Protest shut down the other highway so we took this as a detour. Was not stopped at the military checkpoint and made it through safely with no problems.

Everything here was amazing! Abby and Carmen go above and beyond. The wifi was fast. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were great, plenty of hot water. The location is perfect to escape the noise of town. A great private spot on the river. I will recommend Abby's Hideaway to all my friends.

Steps to the beach. Sleepy little area. Flat gravel parking. We're in front of a empty lot but the locals said we could park anywhere in this area. A few seafood restaurants right on the beach. Toilets available but probably for a few pesos. Showers are advertised at Mar y Arena for $10mxp but they looked under repair. Great stretch of beach and the waves are outside our window. Verizon 4g strong.

Great little spot once you find a flat spot. It’s quite a big area and a stunning sunrise. I’m sure sunset would be even more spectacular.

It's a nice location. on the northern side was plenty of space for tents. on the southern side are the vacant houses. there was clear water coming down from the waterfall when I was there. I had a pretty good night in that cabana.

Overnight parking lot on the property of the nice family who are very friendly for 100 peso per night. Dry camping and a clean toilet. Perfect for travelling through, next to the highway one, so accessible for every car.

Seasonal nature of their rafting business (July - November) leaves this place, run by very friendly owners, open for the rest of the year for overlanders.

Owners live on the property, which is shaded by variety of mature trees. They have two friendly dogs which patrol the grounds at night.

Easy access from the road, good and secure parking adjunct to resting area with tables & chairs, hammacks, clean flush style toilets, showers (cold).

It is possible to fill your garafons.

I had 2 bars on Telcel, 3 bars at night.

The place is easy walking distance to Jalcomulco (1km / pop. 6,000).

* Charge is 50 pesos per person traveling in smaller vehicles.
* RVs would have to negotiate.

I did stay for 2 nights and it was one of the most friendly encounters I had so far in MX (37 days and counting....)

A very pretty spot but the snowbirds rum their generators almost constantly. Kind of ruins the ambience at times.

the prices are: 600 dormatory, 1200 single and 1800 double (incl. breakfast), but you get the usual reduction if you pay with an non-argentinan card (for us it was 500 pp in the dormitory)

our four bed dormitory came with a small private bathroom, lockers and was rather old but spacious. the breakfast was nothing fancy but good: bread, butter, jam, dulce de leche, tea, coffe, fruits, cake.
the kitchen is big and well equiped and there is enough space to store your food there. the common area is friendly, there are tables, sofas and TVs.
the receptionist was very nice and helped us with all our questions.

Great place and by staying here you are really helping the charitable project attached we stayed two nights and made good use of the free WiFi. Hosts are very accommodating. We had fresh bread each day 2,500mk and also had our laundry done. We also visited the project. Wet clean ablutions - a good stop over too or from the boarder crossing.

Really cool and big caravaniserai. It’s in relatively good shape. Definitely worth a visit. No entrance fee.

To the south- 500 meters or so- you’ll find a very impressive citadel. Probably the best fort/citadel we’ve seen in Central Asia / Iran.

Small pull off a 4x4 track that heads up the mountain. The turn off the main road is easy to find, it’s signed. The track goes for a km or so across flat ground, then passes a little village. After that it gets a bit tougher and starts climbing (4x4 required). Eventually we found a good pull off where we could camp off the track (see coordinates). You could definitely follow the track higher into the mountains, or camp earlier though.

We had two people come by walking in the late afternoon who said there is a village higher up the road. We asked them if it was ok for us to sleep here though, and they said it was fine.

High potention location, pool was filled, electricity worked, nice canals. But bathrooms totally broke down and not so clean. At night local youngsters came to party with loud music until police removed them at 2AM... Free this time of year.
