Nice and quiet spot, ok for one night. There is a narrow dirt road leading to a private compound. We parked the car behind a little hut right next to the lake, nobody bothered us. Be aware of mosquitoes!

Dirty, noisy, bad mattress, bad pillow, the shelter is not enough for the cold weather. Please go elsewhere!!!

Still great place with helpful people. Toilettes are open all night but not the showers which does‘nt matter at all. If like to have a drink or a dinner with a wonderful athmosphere visit Café Del Mar.

New, clean and affordable hotel with beautiful garden and very friendly staff. We stayed for free in our car and used their restaurant. We could use the toilet and even had a shower. However, for us this was arranged via via so I'm not sure if they let any sleep in the car. Anyway, they have a good secure parking and clean rooms from 1500 rupees.

A good place if you arrive late afternoon that you can head on into town the following morning. There are two plateaus to stay with your car. First step to drive up is quite washed out but we managed it. The second step ist just very steep, no problem at all. Here is also a chance to drive around the hill. No climbing up. For this you take the road uphill on your right befor you reach the washed out way up. Probably some 2km befor.

Really nice place. Sadly 3 empty turtleshells were laying next to out campingspot.
Take the road from Ambriz to get in and out. We tried to use the sandy road further ( 30km ) to Tabi. We had to turn around there was no coming through.

First it seemed abandonned ( on ohne there ). We parked in the shade and later we met people who let us camp and opened the shower/ toilet which is used by the students? Father Futi is a very frienly man.

Choose the place on the parking place of Pascals Brasserie de la Mer. Securitywise. Further down the cul the sac road had robbery happened regularly.

We‘ve been camping at this spot for 3 nights as it was beautiful and few people around. We felt very safe. The last day we left the van unattended for 1.5 h. They smashed the window, went trough our stuff and robbed some of it. The same night other overlander got attacked inside their car at the lake spot that is about 2 kilometers from here.

We are both engineers so we like factories. For 10$pp you can do a guided tea tour in a factory. You get to see the drying, cutting and fermentation up close and you can touch and smell everything. Small tasting at the end. It’s fun! We were a bit surprised that it only took 30min so I would try to negotiate about the price.

Nice place to splash out at reasonable price. 4-star hotel with modern conveniences and pool, walking distance to beach. €55/night with breakfast, nice showers and strong wifi. Secure, off-street parking. We stayed an extra night just to relax.

There is a water tap to fill up your tanks: look out for the small electricity building behind the gas station (there are some trees around it).

We parked at the very far end of the lot by the auto parts store. Right against the bushes. Pretty dark and quiet throughout the night. I didn’t explore inside the Walmart but it is a smaller one. Some groceries. No perishables. You can probably buy gallons of water if necessary. The shopping center has a pasta place and a Dunkin’ Donuts. Pretty good as far as city camping goes.

Endroit très chaleureux et parfait pour passer quelques jours. Juan et sa famille sont très accueillants, souriants et bienveillants. Merci pour les légumes frais du jardin et pour cette accueil! Une bonne douche chaude. Petite cuisine. Grande pièce convivial pour partager.

Supposed to be one of the best restaurants in town. Close to archeological site.
Have a wide range of regional/national food. Also some vegetarian options.
Prices ok. See price list in photos.
We had coffee and a apple pie (their specialty), which were good.
Also have good wifi.
Note: in the evening only open untill 7 pm.

Nice big pull off right off of the highway. There were 2 other RV’s there. Any rig can fit easily and it’s pretty level ground too. We got in late and left early and it was relatively quiet with a few cars going by.

Remember it’s closed on a Monday and it’s free on a Tuesday, and that includes the full tour. 16 Spanish speakers for the 10am tour and us, so it was in Spanish which was disappointing, but well worth doing. Note by English standards this is a health & safety nightmare. Wear good shoes and be very aware of your surroundings, I expect the insulation material on the pipes contains asbestos, best not to disturb it.

Great little spot in town. Stay here when weather too misty, cold and rainy to camp. Glynis keeps the cottages well maintained. Can do self-catering or B&B. We pay ZAR500 per night cash (for the former) A discount as she likes to support wildlife conservation. Decent WiFi. Easy access to village shops. Quiet and secure.

pretty average hotel, in a great location in a nice city, has good parking on site, single rooms from 630 pesos a night with private bathroom and TV. reasonably clean, breakfast included but only coffee and two small croissants. Wi-Fi is slow when working,it does not work in the rooms at the back only in the rooms on the roadside. the best choice of the four budget hotels I saw in this city.

Excellent cuisine and selections of beer and wine. If you’re looking for a great meal after spending the day on the cold road like me, this is your place. Located at the square in La Union, it’s just up the hill from YPF. Quality food (a little pricier than others).

Full service and unserviced sites available. Sever km of walking trails around the campground, they even offer tube rides down the river. Extremely steep cliff faces, so watch you young ones. There are two bridges which allow access to the north side of the campground, be aware that these bridges are challenging enough for a pickup never mind a larger RV. There are some sites where you don't have to cross the bridges if you don't feel like attempting the crossing. The crossing is doable as there was some fifth wheel unites parked on the north side.

The town of Elora is a short drive, even a walk from the campground thru the day use area where there is restaurants and grocery stores, and other amenities.

THIS CAMPGROUND IS A DRY CAMP GROUND. If they catch anyone drinking alcohol at any point they will kick you out.

Great spot to stop for lunch or have a slight break along the road without being in harm of major traffic.

Area is only open during the spring to fall and is fenced off during the winter months.
