Still very windy but really good - rare for this road! - location! Good for several campers without cramping.

the last 50km of the road are gravel, sometimes steep. landslides are usually only cleared on one lane.
took us 4hrs from Vilcabamba to Pucapamba. beautiful drive when not clouded in :)

good place before (or after) the border crossing. people were playing volleyball when we arrived.

Great for one night. It's on a place with outdoor child play games and so lot of kids. Perfect for famillies.

At the end of some plantation road, enough space for one car or a tent, on the cliff, no water access.

It's also called Playa Zopotilla. There were busy and not so busy days, but usually only day trippers, very few stayed overnight. I would say it's less busy than Pirates. We saw a guy perhaps collecting a fee, but he never asked us. Maybe he was just offering to watch the cars?
Hide your garbage away for the night because racoons will scatter it. The waves looked intimidating, but it was ok to swim. It's a very pleasant beach.

very nice park, they let us go and sleep in the jungle (camp n°1) even if there is no parking. you just park along the trail.

During this 2 days we see nobody in the park, except the guard and a guide.

we did a 7km hike with him to the river and Mayan stone. Guide is free, only on tip. We gave him 6usd.

you can do the hike alone without guide, but maybe it's good for the community to hire locals.

Stayed 2 nights here. Quiet n tranquil nights. As we were the only camper here so we have the whole facilities to ourselves. Amelia as ever is friendly.

Follow the track, good for big rigs as well, along the river. Not visible from the main road. Quiet. Some spots to turn around, also with a truck.

Cargaron nuestra garrafa argentina de 2kg por 7 soles. Nos querían cobrar 10.5 con la excusa de que en la garrafa de 2 kg entraron 3. Le dijimos que entonces no lo queríamos y luego de discutir nos terminaron cobrando los 2 kg correspondientes.

a restaurant an a hotel, cool place. "quique" the owner of the place is a beautiful person. they let us park there and use the shower and lights too.

Situated in Gila National Forest, open range with view to the Mountains. Good unpaved road, 0.8 mile from US 180. Perfect to see the night sky.

Was pouring rain out and both nearby Copecs didn't work for us. Came here and asked lady in the booth to be sure; all good and there was plenty of room. 4G Entel. Spent two nights here.

Nice place to hang around for a few days. We camped beside the hostel for 15BZ$ pp and could use all hostel facilities.

One of the only places to stay on this road. reasonable wind protection in the trees. somewhat visible from the road but very quiet. no problem in a 4x4 to cross the small ditch.

Strong AC. Good food. Free WiFi. Decent cappuccino. Not cheap but a good place to waste away time while waiting for visas.
