Totally recommend visit to this small town. Carhue is small but full of local life with a big lake besides call Lago epecuen. It’s salty and so much that a man can float like in the Dead Sea!!! It has therapeutical uses. It’s a natural term just open to everyone!
And there is a ghost town: epecuen village. A tourist village that in the 1985 was flooding and now you can visit the ruins of what it was an espectacular sommer village.
There are banks, supermarkets, gas stations, hotels, hostels, Cabañas and campings.

People don’t speak English so be patient, but they will try to help you on what they can and told everything about their history.

We paid 200 p/p and 200 car. It’s out of season and we were the only here.

now has a new name and new owner. still a nice place and prices as below. very helpful with punta gallinas plans don't try to sell you anything.
I also did a kite surfing Kurs for 120k per hour. Sabrina my teacher was very good and accurate about the hours. you get actual water time for your money and with the cheap accomodation it's not a bad deal. super nice stuff in general.

Free. Good place for overnight. There is a wc beside to the Marina's office, clean (open 5am - 10pm). We felt safe there.

Beautiful after the rain. The road in is suitable for smaller campers. 3 bars of Verizon service.

A little place off grass not too close to the road. For 4x4 easy but for other i don’t know. We HAD a quiet night there.

What an amazing spot to spend a night! Quiet except for wild sounds. Heard hyena, jackal and more. Tracks of all kinds from small to large. Watched vervets raid the weaver nests across the river 😢 price now ZAR195pppn a bit steep. Watch for geckos in the toilets. That’s in the fixture you sit down on.

Opens at 8 am (Monday). We were there at 7am, some people were allready sitting outside. We got in at 8 am and it took 2 hours. People were very friendly and helpful.
I got my passphotos at a shop on the main bazar street (somewhere around 27.179472, 56.278462) 6 for 40.000 rial.

On the way to Murchison Falls we fell into HKH Hoima Kolping Hotel. Spotles rooms with big bathroom a very comfortable bed. A good rated restaurant and very nice people here.

food really good - we took the porcion of beef which we were not able to eat with two of us - it was such a big one.
55bol for hudge porcion of beef, rice, frices and simple salad.

Parking at end of Nador esplanade. Next to small boat marina. No services, but ok to park overnight—no charge, safe. Area maintained daily. Walk to restaurants and shops. Macdonald’s just outside parking area. Good for ferry crossing. On Sunday, somewhat noisy until midnight, then very quiet until dawn.

In front of the catamaran to go to rio, there is small food truck with amazing French cakes and really good french quiches ! You have to try this place if you are around. It’s open wednesday, thursday, and friday start at 6pm until 10pm . Eric is french and is a good professional !!!

Best shower ever! I would not expect a rain forest shower in a gas station, Wow!
Seems like they don't charge for it right now.

Showers still available for 50, but women's shower out of service right now, they officially don't allow women to take a shower in the men's shower, but you could sneak in with your partner, I guess. On the way north I'd recommend to go to the northern YPF in Comodoro Rivadavia (on IOverlander) as it has the best showers ever.

Very nice spot near a clear water stream. we were here in a sunday and there were during the day some locals ti swim and fish, but all left at night. We were all alone during the night. if you drive back it is not visible from the road.
we even caught some fish here

It is a place of a dream. nice grass close the river with tree for shade. the panora is great. we will explore tomorrow. We like the fresh weater. good water comminf from a hose. cristal clear water.

The English speaking archeologist has left but there is another young woman and her husband on site and she will happily show you around. She doesn't speak English but has lots of pictures, renderings, and maps to show along the tour. You'll also enter their work shop with some artifacts and an unexcavated skeleton if I understood correctly. Free and took 30 minutes. Like the others..We waited at the barbed wire gate for a little bit, then just walked in and there she was!

Parked right out front. We had great weather and amazing views. Fast internet. Felt like we were sitting in a cafe in Oregon. Great food. Pricey like all of Chile.

Paid 8,000 Chilean pesos per person including our kids (8 and 6 years old) for two nights. By far the highest price we’ve paid this trip. In hindsight would have wild camped. However owner Ingrid very nice. Sinks to wash dishes and clothes. Showers and toilets dirty. Warm water limited hours (fluctuated between warm and cold). Road noise.
Positives are lots of shade and trees. Close to town and lake. Small play area for kids. Pretty, clear river runs through campground. Tons of parrots.

Still there, they do have open hours daily, I think it was Mon-Sat 8 or 9am to 6pm and Sunday shortened hours.

fishers at the end of the day and on the morning. Not very clean. No shelter but we had no wind.

Nice place with air-con and a little terrace in front of the room we got. Also a small kitchen and a cold shower. Good parking for cars and motorcycles behind a locked gate. Good WiFi.
