Nice and peaceful place overlooking the surroundings. Next to the road but extremely quiet. We didn’t see anybody between 16:00 till 10:00 next morning. No MTC network.

Large gravel lot next to a defunct gas station, much further away from the 2 highways and relatively quiet. Also no traffic on the road next to it as this is the old highway 58 and not used anymore..
Gas stations and restaurants are close by,
Showers avalaible at the Pilot Travel Center.

Austrians stop entering vehicles and check passports, but still no problem. On Hungarian side noone.
The nearest gas station doesn't fill more than 20l, but others in the vicinity do (mol lets to fill 100l)

As others have observed, this is a nice spot just past the 3 mile no camping zone that runs along the lake. Getting level was not overly difficult, but the ability to raise/lower front to back is helpful here. Fairly quiet over the middle of the night, with cars picking up to around 1 per minute during the late evening and early morning hours. Room for maybe 3 full-size rigs if they coordinate. We were by ourselves, so able to get 50-75 feet off the highway nestled up against the trees.

Prices are now R 120pp plus R 50 for vehicle. ok place - nothing special. The campsite itself is in a small forest. Truck driver should check before how far they want to drive in (low hanging branches).
As alternative they can stand in the big open grassy field (day visitor area?). However there is no electricity and one has to walk some meter more to the bathroom.
The whole area is a bit uneven.

Absolutely loved this place. It's been on my wish list for a while. Met some great people and spent the evening enjoying the quiet (aside from the music from one of the springs!)

This guy made really nice clothes for us! He is very friendly and did not try to cheat us at all. He even went with us to the store to select the materials. Price was 300 - 400 Dalasi/piece. Recommended! WhatsApp Number: +220 514 7466

We attempted to reach this or one of the other sites on the rim of the canyon but the dirt road turned out to be impassible for our van. We got stuck in soft sand in the road, couldn’t arrange help until the next day, and the help, coming from Kanab, is very expensive.

Still available. We got there at nighttime so the field was hard to see. When you make a right from the road, follow the dirt pathway until the end, and then make another right. You will see the grass field then.
Some noise from trucks throughout the night and more traffic started around 7am. This seems to be a place where locals come during the weekend because there's trash around the area. Good for one night.

Safe spot for the night. Two other overlanders here. Night yard crew came through around 10:30 though picking up trash & using a leaf blower..which was weird. but no one bothered me.

We stayed here for 2 nights. S30 per person and in a camper. This is an exceptional location on the rim of the canyon, the view is magnificent. The food is very good. Not cheap, but definately worthwhile. Do not miss this experience.

Stayed here 1 nite. Very quiet except for the rushing river mere meters away. Overnight road traffic was non existent. Morning and evening traffic was sporadic. We saw kayaker and rafters stop nearby.

For folks following the TEMBR, this is church on the side of the road with a covered area. We asked the ladies around and they said folks have stopped here and camped for the night. Water from spigot and plugs 🔌 that work.

We stopped only to eat a snack and kept going to Loja but if you need a spot to camp, this might be a good option.

A campground run by the municipality at Baudette, MN. $35/night for sites with electric and water (no sewer). About 20 first come first serve sites- the rest are by reservation. I found a space for Memorial Day Weekend: arrived on Thursday! Clean showers and bathrooms with running g water. Boat launch and fish cleaning station. $20 for tent sites - they are a bit far from the bathroom. Sites have camp tables, fire ring and they are almost flat. Pretty quiet place.

NOISY. Soda vending machine took my two dollars, but was out of everything except water. Between the trucks all running their generators, the road traffic which is only 20 feet away in the trains which is just beyond that it is so loud you cannot hear yourself think. It is crowded. One truck pulls out in another pulls in. It does have a place to walk your dog. And there are spigots that you could fill up your water tank if you could get a parking face in front of one of them. Did I mention it was crowded? And NOISY?
