig friendly if you can find a spot. Lots of muddy areas too that could have been potential camp spots but we didn’t want to risk getting stuck. I imagine this place is completely packed during big game seasons. Dollar general, gas station and a farm stand with eggs, strawberries and local honey about 20 minutes down the highway. Stayed 3 nights. Bugs were horrendous but we have a screened in awning. Some partying on the weekend but that’s to be expected. Looked like a couple spots up front with hook ups but we didn’t ask- not sure if they charge for those or not- they were all full anyway. Non potable water available at the game cleaning station up front. |

flagorio | This shop does suspensions and shocks. They have a press so they try to repair your leaf springs rather than replace. They have three bays for service. They are inexpensive but do quality work. |

starrynights | Probably one of best places I've camped in AZ! You get to camp free in place with most all varieties of mature cactus just feet away, great rock formations, and just 4.5 mi to beautiful town of Ajo. Best groceries at Olsens IGA on north side of town, and just beyond in Belly Acres RV park where you can stop in for a 50 cent hot shower! Many dirt roads in walking distance with more sites; be sure to explore. Easy day trip to Organ Pipe NP, but think scenery very similar. This is better than 5 star! |

jdchazin | This place is awesome but keep in mind they are closed in the off-season during the winter so there isn’t much available to help. The pit toilets are still accessible and you still have to pay five bucks a night but a small fee for a world class windsurfing and wavesailing location. Potential for crazy side off winds and a decent swell. I unfortunately only scored a couple good days but those days were legendary wavesailing days for sure. Please note this is not a place for people to learn to Windsurf or kitesurf. Only go out here if you are an advanced sailor. It’s side off for most of the time and when the Santa Anna‘s roll through you have to watch out for getting blown into an island. Also it’s 100% pack in/pack out there is nothing here it’s just you, your rig and the desert. Rip it up! |

lydpat | Really bad experience! We came to this shop due to very loud noises in the rear axle. They figured it is the rear wheel bearings. I trusted their assessment and got it changed. Problem still persisted after 2 days of work and changing all of the bearings... Only after insisting the problem was still there, they realized it was the shocks that needed replacing. So did that as well. Everything was very expensive but we were just happy to be on our way thinking everything is good. 2 months later in the US we broke down on the road while doing 60, rear wheel completely blocked. Had to be towed to a shop. Disassembled all the rear wheels again, and there it was. I've never seen a bearing like that, completely dissolved! While dissassembling the guys here said the nut was tightened so hard, the bearing couldn't turn anymore. They did that on both sides, so it wasn't just an accident. For being the "expert" VW shop in Baja and being overpriced as it is, if they even can't change a bearing.. Avoid this place! After our experience I was hearing other bad stories from locals... Just happy we didn't crash and upset we paid those guys for doing a very bad job and have to redo it again... |

hbaird003 | Very quiet place to spend a night. Faint sound of the freeway in the background but not too loud. Only a few vehicles passed by during my time here. Close to Joshua Tree National Park entrances. Decent cell coverage on T-Mobile and AT&T. Encountered some flies and other bugs while there but nothing too serious. |
